In the early 1980's, company founder J Reilly worked on commercial highrise and residential home construction in CT and NY with some of the largest construction companies at that time, including: Franford Construction of New Haven, Banton Construction of West Haven and Leviere of Wallingford, CT.
Mr. Reilly then founded Shannon Construction in 1985; it was later incorporated and renamed Shannon Group and Associates, LLC and was located in New Haven, CT.

Our inspections are conducted by a team rather than by a lone home inspector. Team inspections enable us to inspect the home with a deeper level of detail and give you a thorough introduction to the home. Because we work in teams, we are able to finish the inspection faster. Each team is comprised of one inspector and one assistant technician.

Holy cow! This is my first home purchase so I have nothing to compare them to, but from my inexperienced first impressions, they were incredible!!!! My realtor (20 years in the business) was there too and he was so impressed he’s going to be using them for an inspection later this week.
3 people showed up (early too and after a call to see if early was ok) and my oh my were they efficient and professional. I can compare Reilly to other inspectors since I had a home inspection for a house that fell through prior, and the differences are amazing. Reilly checked 10% of what the other inspector checked. They did not check - heat temperature coming out of each vent to ensure proper flow, outlets and those with trips, dishwasher, water temperature in faucets, windows, condition of outside wood on the house, rodents/bugs, wash and dryer, etc... After moving in we found the following: Dishwasher doesn't work bc of water pressure, issues with hot water due to shower handle setting, no cable for tv/internet

Take your business elsewhere. I confirmed on the phone for an inspection for a pair inspection led by J Reilly whom I had read good reviews about. With no notice only a single inspector was sent. There was no pair inspection as promised. Additionally the inspection was not very through and completed in an hour compared to 2+ hours that was promised. Despite my requests some items were not checked. I made efforts to rectify this by contacting the owner J Reilly who was not willing to admit there was anything wrong with the change in personnel and quality of inspection. They also did not provide

We just had a home inspection with Reilly and they were great! Jesse, the inspector, was incredibly observant, professional and provided us some really valuable insights. We are first time home buyers and he took the time to walk me through the property to help me understand any current and potential future issues which was so helpful. I learned a TON from him and we plan to use his notes as a guide for action items/projects when we take over the house. Beyond all of that, he was a very cool and approachable guy who made the entire process so easy and enjoyable.

Referred by a friend who used Reilly Inspections on two properties. As a first time home buyer, it was an informative, invaluable, and incredible experience to watch these guys work. Very courteous, professional, and thorough. Martin, J, and Jesse all showed up and got right to work, coming to get me when needed to go over different rooms and issues. At the end, a comprehensive report was provided, outlining the entire inspection, down to major and minor items. We had our home inspected this March and we used Reilly Inspections on a recommendation from a coworker and thank goodness we did! We tried calling a few other companies and when we told them that per our contract we only had a few days to have the house inspected, they wouldn't even bother with us. I sent an email to Reilly Inspections on a Friday night at 9:00 and they called me back within minutes to help. J Reilly and his team completed the inspection on my new home. The inspection was very thorough and the inspectors took their time and did not rush through the inspection. At the end of the inspection I was given a color copy full inspection report. J's team also includes a re-inspection at the day of your walkthrough to inspect areas that were not accessible during the initial inspection and to make sure the house is still in good order before you close. I even called J a few days after my closing with a few plumbing questions and he actually came back to the house to walk through all of my questions
