Replacement windows can be a big improvement to an older home, if you've been contending with broken sash cords, drafts, top sash stuck shut in a slightly open position, old triple track storm windows that can be almost impossible to clean, and other problems that I see every day in the Elm City. On the other hand, there are a lot of cheap replacement windows out there.

I cannot more highly recommend Margaret and Elm City Home Inspections. With the busy housing market, she was able to get me in with very short notice. She was extremely thorough and explained many things to me on the day of inspection as we walked through the home. Additionally, her report was very well-organized, well-written, and in a great format. The high quality of her inspection definitely gave me the information we needed and peace of mind.

Margaret was fantastic to work with. She came highly recommended from friends who had just gone through the home buying process, and our experience was exactly the same. She spent three and a half hours at the house checking every little detail, and teaching us along the way (there are no dumb questions to Margaret--she had an excellent way of explaining things that we were unfamiliar with). We left the inspection feeling much more knowledgeable about the house and excited to move forward. Once we've moved in, the detailed inspection report will be our guide for minor repairs and regular maintenance
