Hatha Yoga Center
We are one of the original Seattle Yoga studios. We offer daily classes, yoga teacher trainings and many online asana and meditation offerings. For the past 13 months all classes have been streamed live via the HYC Facebook Live Stream Group page and these classes continue to be available online. In-person attendance is now also available for all classes listed on our schedule.

If you are coming in person, to get into the building you need to put the numbers, 1977 (one, nine, seven, seven) into the keycode, otherwise the outside door will remain locked and you will not get in.

Of all the yoga studios I have attended around the world, the Hatha Yoga Center in Seattle, USA is the most authentic in following the true spirit of yogic principles. The teachers instruct from a place of deep understanding and embodiment and support each person where they are at. They have continued to support their community during the pandemic by livestreaming all their classes as well as support a very few of us in person who are in their quarantine pod. I can't say enough about the quality and integrity of this yoga studio. So grateful to have found them in my own hometown.

Hatha Yoga Center has been so helpful to me in safely providing livestream yoga classes throughout these challenging times. I have practiced here for about 5 years, and I have so missed my live yoga classes throughout this pandemic and business shutdown. Ki’s instruction is very precise, and she remembers every one of my physical issues and limitations and tailors her instruction during each class to the students who are in attendance and what their needs are. Her yoga has dramatically improved my functioning and reduced my pain even with an inflammatory arthritis condition that I have. Fortunately

I have been taking classes at the Hatha Yoga Center going on 5 years and the owners Ki and Bob have always been welcoming, caring and provide very detailed instructions. They never push anyone beyond their physical capabilities and are very keen on getting to know each person in every class. As soon as the pandemic started they went to virtual teaching which has been wonderful and allows me to take classes either live or later in the day when I have the time. As a result I have been able to take a yoga class now for 276 consecutive days during this pandemic. A testament to the quality of Bob and

DO NOT GO HERE.
Throughout the entire 2020 deadly coronavirus pandemic this place was open. They hosted classes with multiple instructors and students, nobody masked, no windows open. I walk by their storefront and March-June they were doing this. Defying legal rulings from the state, and endangering everyone they came into contact with. Regardless of lockdown rules, even the strictest Seattle was in, they refused to comply and were probably responsible for hundreds of people dying & many more cases in our city.
People are mad at college kids for spreading the virus, but businesses/owners/instructors

Went on a Saturday to go to acupuncture and ask for yoga information and the worker slammed the door on my face! She rudely told me that she was recording a live stream and that she couldn’t help me. There was no sign up saying as such so how was I to know? Very very unwelcoming! Clearly not a true yogi and highly unprofessional. Hope she works through whatever darkness she is in.
Edited to add that it was the owner Ki who treated a potential new comer this way.

Hidden gem in the University District

I was introduced to this while living in the area, and found this place amazing. Bob and Ki gives personal attention to every individual, and you get a feel of being in the family. Most of the people here were long-timers (like 20+ years), and never stopped coming here.

If you want to explore yoga, this is prolly the best place in the town.

The Hatha Yoga Center is the real deal.
If you're looking for real yogis to learn the science of yoga, then look no further.
I was lucky enough to come across them on my search for an authentic yoga teacher training course where I could learn beyond standardized, commercialized asana practice. I was incredibly pleased as I entered the program for my first weekend, with immediate focus on meditation and keen hands-on corrections. My body improved and changed drastically over the next two years, as did my body of knowledge in anatomy, kinesiology, and yogic philosophy and spiritual study as well

Bob and Ki are deeply experienced practitioners and teachers. The studio has a feeling of warmth and acceptance for all body types and ages of practitioners. After practicing with Bob for many years I moved away from the area and I was unable to find a teacher that approached yoga so holistically and practically. Since moving back at a much older age, Bob and Ki have literally healed a small back issue that had been brewing for years. Truly a wonderful gift the Hatha Yoga Studio, get there if you can. Added bonus, Saturday morning yoga followed by the University Street Fair is a sweet wonderful
