We offer everything from cut to color, Brazilian, Japanese, and cashmere hair straightening, perms, hair extensions and much more. Our wigs are designed for women undergoing cancer treatments. They are natural looking, comfortable, and allow your hair to grow back underneath after chemo. All clients receive pre/post chemo haircuts, estimates for insurance pre-approval, wig styling, and a wig care kit, and a wig care lesson, at no additional cost, with a no-hassle return policy.
One of the hardest thing about chemo is loosing your hair. But if you're proactive, we can make a custom halo with your own hair before it falls out. Worn under a hat or head cover, they are lightweight and comfortable- just put it on and go. HairPlaceNYC is dedicated to helping those who lost their hair to cancer.

Halo wigs make your premium wig last longer by alternating wears, and the hair can be re-used for extensions 4-6 months after your hair starts to grow back.
When buying a wig, it's important to consider the construction of the wig. Hand-tied wigs are better than weft (or machine-tied) wigs. Though more expensive, hand-tied wigs look more natural, as if the hair is naturally growing right from your own scalp, and they are more comfortable. In a weft wig, the hair is sewn by machine into a vertical-lined cap.

I can't say enough good things about this place. They are knowledgeable and caring and extremely helpful. I worked with Alex and she showed me various ways to work with what was left of my chemotherapied hair - wig, topper (for the bald spots on top) or colored powder for the scalp - a revelation. She was patient and good humoured and I left the salon feeling great. Highly recommended.

I enjoy going to this salon for my hair needs. It’s very comfortable. My hair stylist is Suzie who is excellent. It is necessary for me to wear a wig and she matches the color perfectly so I am able to pull some hair out to make it look natural. No one can tell I am wearing a wig. Thanks to Suzie

I am writing this review to alert you to a marvelous hair dresser named Tanzin who styles both men and women's hair. My wife has used Tanzin for several years and I asked if she can cut mens hair. I can vouch that she is an excellent cutter and stylist of men's hair. And if you're in the market for a hairpiece she can set that up for you as well. Highly recommended!

I have been coming here for years and can't imagine going anywhere else! Tenzin is phenomenal! She is kind, extremely talented, and will advise you based on what's best for the health of your hair, rather than what will make them the most money. The staff is wonderful, welcoming, and very helpful with scheduling. They're also extremely well-priced for a Manhattan salon and you won't find yourself compromising on quality. I have have always had thin hair, thinning out even further over the past year so the point that I could not get it to grow. I went to Alex with my concerns and she hooked me up with the perfect set of extensions. They look so natural, fill out my hair, and was even able to add a lot of length thanks to her styling and blending. I have been going to Elise many years!! I initially went very reluctantly after a friend staged an intervention of sorts on my very premature gray hair. She assured me I'd be in good hands with Elise and she could not have been more right. Elise gives a great haircut and is an exceptional colorist, especially if you want to maintain a natural look. Elise also traveled 3 hours each way to do my hair and makeup (and the bridal party's) for my wedding. Shanta is also great and takes great care of you while in the salon. I highly recommend them both!

I was referred to HairPlaceNYC by a friend as I was in search of a wig due to extreme hair loss. I met with Trinata to get fitted and to say she was patient is an understatement. I must've tried on over a dozen variations and she took her time to explain the difference in price, quality, texture and color. I came here with my mom to find a wig for her during chemo and I'm very glad I found this place online. We met with Alexandria and her compassion and kindness put us at ease. She gave us practical advice and helped us make decisions on when to come back and which wigs to choose. What I like most about this place is their knowledge specific to cancer patients and their needs. There are so many issues to deal with connected with chemotherapy. I do recommend getting a wig before your hair changes and falls out. And after a horrible experience at another shop where I walked out, I can recommend Hair Place/Andrew DiSimone Wigs. Alex is EXCEPTIONAL. She is calm, honest empathetic and professional.
