One part Carnaby Street circa 1960, one part Cotswolds, White Swan Inn is a heady little homage to all-things mod-meets-English Country glam. But this time around, in the heart of San Francisco's Nob Hill. Come see why it's better to do the City By The Bay with little bit of Brit panache thrown in.
And hang your hat in a boutique hotel that truly breaks the mold. White Swan Inn has just been named one of the 21 Best Hotels in San Francisco by Conde Nast Traveler. Free WiFi is just the start. We make an art out of taking care of our guests. Case-and-point, our daily complimentary breakfast basket and glass of wine and nibbles - the perfect fuel for a little urban exploration.

I’ve only been here one night and one full day of my five night stay and I’m already so impressed. The check-in staff (Cody) was very helpful, conversational and kind. The free breakfast and wine hour are lovely but the abundant fireplaces really set this place apart. There’s a downstairs area where breakfast is served and it remains open to guests. In this space there is 24 hour water, coffee, tea, and HOT COCOA (!) along with lovely music and ambiance that reminds of yesteryear when phones were not invented and people actually socialized. I’ve already had the most lovely conversations

Could not recommend this place more highly! Stayed here for a brief business trip and would absolutely stay again. Everyone on staff was incredibly warm and helpful. The rooms are spacious and totally unique- mine had a working fireplace and couches and chairs, as well as a thoroughly comfortable bed with great pillows. The breakfast included in the morning and the coffee/tea/hot chocolate available in the parlor 24 hours a day make this place so homey and comfortable. It’s quirky and lived in, but 100% clean with reliably fast WiFi that’s easy to connect to, a printer for any work you need

The White Swan Inn was a perfect choice for my stay in San Francisco. The location is central, staff is helpful and friendly and it is well maintained. They have morning buffet and evening wine and appetizers. The motif is charming and fun. My queen suite was spacious, quiet and comfortable. I look forward to staying there for future visits to San Francisco.

Amazing, friendly and welcoming hotel! Great location, a few blocks from union square. Good breakfast, which includes various pastries that change every day. The wine and nibbles in the afternoon are really good as well and and excellent touch to make guests feel at home. Very comfy bed and amazing room with fireplace. Would definitely stay again!

Had a fantastic time staying here! Me and my fiancé’s first time staying here - check in was a little slow because there were about 3 of us arriving at the same time but besides that the wine hour every day is great fun, staff is so friendly! Room was comfortable with the fireplace. They provided list of places to go, held our bags, and just the overall ambiance was wonderful for us. Elevator may be the best part! Haha

Very clean and well maintained entrance and welcome area. Room was clean, but was warm with limited ventilation to prevent good circulation. Bathroom was clean and all pieces were current and in excellent condition. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Lighting and seating were good. Bed was soft and very high you may need a step stool. Positive note one representative who stood out was Cody who was helpful at every turn of our stay. His professional style along with his gentle support make us recommend 4 stars to people who want a nice place to consider.

We LOVED our stay with you. Truly, the service and hospitality of your staff was outstanding! A special shout out to both Louis, Louis and Fransisco. We had the most contact with them during our stay and they were nothing short of amazing. They really deserve recognition for outstanding service, friendliness and professionalism. Our room was clean, breakfast every morning, and the wine and nibbles in the evening was terrific and just added a special touch to our vacation.

I had the best stay here! It was cozy and relaxing and the staff was amazing and they cared for their guests.
I enjoyed the wine hour and the snacks provided which are complimentary to your stay. I loved the breakfast (do search up what continental means though). I loved that they had coffee and tea available at all times. I loved the decor and the fireplace in our room it was amazing! If I come back to San Fran I will be coming back here for my stay!
Thanks 😊

We had a lovely night here. It's the perfect combination of old world charm and modern amenities. The room was comfy and clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They have great coffee and tea available 24/7, and serve wine in the evening (ok, it's not the greatest wine I ever had, but it's complimentary), and a nice little continental breakfast in the am. The location is perfect for visiting the city, just blocks away from union square and an easy walk or Uber to all the central spots. Perfect!

I found White Swan Inn after googling for high-rated hotels near union square. I was booking a surprise birthday trip for my partner, and I wanted to make sure we were close enough to the Orpheum Theater and a few dinner spots we had reservations at.
This hotel is so charming, and we loved everything about it. Great location and walking distance from Powell Station Bart, Union Square, The Orpheum, etc.
The decor is so much fun and really does feel like an English getaway in the heart of San Francisco. There's a super cool old elevator, fun decor throughout the building, complimentary breakfast

Book a room here if you want to feel like a rock star! Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and the windows open so there is a fresh breeze. The bed was delicious and the in room fireplace decadent. Staff was so friendly and helpful and my husband was obsessed with the antique elevator. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Fran.

Room was beautiful! Clean! Had a fan for air flow and plenty of windows! Bathroom was nice and modern. Hotel staff was sweet. The entire inn gave me a nice Netflix style 1900s feel!
I don't think you could call it a bed and breakfast though. The breakfast was a sugary biscuit, yogurt, apple/pear & Oj.

If I could give them ten stars I would. Great location. We stayed in room #53 and it was spacious and tastefully decorated. The service is attentive and the elevator a charming antique. The continental breakfast was fresh and there were indoor and out venues from which to choose.
We were busy and looked forward to returning to the inn at the end of a long day. We shall return.

I loved staying at the White Swan Inn! It will now be my go-to hotel in SF. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was spacious and had a gas fireplace. I loved how unique the decor was, and all the amenities like free beverages and wine hour. The location is great and within walking distance to lots of attractions and transportation options. We rented a car and it was really easy to find parking on the street and there were affordable overnight parking garages about a block away.

The White Swan Inn is a MUST. You are right in the heart of downtown San Francisco, but not enough so that you are concerned about cleanliness, safety or homelessness. You enter this adorable b&b into the quaint main lobby only to find that it is adorably decorated with retro and vintage decor from floor to ceiling. That's just the beginning. The staff is the most kind, welcoming, personable and caring staff I have really ever encountered before. You are greeted with sincerity, generosity and utmost hospitality. Braulio-one of the kind men at the front desk took time to sincerely chat

We stayed at the White Swan April 2021.
The location was excellent. It was an easy walk to Union Square and China Town. We had our windows open and the evening was peaceful and void of city noise. The staff were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was emasculate! Ok!!!!! One complaint... my pillow was too firm! I highly recommend this charming hotel!

My husband and I loved staying here. The Inn was comfortable and had the typical San Francisco architecture and feel. The room exceeded our expectations and was very clean. We had a queen bed, sitting area by a fireplace ( which we used every night since it's cold in SF ), complimentary water bottles, tea and coffee, clean bathtub, and complimentary continental breakfast. Since we stayed during the pandemic, they gave us the option to call for our wine and nibbles or breakfast and set up a designated space for us or we were able to have it in our room.
Our experience. We stayed for our wedding

This was such a cute boutique hotel to stay in. Although we spent $187 with taxes, they provided a breakfast in the parlor or you can take it to go breakfast and a happy hour with wine and crackers and cookies. It's truly a gem of a place. We wanted to get away from the heat BUT it seriously was hot in the city. The only downfall to this place is no air conditioning AND lots of sirens all through the night. Next time we will ask for a room away from the street. We will come back in the colder months as there was a fireplace in our room. Lots of character to this hotel which I enjoy. Fun place

The White Swan Inn is the best kept secret in SF. After looking for a place to stay for one night in the city and being discouraged by all of the extra fees and charges most places were adding onto the rooms, I found White Swan and it felt like it was too good to be true.
Not only did they not have additional "resort fees" but they included so many extras into the stay. The room came complimentary drinks in the mini bar, breakfast , cookies and evening wine and appetizers. So generous and hospitable. We even saved and found free overnight parking on the street right outside when we

This place is amazing! From the vintage elevator to the decor and lounge area and the amazing outside patio area for relaxing!
The NIGHTLY cocktail and app hour is very nice. Serving white/red wine and several snack options. We enjoyed sitting on the patio or even in the Library looking lounge by the fire.
Coffee/tea available 24 hours is also a major plus in my book along with the excellent Buffet breakfast.
Staff was friendly and the rooms large and clean
When in San Fran I won't be staying anywhere else from now on!

This is a boutique hotel on Bush Street we really enjoyed. It is dated and quaint which some patrons may not care for. Our room was decent sized and comfortable including a gas fireplace, sitting area and wet bar alcove. The hotel has an elevator probably from the 1920s. It probably works better than most new ones and is a step back in time. Hotel was clean and refurbished well to preserve its original finishes. Best of all is the lower floor parlor which includes excellent coffee and several areas to lounge including a parlor with fireplace, an outdoor enclosed patio and a deck with tables and
