The Melissa Room, named after a former owners daughter, is a bright room. Four large windows with antique interior shutters and two window seats fill the room with sunshine. It is decorated with a colonial bed set and has a wonderful ten foot high ceiling that opens. The Pike Room, because it location on the first floor, offers easy accessibility, full-sized bed, and private bath.
The Noyes Room features simple lines of a queen-sized Shaker canopy bed found on the third floor. The room was named after William Noyes, previous owner of the house in 1840. Artwork of local folk artist Christopher Gurshin is featured in the room. Additionally, we have some beautiful antique samplers on display in the room.
The Marquand room is one of our two rooms with a private entrance. Located on the second floor, the room features its own deck overlooking the beautiful gardens and gazebo. This room has a king-sized bed. The room is named after the Pulitzer-prize winning writer, J.P. Marquand, famous for his series of fictional books of the 1930 and 1940s.
The Currier room has a King-sized bed and cushioned window seats, colonial shutters and a cozy, unique enclosed porch off the bathroom. Pictures from a former owner's son's wedding in the 1940s adorn the walls as well as paintings from the 1900s showing local sites in Newburyport. The Currier is named after a former owner.
Our Inn has a variety of public spaces containing impressive architectural details and furnishings. One of the Inn's most distinguished features is the elegant "Good Morning Staircase." Our Parlor contains original oil paintings by two of Newburyport's more famous artists, Sam Sargent and Aida Tedford.

Incredible little bed and breakfast! Had a lovely time here with my girlfriend. Great location that makes it very easy to walk everywhere you'll want to go. Room was quite clean and the place had a lovely charm, with quite a few common spaces (and freshly baked cookies). Breakfast was delicious as well. Would love to stay here again

We just stayed one night here but the entire experience was very impressive. This old (1802) New England house is wonderfully decorated as well as being convenient to all of Newburyport. We made our reservation late and got the last available room. It was perfect...perfectly clean (and I mean that sincerely), well appointed with a private balcony and entrance. In an old inn, a frequent problem is the bathroom. Not here. It was modern, everything worked great.
Because of Covid-19, breakfast could not be served in a common room so the inn left us with a menu to choose from and the continental

The Clark Currier is falsely advertised as a bed & breakfast. "Breakfast" is the cheapest pseudo-food available (see picture), which they put out for guests to get themselves. There's a Keurig machine for coffee--no cappuccino, cafe latte, or fresh brew. The room reeks of mold, bleach, and air freshener. The owners live in a separate house, of which I'm sure they take much better care, and are in the "inn" only from 3 to 5 for check-in. I finally found the TV remote deep under the bed. I had to use my umbrella (which I brought, because the owners don't provide

This inn is something truly special. Built at the beginning of the 1800s, It's like going back in time but with modern amenities. The furniture and decorations have preserved the look and feel of that time. They are very accommodating to late check-ins, have their own dedicated parking spots, and had even personalized a welcome package for us that was bought with our reservation. These personal touches made us feel right at home. And the innkeeper assured us it was not haunted! They were very friendly and helpful, and it was fun to poke around and look at all the different rooms. I would recommend

I couldn't think of a better place to spend a weekend in Newburyport. Amazing inn in the heart of town. The rooms are fantastic, and the location is perfect! Walking distance from downtown, which includes great shops and restaurants! The owner was here when we arrived and is from my hometown. He was extremely welcoming and very kind/ excited to have us as guests in his inn. The common areas are historic and spacious, as are the private rooms. Can't wait to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the Clark Currier. Caitlin was so friendly and welcoming, and her breakfasts were great. The house itself is beautiful and there is a small bar fridge for guests to store food/wine. The room was comfortable, however the bathroom was a bit small. We were walking distance to downtown and will stay there again the next time we are in town.

Location was great as you could easily walk to town.
Stayed at the Marquand room, which was small, but well organized and clean. Bathroom tiny but well equipped and adequate.
There is a nice deck with a private entrance on the other side of the room. You can sit outside on the provided table and chairs with umbrella overlooking a nice garden.
There are plenty of rooms throughout the inn where you can hang out and feel somewhat private.
Staff were casual and not really present all of the time.
Breakfast is not what you would expect for an Inn, but if you are fine with sub standard coffee,

Note: the rating is based mostly on our customer service experience here.
The inn itself: pretty, well maintained, clean, but no shampoo in the bathrooms so be sure to bring your own as we were running to CVS to pick some up.
My boyfriend and I were locked out of the inn on the second night of our stay by a guest or someone who deadbolted the back door (to which guests are not given a key). It was after midnight, and we spent over an hour outside banging on the door, calling a number that led to nowhere, and ringing the doorbell. A sleepy guest finally let us in at about 1:30 in the morning

Before heading to Gloucester for a wedding my wife and I stayed in Newburyport for a couple of days. We always wanted to stay at a B&B there and picked this place based on the Yelp reviews.
We've appreciated the cleanness of the place but also how friendly the inn keeper and his staff are. A huge plus was the parking in the back. Something you don't want to miss in this town.
The collection of old historical nightgowns at the wall was kind of creepy at first but was simply part of the theme of the Sargent room. The entire house is decorated with a collection of antiques and gives

There are very few places where the innkeeper still lives within the B&B and takes care of the entire facility on a daily basis, and takes his time to tell guests of the history surrounding the area. I happen to love this kind of stuff and was pleasantly surprised and pleased when our innkeeper proceeded to give us history about the Clark Currier house as he checked us in.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Sargent Room - one of the least expensive rooms in the entire B&B, but also had enough space for the two of us. The room contained a full sized bed and two smaller twin-sized beds (presumably

I might have given this B&B a 4 star because we enjoyed our room very much. It had its own entrance and a view of the garden. The bathroom though small was very adequate. Also, the room itself was clean and comfortable.
That said, the common areas though lovely, are in need of a good dusting. And the "breakfast " was very substandard for a B&B. We were served raisin bran and canned peaches. There was also an off brand of low fat yogurt, a couple of bacon strips, a lonely sausage, and orange juice and coffee /tea. For the advertised tea, we got just tea, nothing else. All and

The Clark Currier Inn was an excellent place to stay. I would refer this Inn to anyone who was searching for a quaint and pleasant place to lodge for a night or two, or maybe even the entire week. The Inn-keepers were extremely hospitable and delightful to be around who give you your space but are there for you if necessary. I stayed in the downstairs suite which was very nice because I had two bathrooms and a sitting room with a TV and sofa to relax. I also had my own side door which lead to a private balcony outside. The room and entire Inn was extremely clean, with a cleaning service that came

I have always measured the value of a bed and breakfast not by the pattern of the bedspread or the books in the sitting room, but by the friendly staff that welcome you in to their home as guests. If this is rubric, than the Clark Currier Inn is second-to-none. Bob and his daughter are some of the warmest, friendliest, most inviting and helpful people you will ever meet, not to mention gracious hosts. I recently attended a family reunion for which we rented out the entirety of the Inn. The rooms were warm, comfortable and gorgeous, and the entire house was immaculately kept. Bob was gracious
