Services
We are located on the top two floors of a 150 year old historic, three-story home on Music Row in the heart of Nashville. Our studio holds up to 12 classes per day, varying in styles in both our heated (Shakti) and unheated (Shiva) rooms. Your use of the space includes a place to store your belongings, men's and women's changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers.
This heated class is inspired to ignite Shakti, the pure, boundless, creative energy within in each of us. The power vinyasa yoga practice is an invigorating, healing, detoxifying sequence that links movement of the body with the power of the breath. The practice is rooted in Power Yoga and available to all, with modifications and variations of the poses.
We offer individual private yoga and meditation sessions tailored to the request of the student. Whether you are brand new to yoga and want to learn the basics, recovering from an injury or looking to develop more advanced poses and sequences, we have instructors available to guide you through your practice.
Join Gilbert for a creative, engaging and fun workshop. During the session Gilbert will show you how to intentionally incorporate new movements and postures within a structure you are familiar with. You will learn to speak to and build to a peak pose. This is designed for teachers but open to anyone wanting to explore and expand their personal practice.
We love to travel, experience new places, and to be in community with each other outside of the studio. Join us for a retreat and claim more of what you need in your life, whether that be time to relax and recharge or to satiate your sense of adventure! Are you Ready to Getaway, let go and reignite your spirit of travel and play?

Nice yoga class but three smart people, including two employees, were unable to figure out how to set up parking with the new QR reader system. Got a $50 ticket and a $6.99 charge for a one hour class. Have been going here for over three years but sadly will not be going back. Non pay parking is extremely limited.

Amazing yoga studio, amazing teachers, and amazing atmosphere! I wasn't in to hot yoga before joining this studio, but Shakti totally converted me! Prior to joining Shakti, I had attended one hot yoga class years back, and it was way too hot and stuffy and also too difficult. What made hot yoga at Shakti different was that instructors don't pressure you into poses, and the heat is not turned ridiculously high. As a COVID precaution, they also have the fans on sometimes and always have the windows slightly open.
I also love the unheated Vinyasa class. You can't be fooled, though

All the teachers at Shakti are amazing... I've taken classes with a bunch of them and I love how they all have the same Shakti vibe, like a part of the same mantra but at the same time each has their own style and creativity. The hot classes are my favorite... not quite bikram but hot where you get a good sweat on! The owners seem to be super in tune with their staff and everyone is so friendly.

The instructors here are absolutely wonderful and so helpful for yogis of any level. I recently purchased the 30 days of yoga for $30 deal offered on their website, and I have not been disappointed in the least. Shakti does a temperature scan and interview of every single person at the door before entrance to an in-person class. They also have a "mask to mat" rule which means your mask stays on until you reach a socially distant mat marked off by tape within the room. You will have to bring your own mat, towel, and block (if you need it) since equipment will not be shared for everyone

This is my home away from home! I’m happy taking ANY class no matter who teaches. All staff take the time to learn your name and get to know you. There are multiple classes throughout the day so I can always find one to work in my schedule. When class sizes are small, it feels intimate and your teacher will work with you frequently. When class is full, the energy in the room is unmatched and motivates me to give it my best!
If you’re looking for a studio with awesome teachers, awesome students, one that offers life-changing opportunities on and off the mat, this is it.

I really enjoy this place! I started yoga one month ago (on their awesome intro offer $30 for 30 days) and I really enjoy the warm cultured environment that Shakti provides. Teachers are very knowledgeable and good at identifying alternatives for beginners so you won't feel lost in the class. Would recommend this place to anyone!

I’m from out of town and dropped into the noon class being led by Rae Anne. She did a great job! It was a fun challenging class and I never felt pushed too hard but was definitely challenged. She is definitely attentive and a great motivator! Great studio in an old house that’s a short walk from downtown Nashville. Definitely recommend the studio.

I spent Memorial Day Weekend in Nashville with friends from out of town - everyone else in my group left early Monday morning, and I had the whole day to spend in Nashville until my flight that night. I was sooo excited to find a yoga studio (with showers and space to keep my luggage!) that was offering classes on Memorial Day. Once I got there, everyone was super friendly and Murn helped me get situated with a mat and towel. The class I had signed up for was very full, so I joined the overflow class upstairs that they had opened, and I really appreciated being in a less crowded space and out

Definitely one of my go to spots for yoga-love the Shiva classes on Tuesday and Thursday with Nicole. So many of the teachers are wonderful - the quick paced vinyasa classes are a good cardio workout. All are welcoming and warm.
Not a lover of the heat as I get light headed so try to be close to a window for coolness.
Even if it wasn't warm, with the pace of the class you'd work up a sweat.

First and foremost, this place smells amazing - you feel relaxed just walking in. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the space is large. Classes take place downstairs or upstairs and there's a clean locker room with two showers. I've gone for restorative and hot yoga and like the former much better, as their hot yoga classes can get pretty crowded and it's no fun trying to avoid kicking or hitting someone while holding a pose. I'd also recommend bringing your own mats as it does cost $2 to rent one, and they're not always fresh smelling (as expected from collecting

I recently moved out of Nashville, and the most devastating part of that was leaving this wonderful studio.
The classes, more or less, fall into two categories here - those in the Shakti room, which are hot Baptiste-style Power Yoga classes, and those in the Shiva room, which are unheated Dharma and Ashtanga classes. Both are great! The teachers here are SO damn good - Lauren, Kelly, Chris, Adrian, Keri, Krista, Nicole, Koula - these people really know what they're talking about. They're also great people, and possibly more than any other studio I've ever attended, these teachers

My group of 7 women did a private class as part of a bachelorette weekend. It was easy to schedule via phone and emails. We loved our experience. The staff was so friendly! Our instructor was awesome. The studio is adorable. Several of us said that the yoga class was the best part of our weekend in Nashville.

Pros - instructors are nice and knowledgable. Definitely get a good work out.
Cons - WAY to CROWDED for a high heat class.
Only have a few inches between mats. Constantly trying to focus on not knocking into the person next to you (or getting knocked into) as oppose to relaxing and focusing on your breath. Your mat gets soaked with other's sweat. Teachers also do partner work, or ask you to use your partner for support which is pretty gross in a hot yoga class where everyone is dripping in sweat. I love the high heat and the detoxifying benefits of sweat but the overly crowded environment

The Shakti house is gorgeous. It's truly a lovely space to do yoga. Overall, it probably has the best digs in town. The changing room is okay, it also has a dampness to it, but that is to be expected in an old Victorian. The real winner is the yoga room and the teachers. The front room has great light, a dream catcher, and a casual, airy feel. It's easy to get lost in the flow when you are in such a great space. A warning though, it can get really, really hot in there. The windows pull in the sun and the packed classes can really up the temperature. This is another studio where you will

My favorite yoga studio in Nashville. You get the benefits of hot yoga classes as well as regular yoga in one place. The rooms do not have mirrors, so you're able to focus on your poses and breath without constantly staring at the mirror comparing your poses to others. The instructors are calming yet motivating and sometimes even inspiring. The best is Murn. She knows how to get you to enjoy the burn.
Highly recommend checking out the $5 community classes or 30 days for $30 deal if you're not ready to make the membership plunge or just visiting. Classes can be easily scheduled online

All of my yoga practice has been self taught, and this is the first yoga class I've ever been to. It was such a beautiful, strengthening, and mindful experience. I've never felt so connected to a group of strangers before. I was pleasantly surprised when a cold towel with, what I think was lavender, was placed on my forehead during Savasana. I will definitely be back, and I will definitely tell all of my friends. Honestly such a beautiful experience. Thank you.

Visited here last year while on a short vacation to Nashville. I'm headed back in a month and just thinking about how thrilled I am to return to this sweet studio.
For a first timer I felt welcomed, and their special is awesome. The space is roomy in the lobby so you don't feel cramped or rushed. I did a hot class, definitely vinyasa but I can't remember what it was called specifically. Typical to other vinyasa classes I've done- it was challenging enough.
One thing about this place is it gets very busy. The room was used in every space with barely room to flip your dog

I've only been here once, so keep that in mind when you see this review.
PROs:
The instructor and everyone else created a welcoming and friendly environment. Before the class started, Chris told us to turn around saying hi to people around us. People were also genuinely nice, smiled, and said goodbye to me afterwards.
CONs
Crowded - Too crowded. I am used to practicing in yoga studios with large space and probably 10-15 students max. I find that kind of space more calming and beneficial for my practice and my mood. This is just the opposite of that. You literally touch your neighbors

As an avid yogi practicing almost every day, it was only natural to look up a studio in Nashville when I was in town for a few days! The reviews I read were really helpful in swaying my decision to choose this studio.
Here are some of my top reasons why I loved this studio:
-Sweaty 1 hour morning classes. Perfect amount of sweat in their heated studio. (Note, they do offer 90 minute classes as well but I found the 60 minute timeframe to be precisely what I needed.)
-Accompanying Music. The first class I took was all Justin Timberlake. Perfectly in tune with it's gonna be MAY (since
