Small World Yoga Community Studio
Baptiste Power Yoga Nashville is an accredited training program recognized by Yoga Alliance. We offer 200-hour and 300-hour teacher training programs, teacher development workshops, and other courses. Our curriculum is holistically designed to provide our students with the tools and experience necessary to expand their power yoga practice, confidently teach a power yoga sequence, and also learn how to step into their own personal greatness.

We are a 200-hour Registered Yoga School (RYS) through Yoga Alliance. This means Baptiste Power Yoga Nashville has met the national credibility standards, so upon completion of our 200-hour teacher training program, you are eligible to register for your 200-hour certification through Yoga Alliance.
Services
Our growing team of 130+ instructors serve over 2,000 children, women and men at 100+ Nashville-area locations each month! Classes vary from summer and after-school youth programs, to all-ages public library sessions, to recovery groups for adults and seniors. Since 2014, SWY has reached thousands of participants, sharing the enjoyment and benefit of yoga to our diverse Nashville community.
Small Word Yoga believes it is our diverse mix of voices that create compassionate, connected, and inspired communities. We strive to create a culture that allows everyone to fully and authentically be themselves, regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or physical and mental ability.
Ahead of the 2020 Music City Yoga Festival, Tuwanda Coleman of 'Talk of the Town' chats with Executive Director Liz Veyhl about Small World Yoga's work in the community and some simple and effective yoga poses to help relieve stress anywhere. Live Be Yoga: This Nashville Studio Is Showing the Yoga World How to Make $5 Classes Sustainable.
Our community of Small World Yoga teachers are trained in a variety of yoga styles, including Baptiste-inspired, restorative, and yin yoga. Many teach at local yoga studios around town, but each chooses to donate their time and practice to individuals that may not fit the typical yoga studio student.
We are excited to partner with our friend Nielah Burnett at her brand new space, InnerG Juice & Yoga, located at 1807 9th Ave N, 37208. SWY will offer a limited schedule of daily yoga classes at InnerG, led by your regular SWY teachers. Please note, if we do not have anyone registered at least 1 hour before class starts, we will cancel the in-person class.

Positive: Quality
This organization is incredible! The yoga studio is quality space with top notch instructors, great heat. And the mission and outreach that this yoga community extends, putting on hundreds of yoga classes each month for free all over the city is incredible. And each studio class is just $5? Hard to beat that.

SMY is an outstanding organization. Their studio is small, but clean and sweet and welcoming. Not one ounce of pretension here, folks. You can take a class for as little as a $5 donation...and feel good knowing that the money goes toward outreach programs in schools, prisons, libraries, and community centers. Nobody tries to push you toward a package or merchandise... oh, and just in case you're wondering, there is a lavender-scented cold towel placed by your mat in the last 5 minutes of class. Sometimes that alone is worth the challenge of hot yoga!

I did my first class at Small World Yoga yesterday and fell in love. The class was the Power Yoga from 6-7 (HIGHLY RECOMMEND).From the moment I walked in the staff was so friendly and ready to help me get started for class. Class was VERY hot (like they said 90-95 degrees) at first I was worried about it but the second you start doing the yoga poses you forget how hot it is. For someone who rarely does yoga, it was a challenging but I was able to keep up with everyone. I will definitely be coming back once a week and encourage anyone who is wanting to try yoga to try the power flow class.

First time here today and it kicked my butt in the best possible way. I took the noon power class and it was an awesome introduction back into yoga after being sedentary for about 2 months. It was challenging but fulfilling. The instructor led in a fun way and definitely knows stuff. She was very lovely to talk to after class as well. The best part is the money they make goes towards bringing yoga to schools, prisons, etc. This is definitely my new yoga home!

One of my favorite things to do when I travel is jump in a hot yoga class. I decided upon SWY because of the community outreach they provide.
I'm so glad we chose small world yoga, the flow had great energy and Keenan was such a helpful instructor. It was my boyfriends first time in any yoga class and first time HOT yoga ever. It's not Bikram hot but the room is still a nice steamy temp. Anyway, he felt very comfortable there. The class was packed and had all levels. Thanks again, hope we can stop by again soon!
