These apartments are in a super nice location at a reasonable price adjacent to campus! Super spacious buildings with plenty of parking and a really nice gym. Along with being next to the scenic Red Cedar they are planning to have a kayak launch soon. I would definitely recommend the Red Cedar Flats for anyone!

Red Cedar Flats is a great option for MSU students to choose to live at. This place caught my eye when choosing where I would like to live for the upcoming school year. These newly renovated apartments have a fresh and great appearance from the outside. I really love how this place has free parking, a brand new renovated gym, and affordable floor plans, and how every bedroom is connected to it's own bathroom!

This place is becoming increasingly frustrating to live at after only one semester. Even though the apartments seem modern, there are so many issues underneath the surface. The design of the sinks is impractical and causes them to not drain properly at all. The water in the sinks, showers, and kitchen faucets throughout the apartment has been lukewarm at best since we have started living here in August -- and after multiple times mentioning this to the office staff and maintenance there has been no attempts to fix it or offer any explanation.
Before we even moved in, we were facing issues trying

Beware!
My son n moved out of his apartment at the end of the lease in July. Supposedly the security deposit refund was processed August 30 ( ok, one month not bad). However, on September 15when I inquired about the refund, management asked for a forwarding address. I gave them the address. Fast work to October 13, still no refund check. Now they claim they mailed the check early September ( yet did not have a forwarding address until September 15 - fancy that) then they claim other refund checks are coming back with bad addresses. So , moral of the story - beware! They won’t refund the security

It’s unfortunate- you go to college to get a formal education, but while you’re there you are forced to deal with scheming property management companies and their employees, alongside poorly made buildings. This was an awful experience, and I hope you read this carefully prior to signing.
Nice looking buildings, but they’re very cheaply made. The bathroom sinks don’t drain properly. Maintenance will take their sweet time getting to you- if they come at all. Additionally, the grill area will hardly be able to be used in the summer due to consistently lengthy maintenance and an empty propane

Property management is highly unprofessional! No one gets their security deposit returned and you’ll be harassed if you inquire why. You’ll be threatened if you post a negative review.

I just completed a 12 month lease here at the 5030 building. The management team and quality of service are outstanding. Maintenance was fast, and the office staff were knowledgeable and kind. Dan does an outstanding job as grounds keeper with a high attention to detail. DJ is a one of a kind phenomenal manager. You will not regret leasing here and there is a reason they fill up fast. Good luck finding any form of student housing that is even remotely close to this level of quality.

Don’t be deceived by this posh, brand new, impressive apartment building. They’ll very quickly take your money, deposit it, and disappear until they want more money. They do not return emails, do not return phone calls, yet there’s always people in the office?!! Received in writing, a written commitment that our security deposit would be refunded to us, yet never received it. We were repeatedly told, “it’s in the mail, coming next week, etc”. My child was never given a copy of the lease, even after requesting it numerous times. Like I said, nobody answers the phone, so my child made

My son leased an apartment here for the 2020 school year. He subsequently needed to back out. THe landlord said he had a waiting list and would refund the security deposit. They even sent an email confirming that they were refunding it and were sending it soon. Well, fast forward 7 months later, and every time we call, the check is either "with accounting" or "coming soon" or some other BS response. Also, my son was never given a copy of the lease at signing or when we requested a few months ago. PROCEED CAREFULLY WITH THIS PROPERTY!

Apartments are nice and new, but poorly made. We had to have a number of things repaired while we were living there. Ie sinks that don’t drain, cupboards that fell apart, the front door knob was put on backwards so for the first month we couldn’t lock our apartment properly as the knob could be removed from the outside. More than anything management is unprofessional, confrontational, unreliable, disorganized and condescending. We were asked multiple times for forms or deposits that had been made, they thought we were moving out a month before we were set to move out and after more than month

This is my 4th year at Red Cedar Flats. I have been living at one of their apartments since the 1st day they opened in 2017. I benefit from the accessibility features in my unit, such as the roll-in shower. In my experience, available accessible units with such features have been extremely difficult to find, particularly off campus, and I was very happy to find the housing accommodations that I needed at Red Cedar Flats. I also work at MSU, so the location is perfect due to its proximity to campus. Friendly management is always just a phone call, or an e-mail away. Furthermore, Dan - the maintenance
