Where do I start? First Amy you are the worst sales property agent I've ever encountered it's amazing how you still have a job here with your mean attitude. You lied to me and my partner I even talked to your rude Boss Maria. Both rude as hell they can't even educate their applicants correctly I was told I am able to continue apply for other properties that they have unfortunately Amy forgot to mention one you apply and are denied then your 30 dollar app is now worth nothing. Negative stars especially Amy she is rude and unprofessional she puts you on hold for 15 mins and hangs up on you and doesn't answer when you try to call back ! Than sends a text saying I'm blocked for applying for 6 months after they asked to see all my personal documents ! Don't come to this place '! I will be contacting the owner they need new staff

They never answer the office phone, like ever. It takes decades for maintenance to come out and by the time they come out there's a million other things that have broken .& when I do get ahold of someone they tell me to write a maintenance request that they never responded to. I don't even know how they're still open for business. Terrible service 0/10. Our kitchen sink makes the gargling noise and backs up pretty often with the neighbors residue from their garbage disposal

I made an appointment to view 4 properties. I called them to advise I was going to be late due to traffic and rain. The man who answered the phone assured me it would either be him or Amy and someone would meet me there by 11:30. So I am exactly at 11:30 and waited for 15 minutes and still no one showed up. I actually called their office and the lady who picked up the phone said Amy should be there in a few minutes. She advised she was going to call Amy. Still no one showed up so I had to leave. I just called their office now and somehow I was advised she came a few minutes after I left? Really

BJ properties gets NEGATIVE 5 stars.
My good friend had the displeasure of renting an apartment from this slumlord property manager, Maria. The reason I can say this is due to the day she moved in the carpet smelled really bad, the whole time, she never had the carpet upgraded when clearly it was DESPERATELY needed.
Closet doors fell of hinges, constantly because they were metal pieces were broken; not just off the tracks.
BLACK MOLD under kitchen sink.

Absolutely the most unprofessional property management company I've ever dealt with. Perhaps much to do with the run down building that they manage that I'm currently living in - Ocean Blvd in Long Beach, however they employee less than adequate maintenance workers that have on more than one occasion left their tools, supplies etc. in my unit. Do not ensure common areas are kept clean or well lit. The building has been tagged by the building department for more than enough violations including windows, stairs, siding, electrical, dry rot and a laundry room that did not meet code. BJ had

DONT APPLY HERE THEY DONT WORK WITH ANYONE. I APPLIED AND THEY DENIED ME, I HAVE NO CREDIT AND I MADE 3 TIMES OVER THE RENT AND DENIED ME FOR NO REASON. THIS PLACE TOOK MY 70 BUCKS FOR A CREDIT CHECK AND NEVER RAN MY CREDIT. I ALWAYS GET CREDIT ALERTS WHEN SOMEONE CHECKS MY CREDIT. THEY POCKET YOUR MONEY.

I tried to apply for an apartment with them. I left work to look at it and filled out the application online, it would not allow me to enter my credit card for payment and then they told me the attachments were not there. I emailed the attachments and made a trip to their offices after hours to drop off a check, 40 miles round trip. Then called today and they could not even put all the information together. Then they told me they had already decided on a tenant for that property. All of the run around and hoops to jump thru for nothing. And all of this with a very unhelpful attitude. If I treated

I live at 4100 N. Marine. This week they refurbished the balconies and replaced air conditioning units. Not only was this a very positive step in property maintenance but this review is to commend the workmen who handled both. They were so courteous and very helpful in moving my patio furniture one day and coming back early the next to replace on balcony. The ac guys were equally courteous and efficient. I have lived here over a year and have found all the staff to be excellent starting with Chris, the manager, Dorian in charge of maintenance and Rosabla daily cleaning. Not sure I am spelling

I lived in a building owned by BJ Properties for 4 yrs. starting in 2009. My plumbing was always bad. Maintenance was never readily available, and took forever to respond to requests. Building had awful cockroach problems. Fleas were in the carpet. They rented to rude & loud tenants. The police were on my street every other night. They raised the rent but never fixed anything correctly. Owners just needed to care more about the tenants. Not sure how they are now, but from what I've read on other reviews.. Not much better. SMH.

I rented with this company for a few months and I am completely dissatisfied. For one, the manager Maria is VERY rude. Her husband Frank is a little more pleasant to speak to however, does not return phone calls nor emails. We spoke to frank before vacating our studio and frank explained that in order to receive our security deposit back, we would have to clean the place and that we wouldn't be charged for paint. I would give this company 0 stars of possible. First off, my apartment in Hawthorne was INFESTED with roaches the day I moved in.
My oven, dishwasher, and heater were all decades old and didn't work. On top of the raggedy units they rent out, I was told my mother couldn't spend the night while visiting from out of town because "I'd get evicted for having overnight guest".
My manager was young and very inexperienced, showing me why my building had such a high turn around rate. I moved out after a few months because I couldn't take the lack of care & stupidity of the manager combined with the roaches

BJ Properties has been so good to me! They helped me get an awesome apartment that's family friendly and they are so attentive when something needs to be fixed. Both Frank and Maria are amazing and so nice! Thank you BJ Properties :-)
Also, with a shortage of rentals in Southern California overall right now this office is constantly busy so it might take a few tries via phone to get a hold of them because they are legitimately busy. They have an online portal where you can submit fix-it requests which they are really really responsive to as well.

Never ever do business with them. A friend lived at 5966 Naples Plaza. They were horrible! The lazy fat son of the office manager... and the girlfriend ...girlfriend of owner took over managing and it just repugnant. The fat one plays video games all day and does nothing to run it. Throws his babies dirty diapers our the back door and leaves them for days! The last manager Dorthy was awesome. They will screw you in deposits...run... don't walk! Worst in Long Beach for the few properties they represent! Never do business with them. I own many properties and buildings and can't express

Yea.. Looking for a rental and set up an appointment with a lady that is from the company as they manage this property in Cypress. Show up at 9 am on a Saturday and NO ONE was there. Call their number and only option is to leave a message. Seems to be the going rate for this flaky company. No thanks.

I used BJ properties to find a town house with a group of girls. They showed us a couple of 3 bed rooms, and we decided to apply for one (the lowest price option). The day we were suppose to sign the lease the owner of the property decided to sell and no longer rent it. We were bummed but they were able to talk to an owner of another property that we looked at (a much nicer one) and got us in within our budget! I had the displeasure of meeting Barbara Jean (BJ Prop) in 2000. The townhome I had been renting in Los Al for 5 years was sold. The new owners made the mistake of hiring her as their property manager. My first experience was a rental increase of $150.00 per month. I'm a responsible pet owner and at the time had a dog and a cat. She made the remark to me upon our first face to face meeting that "the only good cat is a dead cat". I couldn't believe her gall.
