This is a well built building (built like a high rise) but has only 5 floors which makes it easy to access your apartment or exist when elevator does not work. It has excellent high quality amenities including washer and dryer in each apartment and very important for me hardwood flooring instead of carpeting. Every apartment has a balcony and you get a your own parking place in a secure parking garage below. My studio apartment is also well positioned near the elevator, stairs, recycling and garbage chute and yet noise is not the problem from these features. Management has been quite good overall

Appx Three weeks ago the Alara Apartments located in Uptown/West Village started an inhumane roosting deterrence targeting pigeons. The property management, Greystar has not denied the administering poison on their rooftop and have justified their protocol as being legal. Regardless of their actions being within the legal scope of the law it is inhumane. I have videos and pictures of not just pigeons suffering or have suffered death by poisoning or hit by vehicles because they are not able to fly but also, hummingbirds, doves, black birds and other bird species. I have witnessed a hawk in distress

Do you like the sound of songbirds? A bird perched on your window? If you care about animals or birds, or if you have children or pets, make sure to ask Alara about how they treat local birds. I was horrified when I heard from someone who lives in the neighborhood. I am waiting to lease a new unit myself but PASS ON ALARA.

I've lived here for almost 2 years and I've finally found a place that feels home. The office staff has been extremely professional every time I needed assistance. The office manager Kelly B assisted me with a personal issue and truly made me feel like I was a valued member of the community. I've worked/lived in uptown for a decade and Im honestly upset that the reviews here are so low. There are several options in the greater uptown area but if you want to be treated right and as an actual person and not just a "rent payer" then I'd advise looking the Alara up

They leave poison pellets to kill the pigeons in the area, but this affects other widlife as well like squirrels and other birds. Also dogs in the community that accidentally eat these pellets on their walk could get poisoned as well!!! When I called the receptionist to calmly tell them these pellets could also be affecting the dogs in the community she hung up the phone! Very rude

Alara Uptown has been baiting birds with poison for months, maybe even years. This severely impacts all wildlife and even domestic animals in the area. There are dead and dying birds all over West Village. Dallas Animal Services investigated and confirmed they are indeed poisoning the birds, but unfortunately, DAS do not have jurisdiction over this ordinance.

This place should be moved out of Uptown. Garbage leaking out of the broken dumpsters all summer that they leave out in the middle of the road.
Management lives on site and walks by it to the dog park every day. Is very good at being rude to people.
Staff slams the dumpsters as loud as they can at 7am sharp everyday so if you live anywhere on the back side of the property dont plan on sleeping in.
There are so many nice places to live that are run properly - dont try to save a few bucks by living here and being treated like the dumpsters they dont take care of.

It was absolutely a nightmare of an experience dealing with this leasing office. At times, I could not tell if I was being purposefully mislead or dealing with complete incompetency. Either way, it cost me so much stress, time, and MONEY! Do not trust anything you are told in person, better yet, avoid Alara altogether.

After quite a time trying to get our lease properly signed and shortly after moving in, my roommate and I experienced maybe 2-3 fire alarms per week. Not a fun start! Then my car (in the gated parking garage and assigned spot) got broken into, I asked the front desk to view camera footage and they said they didn't have cameras. Fair enough. 2 months later, my car got stolen from the same assigned spot in the gated parking garage. Alara is one of the best apartments I have ever lived in & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment in Dallas! I have lived at Alara now for a year coming up in June & just resigned my lease for another 13 months. Kelly, Jessica, Alexis & Nick are so kind & helpful. They ACTUALLY care about their residents & will do everything possible to make sure Alara feels like home. This week they dropped a little gift at everyone's door & sent a message that said "We Miss You" & I can tell you, that was 100% genuine & they actually do.

I have lived at Alara for almost a year, and WOW. Kelly and Jessica are amazing. This is the best apartment i have lived in in Dallas and it is well managed. You can't beat the location, walking distance to just about everything--no need to drive on weekends. The complex is very clean, maintenance staff is quick and efficient and you can't beat the updated interiors. This apartment is quiet and my neighbors are very friendly and respectful. I'm a current resident here and below are some of my own observations of my experiences living at Alara. Living at this apartment has been one of the worst experiences of my life. Car break-ins, fire alarms and broken elevators are the norm. My car got broken into in the parking garage and my golf clubs and other things were stolen. In the past few weeks alone, I have seen multiple other cars with shattered windows and glass all over the ground. If you'd like to be completely MISERABLE and absolutely HATE where you live, then WELCOME TO HELL!!!! You deal with unreliable staff, miscommunication, and dirtiness at this place. Your car either be easily stolen or broken into. Do not recommend to live here whatsoever!!!

Loud appartement complex (tons of semis and construction vehicles circulating by)
NO VISITOR ALLOWED (unless you get there before 5pm -good luck, they close early- to ask for a 1 day visitor pass. Otherwise YOU WILL GET TOWED. It happened to my girlfriend because she came over late. And also, no surveillance in the visitor parking so forget about parking a motorcycle, it will get stolen in no time)
Dirty (pigeons everywhere in the outside common areas, dusty inside areas)

This apartment complex towed my husband's car even though we had parked in the designated visitor parking area when we were visiting our friend who lives there. Please see attached pictures for how the visitor parking garage is obviously designated. There are no additional signage stating that we needed any designated pass to park there. We parked where the apartment building marked that visitors should park and they still towed us. On top of that, they reported that they called the towing company, but it's been over 12 hours and the towing company has no reports that they towed this
