I really like being at the Blairs community. It is close to the metro, a supermarket, CVS, etc. and I think that the area is safe. You should reconsider coming here to live if you are interested in using their advertised amenities - and a few other things.
I’ve been living at Blairs East since March 2020. Understandably due to Covid, there were restrictions put in place. However at this time (it is currently November, 2021), we still don’t have access to our club rooms without permission, only one of our computers in our computer room work (they have been out of service for months), we are

This place is phenomenal! Nick Holden and Jason Roloff were super helpful and informative, with their customer service being top tier! I managed to secure my apartment within 24 hours after doing a virtual tour, and the process was so easy and clear cut! I recommend this place 10000% and S/O to the agents for their wonderful service again!

They get two stars because the front desk and maintenance staff are really great. Management on the other hand doesn't even deserve one star.
Blair East residents have been treated to over a month of extremely loud (60-70 decibels on average in my apartment with peaks above 90 decibels) roof work. The noise frequently lasts for hours and sometimes begins before 9 AM ET and management has shown no concern for providing residents on upper level floors with apartments that are livable without noise cancelling headphones. I understand that maintenance work is inevitable, but management has routinely

Good location. Close to metro and shopping center. Maintenance is ok. They will come and put a "band aid" on your issue. They have construction going on the rooftop right now. TERRIBLE! Loud noise, drilling, loud workers outside of your door in the early morning hours. This is something they should have fixed a long time ago! Residents pay for convenience. Not inconvenience. Look somewhere else.

The building is great, maintenance and lobby staff are great. Anything to do with management is a mess. This is an edit of a previous review I left in order to get managements attention so I could get my FOB back when emails and phone calls and visits to the front desk were not helpful. There has been awful construction noise for over a month and they just started offering anything to support with that. In the last 10 ? days the fire alarm has gone off 3 times, requiring evacuations and there was only communication from the building after one of those times. I had 5 migraines in December from a

I loved living in the Blairs and it far surpassed my expectations! You may be worried based on the negative reviews here, but I feel there is a bias to post negative information even though I know there are a lot of happy tenants. I lived here from 2018 until the end of 2019. Here are the things I love about the Blairs:
- The rooms are very spacious at a good price, while being basically across the street from the metro. (Around summer 2018, we saw prices like $1500-1700 for 960 square feet).
- If you work for the government, ask for a government discount!
- Utilities are included except electricity

Extremely loud and they take too long to turn the AC/heat on (central) so you are forced to open your windows. Feels like I live right next to a busy airport when the windows are open.
The elevator situation is out of control! More often than not, there’s only one or two elevators working for the entire building! During COVID only one person/household is allowed per elevator, imagine the wait!

Great location thats close to the metro and grocery store, and holds tons of events for families, pet owners, and 20-somethings. No issues with smoke, they're proactive with pest control. and management has been very responsive.
A few issues should be noted. Parking is extra, and difficult to come by for any guests you have over. The transition from A/C to heating and vice versa is controlled by management, and they wait until they absolutely have to to switch.

The location is good - close to the Metro, not far from the Beltway, close to Rock Creek Park - but this building has issues. It is loud and the windows are very old and cheap. They rattle every time the wind blows and are really drafty. The building has chronic issues with its elevators. In the three months we have lived here, I don't think all four of the elevators have been operational at once. Several times, only one elevator is running. Its really frustrating and when I bring it up to the front desk, I get an unsympathetic, let alone helpful response. I did not sign up for a ninth floor walkup

This building has some serious maintenance issues. We moved in three months ago and there has not been a time when all the elevators have been in service at the same time. In talking with other residents, they tell me that the building has been in decline for some time and that the management does not prioritize safety and accessibility like they did in the past which is a shame because there are many older residents and residents with young children including my family. A resident was trapped in the elevator one night and had to be rescued by the fire department.

My Initial interaction with The Blair's was Awesome Eric Palmer is my leasing consultant and her customer service still remains great. My issue is with another leasing agent by the name of Sarah that I spoke with on the telephone because I had a question about my deposit,
I should have waited for Erica because Sarah was aggressive and rude to say the least we even got into a screaming match which lead into me speaking to Nichole from the business office that resolved everything by providing the correct answers to my questions which Sarah failed to do because she was to busy trying to get

Blair East Apartments is one of a series of Blair's owned properties that includes the other namesake apartments as well as The Pearl. Each of these apartment buildings is erected in DTSS and in close proximity to the Silver Spring metro station.
Blair East is an older apartment building relative to some of the newer developments in the DMV. The building and apartments are recently renovated, and the result is a mix of square footage and layout from the past and modern/updated finishings.
The staff do a great job. You feel that in two ways regularly: 1) The maintenance staff are respectful

Horrible Management: After informing the leasing office that I would be vacating at the end of my 9 month lease, I was told that they require a written 60 day vacate notice. I was not explicitly informed of this when signing my lease nor was I given any sort of a reminder. The property manager and business office staff were extremely unresponsive and dismissive with a "know it all" attitude. It took weeks in order to hear back from the Property Manager. Not the service you expect paying their high rent.

It's been three more years since my last review and we are back where we started. We are now in the process of moving out because we have grown tired of the lies from the Property Manager.
Staff: The front desk staff in the building is great for the most part. Some of the weekend staff really are clueless. The Business Office staff though are largely unresponsive and will lie to you. First, in 2012, I complained that the pet policy required that those with cats must have them declawed, which is incredibly inhumane (it is like cutting your own finger off at the first knuckle). I was promised

I have lived here for one year.
The good: great location and nice building concierge.
The bad: upgraded apartments appear visually pleasing however upgrades were done with poor quality materials and work; this results in something constantly breaking- towel racks fall down etc. It takes a very, very long time for maintenance issues to be resolved. If there is more than one issue, one may get resolved months after the other and will require multiple maintenance request submissions. The floors are apparently very thin and noise from the apartments above is very loud. The manager for Blair East

I have lived in the Blair East Building for the past year and I literally have 0 complaints.Let me tell you all the great things about this place:
1) Extremely clean - the facilities are very well kept including the gym, laundry rooms, club rooms, computer lab and outdoor areas
2)Tons of parking for friends - If you have people come visit you, don't fret, they won't have to worry about finding parking at all. There is a parking lot on East West Highway that is free after 7pm and all day on the weekends. If you need to park during the day, just pay the meter. There is pretty limited visitor

This place is terrible! Overpriced with shotty service. If your rent gets increased, you'll know it is because they're renovating, again. Have a car? Dont bother paying for a parking spot in the lot, you could get towed anyway. That happened twice to my brand new car last year (that had proper stickers for the building) because the security did not recognize the vehicle and were too lazy to get out of the prius they drive around in too quickly in a busy parking lot. Ready to move out quickly?! Dont expect the security deposit in a timely fashion. Mine took nearly 6 weeks and dozens

This is a terrible place to live. Don't be fooled by the deals or IF the price sounds reasonable. My rent was raise 10%... yeah, I typed it correctly. 10%. Parking free? Nope! $75 per month for one car. One car is super family friendly. Oh, and the new parking spaces are going to the new residences first. Current renters have the option of getting one but it's not required until 2012. So parking currently sucks, but I guess the solution is to force the current residence to pay and compete for a spot now.
Awesome business model - be as crappy to good renters so they leave

Again No Water!! Its 4:20pm and I woke up this morning and no water! I can shower or anything. I am shocked and appalled with Blair's Management! It's unfair that the apartment turns off the water on a regular basis without any notices! The Management team doesn't care about its disable, elderly, or students residents that live in the building. Towers Management team thinks its okay to shut off with water without notices of any kind for two years! Water problems do not take that long to fix. Every time you turn off the water I get really sick! I am sure it comes from the fact

So I live here. And this place is seriously awful.
My hallway looks like the hallway in The Shining. I should have taken that as a sign and stayed away.
Something is always broken. Currently it's my ice dispenser, shower, and internet cable. Which got broken while they were installing the FIRE HORN in my apartment. And apparently I'm going to have to pay RCN to come fix.
So the fire story: about a year ago, the apartment 2 floors above mine caught fire at about 4am. I notice this only because I hear the fire trucks outside. I call down to the front desk to find out what is going on.
