New Sheriff in town and his name is Jason. He’s absolutely amazing. He called personally about my issues with the apartment, was able to deliver solutions to all of them and has kept in touch to make sure there is follow through on the solutions. The rental staff helped us feel welcomed to the city. Our realtor found this place for us and negotiated the details and handled the move in. When we arrived, People’s Gas had not turned our heat on, but the Becovic management ensured we had heating until People’s Gas was able to turn it on. If I could rate Becovic a zero I would. From the beginning even before signing I had an altercation with someone from the office. Her attitude was nasty and disrespectful. We were overcharged in my opinion with all the secret hidden fees before moving in and paid close to 3,000 dollars. Our rent was and is currently 1950, too much money to ask for the poor living conditions. Starting within the week we moved in, we realized everything was poorly put together. I grabbed a drawer and it fell into my hands, I opened my microwave and the handle came off, I turned if the kitchen faucet and the handle

I am absolutely THRILLED with Becovic as our property company. When we moved in, we were floored by how the unit looked even nicer than when we had our walkthrough. We also love how responsive and helpful they are with issues. On anything from minor maintenance to larger complaints, they are very quick to respond and even follow up to make sure you are satisfied after they resolve the issues. Becovic acts like their units are super fancy bc they put some stainless appliances and fancy linoleum down but they’re deeply stingy when it comes to things that matter. I moved in last September and have been begging them to fix the elevator since then. I have a degenerative joint disease and have impaired mobility and can’t take the stairs. The elevator certificate is expired with code violations. There’s a terrifying cage door that sticks so badly I’m covered in bruises from fighting with it. The outer doors of the elevator are so heavy and hard to open that it’s painful to use. The

While the staff at Becovic are great, they are not completely transparent about their units. I live in one of their buildings in Rogers Park. Because the building is on the alley, I get woken up at 7 am 3-4 times a week during garbage collection and from other noise even though I asked during the tour how loud it usually gets. I am miserable and have to deal with my sleep being interrupted for the next 6 months. If you like sleep, choose somewhere else to live.

I don’t typically leave reviews, kids, don’t have the time, but I couldn’t help but make time for this one! Erik Jenkins has really added to my already positive experience with Becovic. He has gone above and beyond to address and resolve my issues, big or small, and done so professionally and promptly! IE one of the many things he has done- I had a dryer fire just before closing, and also the night before I was leaving on a long vaca. Due to his efficiency I was able to get all my laundry done before my trip and I came home to a brand new dryer! Every time I have an issue I know I can count

Between the responsive building management for maintenance, on time rent payment credit reporting, and the online portal... I'm going to really miss living in a building with such professional, empathetic and and competent staff! If not for the need to relocate for work, I likely would have stayed. I really did enjoy living in that unit. Jessica Diaz in management really helped me to navigate maintaining my lease during the begining of the pandemic. I am super grateful to her and the rest of the Becovic staff. Highly recommended.

Cooper at Becovic Management could not have been more helpful during my renting experience. He always showed a sense of urgency when I had an issue. EDIT: becovic had the nerve to send an email reminding tenants to mindful of the "noise emanating" from their units since a lot of people are still working from home given COVID....yet, all the awful noise throughout the day is caused by THEM and the months-long construction. We're talking, wall vibrating, light fixture shaking noise. They want us to be considerate when we're the ones living in a construction zone? Ridiculous.

I booked a unit on the lake front for 8 days as I am traveling across country from California to Chicago to see my best friends newborn. The group confirmed and communicated that everything was confirmed, and 5 days from check in, they requested to move us to a different unit. The other unit didn't have the same amenities as the one we originally booked (you can just compare on their website), and so we requested to stay in the original booked unit.
They then said nope sorry, we are cancelling this reservation and can't accommodate because of "communication"

I live at 6001 N. Kenmore. This is my second time living here and I regret it. I've had to complain at least four times about my neighbor playing loud bass thumping music well after midnight. Nothing has changed. I've killed my fair share of roaches and TODAY, the maintenance team decides to strip and varnish the wood floors next door leaving my apartment wreaking with nauseating fumes. Tenants did not receive any notice of work nor was consideration given to tenants with respiratory issues. It's currently 5:14pm, they are adding another coat which means more fumes. I'm booking

Was not told about refacing of building before moving in. Have been deprived of sleep because of construction before allowed legal times. Rude office people. Made big deal about package security and don't do anything about it. Built room for packages but have photos of them leaving packages outside of secured room. Made an appointment with Carlee, which was a mess as she only went over a 3D layout of the apartment.
She requested us to come back to the complex hours later which compensated for that, but she ended up just sighing and texting on her cell phone the entire time.
Application process was insane.
An application is needed along with 3 recent pay stubs and an Employment verification.
Since I do work for a large company she had to call the employee verification

DO NOT USE BECOVIC! We have had nothing but issues with getting someone to our apartment to fix our unit. We are clean freaks, but that doesn't mean anything to the black mold growing in our bathroom and the ceiling and wall caving in. They promise to send someone to fix it, never call, never show and no one follows up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Run in the opposite direction. This has been going on for months.

I'm at 4875 N Magnolia. Fun place to live if you don't mind the mold and water dripping over your bed. Going on 23 days and still no fix.
Update: 6/8/19
I ended up moving out. Aside from the leaking roof and mold which was never fixed, the last few storms compromised the windows. Water started leaking in.
Add to that incredibly noisy downstairs neighbors who blast music as early as 6am up until 2am on the weekends was a no go from me. It's a section 8 rental below unit #408 (where I lived), which isn't a deal breaker had it not been for the noise, excessive yelling, screaming

The old buildings in Chicago are not without their challenges. Ambar in the office is attentive to the residents and very sweet.
I love my building and my beautifully remodeled apartment. The building is very well taken care of by the maintenance team, service requests always addressed quickly. I give them A+ for my apartment and my building.
