While new apartment complexes pop up all around Richmond, The Locks continues to offer the coveted converted warehouse experience in an unbeatable location. The community has been well maintained and my maintence requests are taken care of in a timely manner. The staff is wonderful and I'm so happy I found an apartment I love coming home to!

I haven’t lived on this property yet but the leasing agent DeBorah is fantastic. She literally has the best customer service skills, follows up to make sure you’ll find you an apartment in your pricing range, and the tour was nice!
The apartments are spacious and the hallways have nice interior designs.
(This means a lot to me because I came to this property before for a tour a year ago and I was refused a tour & shown photos, the lady Kia did not want to give me a tour. They have upgraded their staff and they are super friendly, most importantly they will actually help you find your new

This location is fantastic. The size of our apartment is good for the price. I feel safe walking around this community alone at night. Those are the positives.
The negatives: The apartment has spiders... very large and very numerous. I asked for extermination, and I still have spiders. The dishwasher smells like a moldy towel. I have run 'Finish' through it 3 times and I cleaned the filter. I logged a maintenance ticket and they replaced the motor. My dishwasher still smells like a moldy towel. The icing on the cake? This morning, I stepped on a cockroach while getting dog food out of the pantry

We live in The Locks tower, so I cannot speak for the other buildings (Alume, Italianate, etc). The tower is a pretty nice building, the floors are very thick (concrete) and overall it seems like a quiet and nice community. Although, I think we might have been lucky with the neighbors since I heard some other units being a lot louder or smoking weed.
If I had any complains it would probably be that you can slighly hear the traffic, but this only happens on the bedrooms since the windows on the living room cannot be open and are a lot thicker.
Overall, it's been a pleseant apartment and we are

Anyone that even has the slightest complaint about the Locks should wake up. Nothing but the absolute best, everything from the location, staff, willingness to help out the residents/guest are nothing but the best at the locks. The maintenance team performs more than exceptional service/work whenever called upon. I’m here to say that this is the best complex by far in all of the Richmond area.Nothing but hospitality at the locks. I couldn’t see why anyone would have anything to complain about!
