I moved in 4 months ago. I like the place, it's calm and yes the maintenance people are very responsive and helpful. So far had a good experience. We recently received emails regarding the removal of public laundry facility they have. I would suggest if they put in a pool table in the community office for the residents, that’s only thing they are missing.
But at the same time not feeling positive by seeing the comments of the past residents who moved out because everyone complains that the leasing office charges falsely about the carpet. I hope it doesn't happen to me. So far so good.

Hello I too have been hit with Replacement of the carpet due to damages...Lies and unpaid pet fees We did not and have not ever owned a pet. The current Property manager Alicia Poindexter will not return my calls. But that is ok. It is just ridiculous how high the rent is. Things go fairly well while you live here but when you move out they try all kinds of schemes to get more money out of you. It is such a terrible shame....Highly disappointed with this.

STAY AWAY!!
Lived at Berkeley for 6 years, had no issues at all living there, until move out. Like every other post about moving out, charging for a pet damage even though I never had a pet. (Friends pet stayed for 1 week) paid the 300 pet fee, still charging an additional 150 for damage to the carpet. Saying the carpet cleaning company said it's pet damage even though they kept sending me a generic invoice that is probably provided to every tenant leaving. Our move-in was very smooth. Everyone at the office is really nice and helpful. We had some minor maintenance requests which they got done really quickly! We are happy with Berkeley at Southpoint so far! Plus, I love being in the kitchen - the white cabinets and the new stainless steel appliances are gorgeous.

This is a gated community that has a very peaceful neighborhood. Grocery stores like walgreens and Harris Teeter are just a few minutes away by walk. The American Tobacoo trail is also just nearby.
The apartment maintenance is very prompt, and rental payments can be done online which is very convenient. The community has fully functioning gym as well. Overall I have had great two years at this place.

Although I am relatively new here, I have to say that I am happy here at Berkeley, and I hope to feel this way throughout my stay! My apartment is really beautiful, and my surroundings are a delight, especially with my view on the woods. Maintenance is extremely fast and refreshingly responsive! The rental office staff is very cordial and makes me feel right at home. I strongly recommend the Berkeley at Southpoint to anyone in the area looking for a real and cozy home!

I have been at Berkeley now for almost 4 years and I think that they do a great job. I went from a corporate apt to a standard 2 bedroom. They are currently remodeling so new renters get stainless steel and new flooring. (I didn’t give 5 stars only cause I want the upgrades!) The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. They respond quickly to service requests and also keep the grounds spic and span. Right before COVID (literally the weekend before lockdown) they replaced all the gym equipment so it is basically brand new. Overall a great place to live.

I moved to the Berkeley from a property a couple miles down the road and have been so pleased with the price, location, amenities, and most of all the friendliness and availability of the office staff. They have always been so helpful and clearly wanted to ensure I have had a comfortable living experience.
