The Phoropter has not changed much in the past 100 years. It is used to determine the prescription of glasses and contact lenses. There are now electronic ones, but we believe the standard design is still the best and most accurate. The Optos Retinal Scanner is a high speed scanning laser that enables our doctors to capture a real time image of your retina without being dilated.
Some insurance plans may cover all or a portion of your vision correction procedure. Our staff will be happy to work with you to determine the status of your insurance company's policy regarding laser vision correction. There are also certain insurance companies with whom we have discounts established.
It is now possible to treat virtually any refractive error. One of our doctors will let you know about the different treatment options available and whether or not you are a good candidate for refractive surgery. Along with your surgeon, we will formulate a treatment plan that suites your individual needs.

Got me in same day in the AM when I was worried it might be a serious problem. They were all very thorough and professional! I was very relieved to find out it wasn’t anything terrible after a thorough exam and giving me good info. This was definitely not something I could have gone to an ER for. Both optometrists there are outstanding and I highly recommend OakHill Eyecare!

Very well run office. Dr. Tabor was great. He explained everything well and didn't try to get me to buy anything I didn't need right now. Check out person is very patient. Witnessed her handling a difficult person over the phone. She handled it extremely well. I highly recommend this practice to anyone.

I need the world to know what an amazing, caring, and selfless professional Dr. Tybor is! I was power washing over the July 4th holiday weekend and (I'm embarrassed to admit this) wasn't wearing eye protection- I know, I know- I won't do it again. Of course, something got into my eye and I was dying. I rinsed it profusely, put in eye drops, etc. but no relief and was in a lot of pain and misery. I wasn't sure whether something was still in my eye or worse, if I had scratched my cornea. Sheepishly, I called the office at 6 pm on Sunday evening and was put through to Dr Tybor

I have worn glasses most of my life and this is one of the most thorough eye exams I have ever received. The Dr. Tybor was exceptional. He took his time reviewing my scans and personal history and made a thoughtful diagnosis. The office staff were professional and friendly. The office was clean and well maintained. I'm picky about my glasses, and was new to Austin. The glasses I was replacing when I went to so Dr Tybor were the best I have had in my (long) life. I told Dr Tybor that, and he said "I'm going to make you a pair of glasses that you like better". The glasses are very good. My sight is crystal clear. The "sweet spot" for the progressive lenses is perfect. It has been several months now, and I don't have a single scratch. I always get the scratch resistance, but still I usually have a scratch by now. Dr Tybor did what he said he was going to do, and made me a better

I was referred here by the optometrist I recently saw to get a baseline glaucoma exam (scary, I know! But I'm fine) From the moment I walked in everyone was super nice and friendly. The space itself was very nice, open and clean with ample places to sit and a huge selection of glasses (I didn't look at the brands or anything because I wasn't there to get glasses). Katy helped me with taking the actual exam stuff and she was very nice and explained what each machine did and what the tests did. After completing them all, I was sat in a room to wait for Dr. Tybor to come and go over

My wife and I have been to Oak Hill Eye Care for annual exams for the past few years, but this year. only a new (to us) doctor, Dr. David Tybor, had back-to-back exams available within the next few weeks that would fit into our schedules. And, I have to say, we were both delighted with our visit!
The Oak Hill support staff took us through all of the initial exams at half a dozen specialized vision analysis stations, and provided helpful insight at each to increase our comfort as we worked through the examination process. Then, we met Dr. Tybor.

I must preface this review by saying that I have a lot of anxiety about going to the optometrist. It bothers me to have my eyes messed with and previous doctors did not explain what they were doing & why. At every previous eye clinic, I had had a panic attack during the exam.

Really professional and friendly. The technology was fantastic and I really felt like each person I interacted with really knew what they were doing from the technician to the optometrist to the guy that helped me pick out glasses. This was my first time to meet with Dr. L and I was so happy that we had the chance. She explained my eye care to me thoroughly and told me of how she would like to proceed in future visits, what she was concerned about and how that would be addressed in the future. I have been seeing Dr. Payne for several years now and she has been exceptional in her professionalism and the service she provides.
However, she went above and beyond to be helpful when my son went through cataract surgery and needed help during follow up appointments.
I cannot recommend Dr. Payne highly enough!

Annual check up smooth as can be. From hello to checkout. Make your appointment ahead of your due date especially if you're like me. I'm limited on day and time I can come in. Jackie is Dr. Smith's assistant. She makes your appointment move quickly while still being efficient and professional.
