I began my yoga journey in 1997. As a mother of two toddlers, I found the mental and spiritual benefits of yoga equally important to the physical. Yoga made me happy and helped me feel whole. I studied, practiced and taught Astanga Yoga for several years before I received my 200 hour certification in Kripalu Yoga.
There are many cases where a private yoga session proves preferable to a group setting. Some children, teens and adults will special needs are overwhelmed by groups or new situations. Several private sessions may help transition these students to a group class. A private class may also benefit a student with significant physical limitations.
Regardless of our challenges, each human being is uniquely able to develop greater body awareness, physical and mental strength and well-being. Learn how yoga can benefit youth with a wide range of diagnoses including physical, developmental and/or learning disabilities such as Trauma, Anxiety and Depression, ADD, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome.
In an effort to replace the chemicals that are often used in our bodies and our homes, I have been using essential oils for nearly a year. As with many things, I still have so much to learn. What I do know, though, is that essential oils have been helpful for both my physical and emotional health. I'm enjoying the benefits of essential oils so much that I decided to become advocate to share them!
