The Pilates Room
The Pilates Room offers private and semi-private classes in Reformer and mat Pilates. Pilates targets back-pain issues, shoulder rehabilitation, and knee problems, and is an ideal exercise regimen for those who are dedicated to increased strength without impacting the joints. Tennis players, golfers, cyclists, and runners can improve core strength, muscle awareness, coordination, balance, and overall total body strength and flexibility.

Many satisfied customers have experienced significantly improved strength and flexibility using a consistent Pilates practice. Recommended by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Yoga offers numerous benefits including a stronger physical, mental, and emotional awareness. We are currently booking offsite Yoga classes for corporate clientele, athletes, beach Yoga, Yoga for kids, and Acroyoga.

Michele McCauley is a creature of movement with a passion for fitness, running, cycling, swimming, dancing, surfing, Yoga and Pilates. She leads a balanced healthy life incorporating fitness, nutrition, Vegetarian for Yoga, Vegan for Yoga, and cooking into everyday living.

Having studied with Kathy Van Patten at the Movement Center of Boston along with many good friends, students, fellow Yoginis, and a great mentor, Michele has a lot of experience to share with her clients.With a background and education in muscle anatomy, physical movement, body/mind connection, meditation, triathlon training, and food, cooking, and nutrition.
I would give 6 stars if I could. Michele really knows her stuff. As a beginner, with a fractured ankle, I found her to be very understanding, flexible and willing to modify exercises as needed. I can't believe how fast I've seen my strength increase and muscle definition show. She is a pleasure to work with - always in a good mood and keeps her studio in excellent condition!
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl, except the rosemary. Place the seasoned beets, garlic, and sweet potato onto a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or a piece of parchment paper onto a large baking sheet. Place sprigs of rosemary on top. Roast 45-50 minutes, stirring once halfway thru baking time.

I have been taking Pilates for several years and when we moved to Portsmouth, NH I was worried we couldn't find the caliber of instructor that we had in San Francisco. We were so fortunate to find Michele --- she is an excellent instructor! She focuses on form, is very patient, very knowledgeable and very encouraging. She has a sparkling personality --- you never walk away from a session without a smile on your face. I would strongly recommend as an instructor --- you will not be disappointed.

Excellent pilates class-even for beginners. I like the 1:1 instruction so much-a thorough training without the worry of getting injured.

I'm an active middle age woman, in the gym with a trainer for years. After Pilates with Michelle I feel muscles I never knew I had and can feel my core getting stronger with only 8 sessions. Michelle is a caring, knowledgeable instructor who I find gives cues and directions in a clear and engaging way, making the most of every session. You will be so happy after experiencing a Pilates session with Michelle! Highly recommend.

Had a great duet -- loved that it started with a sincere posture assessment so that it was actually working towards my particular challenges. I've done Pilates for six years, and I learned new things, I definitely built some new muscle, and I had a great time! Will for sure return when I'm back in town.

I love going to my Pilates session it's a great workout and fun.
I play tennis and have grandchildren, and Pilates keeps me strong and balanced . Michele is a true professional and always changes your sessions so you don't get bored, that's why I have been going for 2 years.

This is my first yelp review, but I felt strongly that I needed to share my experience with Michele at The Pilates Room. I was planning a bachelorette party for my sister in Portsmouth, and contacted Michele well in advance of the bachelorette weekend to see if she was available for a private beach yoga class for 10 people at 8:30 am on Sunday morning. Michele readily agreed, and we had a long conversation about logistics - where and when to meet, price, etc.

Two days before the date of the class, I called Michele, and explained that I had been looking at the weather forecast and was concerned

Michele is the best! I've gone to her studio for Pilates but she is also an incredible yoga instructor. She is extremely knowledgable in nutrition, health and wellness and has a vast array of knowledge to share. She is very dedicated and passionate about her Pilates and yoga practices.
