Cornerstone Residential

I am one of the original tenants at Gardner Station Apartments in Utah, and my furnace has broken 4x since December 20th, 2021. I have been told all they can do is bring me "space heaters" until they can get it fixed. According to the Utah Tenant Law, they have 24 hours to repair the faulty equipment. If they cannot fix the issues/repair in that amount of time, they are required to put me in a hotel. None of that has happened. This company has bought some properties in SD & already raised the rents on units by $200-$300 with no additional benefits. Claims it’s being competitive in the area. On the website it states call for price, code for rent changes daily. I’ll be moving when my lease is up to a place in the same area where I can at least have underground parking or a garage.

Nepotism runs rampant at Cornerstone. Took over a property that the Regional VP'S brother ran into the ground. There was, and still is a lot of money missing from the property, but I was told not to worry about it because she (his sister) had looked into it. Regional VP routinely violates fair housing laws and asks her employees to do the same. My Regional VP can't keep her employees...about 15 people started and quit because of the way she treated them within about a 1.5 year span. Corporate office didn't care. Twice in a row your EGate property management has been unable to remove snow within a 24-hour period. For such a simple task, this is unacceptable; it puts residents at risk and needs to stop being handled so casually.
First big snow storm of 2021 and EGate failed to remove snow from walkways and did not salt stairs and breezeways affected by the storm. You have 24hrs from when the snow ends and Cornerstone was unable to fulfill their contractual obligation.
It is funny how most of the 5-star reviews say they work for/with Cornerstone Residential. Conflict of Interests comes to mind. As a resident

Danielle at The Cove is amazing! I was really upset about an issue (nothing to with the apartments, more of another resident) and she was really good at calming me down and coming up with a solution. She is on top of her job and takes really good care of us residents.

Previously lived in twin creek apartments in Logan Utah and the landlord Kristen was very disrespectful and unkind about every situation. Charged us many times for things that we shouldn’t have had to pay for. We had constant mold issues that were painted over prior to our move in as well as multiple bug issues and she didn’t seem to care to fix it. Mold was an issue in quite a few apartments and nothing was done to fix any of them. We were told when we had brought it to her attention that it was mildew we had caused but mildew is not black and doesn’t grow back within days. Water damage

I moved into my apartment back on October and Cornerstone bought the building at the end of March. April 1st they kicked everyone around me out and asked me to terminate my lease. When I said I didn't have the money to get another place the lady straight up told me that "they were going to make our lives hell until we move" and that is exactly what they have done. This place is so unprofessional they sent someone into my apartment when I wasn't home. I have asked several times to speak to someone different with no response. I have lived at Brickgate since 2015.. The first management company prior to this last year were great. They always handled my maintenance request in a timely manner and the women that worked in the office were nice. Now with Cornerstone residential I have put in a request for maintenance 3 times and
nothing has been done. Overall the apartments have gotten worse and the women that work in the office now there rude and disrespectful and it seems as though they get off on how mean they can be to the residents it’s distrusting.
So think twice before moving here

Cornerstone has been an amazing management company, I have had experience with many management companies and so far I can honestly say that Cornerstone has been my favorite. They deserve a 5 star review, they are reasonable and down to earth. Very straight forward with lease and addenda. They have good people working for them - I appreciate everything their people do to keep properties clean and kept up, day in and day out. Overall great management !!

I have been a vendor for Cornerstone Residential for 2 years now. I have worked on 3 of their properties in the Southern Region. I have always been treated with respect by management, maintenance and residents. This company is a class act with amazing people who really care about the properties they work at, and the people who live there. I have been treated professionally, my employees are treated kindly, and I feel like my company and services are valued by Cornerstone, AND the property owners. It is always a pleasure to work on their properties!
