Extremely large units. Nice view of the entire city but quite loud due to business district. You can hear all of the traffic and not ideal for pet living due to no doggie park. Floor to ceiling windows are a plus but unfortunately not sound proof. They do have great free coffee for residents located in the lobby.

*This review is specifically for the maintenance staff at 8th and Hope.
I've been living here for a little over a year now and cannot stress enough how amazing the maintenance staff is. Everyone who has come into my unit to either fix the oven, blinds, or clean the patio due to pet urine from upstairs has been phenomenal in not only getting the job done but going beyond my expectations. The maintenance team is one of the reasons why I would recommend 8th and Hope to anyone looking for an apartment downtown.

First, as an out of state applicant I was a little cautious of how the process would go. I spoke with Mila over the phone and she reassured me of the process, and answered all my questions. She even went out of her way to make recommendations and suggestions about the neighborhood. After speaking with her, we arranged a virtual tour and I was very pleased. The community has all the amenities that I need, and the location is great for my commute to work. Overall I'm very impressed, and really appreciated Mila's help. I hope to select my living arrangements soon.

We just moved out of 8th & Hope and Tim made our move out process smooth and simple! While I enjoyed my time here, unfortunately my job has transferred me. I recommended you check out this property and their stylish, unique 1 bedrooms! Very nice and quiet compared to others.. Hopefully I will be back soon!!

My roommate and I set up a tour far in advance and we didn't have much trouble. The tour was nice but the apartment space was sort of odd. The second bedroom didn't have a full wall (sort of a half wall separating it from the living room). The amenities are great in theory, BUT EVERYTHING is closed right now. The pool and rooftop areas are both closed and under construction (June/July 2021) and they told us they're trying to reopen the roof soon while they work on the pool but that won't be open for quite a while. We ended up going elsewhere for an apartment that's less

Whew ! Where to start ? Well first the leasing process was amazing thanks to David and Robert. They really helped me get this dream apartment. They answered all my questions and annoying calls too.
Just about one month into the place and I love it. It's clean. Security walks the block and the parking garage. I feel safe. The concierge is my favorite they are the sweetest never letting anyone unapproved up to my door and also taking care of me and my packages when sick. Could ask for a better team. Just bc of them it makes the price of rent. This is also a prime location. Lots of guest parking

I’ve been a tenant here at 8th & Hope for 4 years- I wanna say it’s definitely one of the best communities to live in downtown Los Angeles. The location, amenities, always quickly responded maintenance, and last but not the least- friendly staff and management team that glue the community together. David and Julio are the only staff that I know their names and they are absolutely awesome. Other members are always nice and helpful as well!
It’s been an absolute pleasure being part of this luxurious, diverse and lovely community.

I'm updating my review because since the new management took over, this place is a real disappointment. Because of Covid the gym amenity is closed and they are ignoring my demands to lower my rent rate. Also, it is supposed to be a non smoking building and the elevators and hallways stink like old weed in a motel 6. Definitely not a luxury building anymore.
Tried to reach to management, they ignore you!
Been here 4 years and this has never been so poorly handled. You might get a cool floorplan but if you have an issue, you'll be talking to a wall.

The fantastic concierge staff -- especially David, Austin, and Joe (newcomer this month) -- and maintenance team keep this building afloat. We love our apartment and have lived in the building for 2.5 years. However, AirBnB rentals are a perennial issue, and management appears to have its hands tied. The building has terrific potential, it just requires better oversight and leadership.

I only write reviews about places and businesses that I care about - which is why I will be trying my best to write a review for the place I called home for almost 3 years (*this is a specific review on the current management team Greystar).
The third-year (under Greystar) proved to be much more stable compared to the second. There weren't that many issues of maintenance. Whilst there weren't many problems with day to day issues (despite management having attitude problems and being very lazy), there was one incident that had me flabbergasted:
In the month of June, I had accidentally locked myself

This review is going out to the 8th+Hope maintenance team!!
My girlfriend and I moved into 8th+Hope just a couple weeks ago from just down the street.
When we moved in, we reached out to the maintenance team, Will, Kelvin and Luis and they immediately responded with solutions on small adjustments that needed to be fixed. They were friendly, professional and very prompt in their task work.
When you move in to a new place, especially as nice as a 22 floor high-rise in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles, you have different expectations. Not just from the office staff or front desk concierge, but

This building is very nice and I like living here. Ever since moving to LA 2 years ago, I have lived downtown and this is one of the best buildings here. Our Conceirge David Ortiz is awesome and makes living here so much better for everyone!
For management: since the gym/pool were closed for months and now the gym is closed again I believe residents should get some kind of credit because the amenities were a big part of the reason a lot of us signed up here!

I've been living here for 4 years now. Overall, my experience has been quite positive. The unit itself is great and quite large for Downtown. When I first moved in Essex was the Property Owner and they were fantastic. Nilufar as the community manager did an excellent job managing the place. The building has changed hands a few times and is now under Greyster. While not as good as Essex, we weren't in worldwide pandemic 4 years ago so can't really fault Greystar for some of the issues associated with Covid. One amazing bright spot is David Ortiz. This guy should be the building manager. His attitude
