The original hot yoga that's been featured in the press and on television, famous for it's miraculous healing ability. It is a very specific 90 minute series of 26 yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises. Bikram Yoga is conducted in a heated room to warm up your whole body, and allows you to work deep into your muscles, tendons and ligaments to change your body from the inside out.
Each pose is a challenge based on personal abilities; each pose addresses a certain area of the body, bestowing specific and powerful health benefits. The class is designed for all levels, beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Every class is open to first time students. Since the room is heated, you may want to wear something that you feel comfortable sweating in.

I’ve been coming to Hot Yoga Rochester with Mara for 4-5 months and its been a wonderful experience. My goals were to become more flexible and have better connection with my body over the months and to hopefully start feeling confident enough to practice on my own at home. During the beginning of class is always kind of rocky for me, the factors of: negative self image, feeling unstable, and just trying to tough out the heat circle throughout my head, but having Mara’s comforting words, encouragement, and gentile guidance really help with getting you to the end and I can’t thank her enough

Bikram series (26+2) yoga has quite literally saved my life. Marah, the owner of the Hot Yoga Rochester studio, is the best teacher I’ve ever practiced with. She has vast knowledge of the body and the practice. I’ve been practicing this yoga for over 20 years, in multiple studios. I’m a survivor of bone cancer with multiple spinal issues, and this yoga has allowed me to maintain flexibility, mobility and strength. The community fostered by Marah, in this studio, is welcoming, friendly, and lives up to its motto “show up as you are.” I love it here. Join us. You won’t be sorry!!!

I practice at this studio when I come home to see family, and I can't stress enough how awesome this studio is and how transformational an original hot yoga practice can be. This style of yoga - two breathing exercises plus 26 sequenced poses in a heated room - allows you to detox, destress, increase flexibility, build muscle, and helps alleviate chronic conditions and heal old injuries. I have practiced this yoga on and off for 20 years in different parts of the country, and Marah is by far the most thoughtful, skilled and kind teacher I've ever had. This kindness is reflected in the welcoming

I am so grateful to have been able to stop by Hot Yoga Rochester for a class with Marah! Her supportive energy and humorous guidance through the series helped me power through and be present throughout the class. The studio is nice and warm (both in vibe and temperature, as is appropriate!). I look forward to coming back soon.

Like a "Japanese ham sandwich" (come to class and you'll get my reference), there are "no gaps anywhere" in the hot yoga practice as presented by Marah and Alicia. Both are outstanding instructors who bring their individual vibrant personalities to the standard Bikram-style "script" without deviating from the the spirit of the 26 postures/2 pranayama sequence. Kudos and appreciation for the class offerings online during the COVID shutdown!

I started going to Bikram Rochester in 2013. Marah had instructed a few of the classes there and I noticed my postures were always better/more rewarding when she taught the class. Since she's opened Hot Yoga Rochester I've only been able to attend a few classes in person and 4 virtual classes during quarantine, but I tell all my friends how much I have benefited from the practice and specifically Marah's guidance. It's done so much for me physically, mentally, and spiritually, I think everyone should try it.

I've practiced hot yoga regularly for over six years and have taken classes at studios in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, New York and Paris. Marah and Alisha at Hot Yoga Rochester are two of my favorite teachers. They will always meet you where you are and they will always inspire you through their passion and knowledge. I've watched them teach and inspire first-time students and nationally competitive yogis alike
As for the practice of hot yoga, I could go on and on about the benefits... simply said, it will change your body and mind if you keep showing up to classes as you are. There

Hot Yoga Rochester is a quaint Bikram studio located in Webster New York. They offer about two to three 90 minute classes a day. It's heated, and Bikram, so twenty-six asanas sandwiched between pranayama.
The teachers are pleasant. Embodying compassion and discipline while maintaining a jovial presence. Class sizes are generally smaller, which much space between practitioners. Pricing is beyond fair; an initial month pass is thirty-nine dollars.
Outside of being a studio to practice yoga the owner, Marah, cultivates a small, kind community of yogis.
