All classes are taught in an "Open Level" format that is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners. If you're a beginner don't let the words "Open Level" scare you. It simply means that you'll be getting modifications that will allow you to receive the benefit of the practice while maintaining good postural alignment.
If you have some experience with yoga, I will be encouraging you to go deeper inside to see what the pose is saying to you, and then to observe your response to the pose. Our bodies speak to us in many ways, and it's important to listen. You might be surprised at what you hear! It is my belief that there is no such thing as the "perfect" yoga pose.

Jim has had a successful career as an engineer, and enjoys a diverse set of interests outside of work. His yoga practice began as a means to help with recovery from spinal surgery, and this initial quest has led him to many deeper discoveries about himself. He studied many different styles of yoga before finding a home at Open Sky Yoga Center, and their Iyengar-based teaching style.

If you are looking for individual feedback and guidance this a spot you should check out. The instructor is friendly and knowledgeable, he let's you know up front that the classes aren't "flow" classes. You go through a series of positions working on form, strength and flexibility. Classes that I've attended have not been larger than three students. The space is unique, as its shared with a meditation group I think and adjoins to a massage therapist. You're kind of doing yoga in a closed off living room feeling due to the couch, chairs and coffee table in the room
