Excellent complex with some super-friendly residents. Lived here a little over a year before moving into a house.
Generally very quiet, incredibly so for a complex of this size. I love how there is a little stretch of woods just across the street, a park catty-corner, and access to a hiking/biking path to another park with a pond a block away.
Kathy and her staff were easy to reach and understanding. Steve, the maintenance pro, is awesome. I asked to get the handle on a drawer fixed and went out for the day; when I arrived back, not only was the handle fixed, but the entire drawer was repainted

I lived here for one year and that was excruciating.
Everything about this place is awful. Our toilets didnt work for a month and no one did anything. Our dishwasher was broken for 3 months and all they did was come out & drain the water. Not actually fix it.... oh but they let us know that black mold was growing in it. “Possibly from the vents as well”
& still nothing done. & when I would call the lady in the office told me I would have to wait for the main office lady to come and assist me.... I’ve since moved and I’m so grateful to live somewhere that they actually care

I have lived at The Rustic for 5 years now and have had a wonderful experience with the property manager, Kathy Leamasters, Steve, the maintenance man, and the other office staff. Kathy has always been professional, accommodating, and ready to assist in a timely manner with maintenance requests. I have read some of the negative reviews of this complex and service, but I disagree. Yes, this complex is an older complex but they have been beautifully renovated with upgraded appliances and at a reasonable price point compared to some of the surrounding area complexes. I really hate to leave a negative review, but I will state my honest opinion and experience with the Rustic of McKinney.
My family and I lived at this complex for 2 years and did not have a good experience at all. Starting with the office staff. The manager Cathy was rude, short with responses in person, phone and on email after we moved in. The other ladies were a lot nicer.
The apartments are not really well maintained. Noise was never and issue, walls seemed to be very well put together but that’s really the only positive I have to state aside from the nice area the complex is located. They

I have been a resident at The Rustic of McKinney for two years, now, and I am definitely going to renew my lease again! Maintenance is always prompt and friendly. The front office staff is very welcome, and truly caring towards their residents. Kathy is by far the best! When the snow/ice storm hit and our unit was destroyed, she immediately got us into a new unit the same night! Great atmosphere here, super kid friendly, clean gym, nice pool, and very pet friendly! What more could you want :) !!!
