In 1985, Portland French Bakery opened with an original concept: seven-day-a-week delivery of handcrafted breads into local supermarkets. Today, we continue our daily deliveries of old-fashioned, fresh-baked breads to a diverse following of customers, including retail stores, warehouse outlets and restaurants.
We offer a unique combination of the slow, time-tested processes of artisan bakeries and the fast, reliable service of larger wholesalers. While we now produce over 400 customized bread products, we still rely on 120-year-old sourdough starter for our signature City Sour products, as well as an authentic, hands-on baking process.

At Portland French Bakery, we pride ourselves on our customer service. It begins with providing our customers with a wide variety of high-quality breads. And it means delivering those breads in a timely manner, seven days a week, so customers receive fresh products when they need them.
In nearly 21 years, including two complete moves of the bakery, and notwithstanding the inevitable "wind, rain, ice, sleet and snow, " Portland French Bakery has never missed a single day of operation or a single day of deliveries promised to our customers.

We offer over 400 customized sourdough, French, Italian and artisan breads. Along with the classic products shown on the site, we also produce small batches of innovative new and seasonal breads. Portland French is a kosher certified bakery on all products with the exception of those containing cheese or kalamata olives.
