Services
The practice of yoga is meant to cultivate a clear mind - a mind fit for higher perception, a higher perspective, and ultimately, one that is open to be played like a flute by Love. At the Yoga Shala teaching cooperative in Carrboro, we bring together highly experienced teachers in their dedicated practices to bring forth spiritual practices in ways that resonate with a student.
Students should expect to stay for the entire class unless previously discussed with the instructor. It is a respectful practice and promotes the deepening of any devotional practices in any tradition. Expect to be a part of a loving, nurturing environment oozing with authenticity and lacking tolerance in pretension.
Lyndsay Bahn has been dedicated to the full-time practice and study of the 8 Limb Path, the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita and the physical and subtle body in all shapes, sizes and phases since 2006. She is available for on-the-mat and off-the-mat individual training for all levels of practice from beginner to advanced.
For the householder (non- cave dweller), the ideal situation is creating the evironment through lifestyle choices and daily dedication to the path and by making the practice and the lifestyle as the highest of priorities. In this way, we work "life" around our yoga practices, and each situation in life is an opportunity to apply yogic teachings and act accordingly.

Lyndsay and the Shala are a constant gift to yourself, here you can find yourself and your process because she has created the space to do so. This type of yoga is definitely a calling, but if you have found the Shala it is your journey to follow in wonderful footsteps. The Shala is a place of growth, healing, personal depth, love, wonder and Divine passage. Come, experience the strength you have within yourself, its there, waiting to be awakened. More importantly the Shala offers a place for highly skilled individuals to come and share their gifts, I have taken multiple classes at the Shala and

Wow! My life and body have changed tremendously in the last year and a half since starting my practice at the yoga Shala.
Lyndsay’s experiential wisdom of the body and incredibly detailed knowledge of anatomy have empowered me to understand my body at such a deep level.
I can totally see why PTs and Doctors refer their patients to Lyndsay for further recovery and healing. For me those docs could only take me so far, and through my practice at the Shala, I’ve been able to strengthen my body in a way where it wants to work at 100% again.

Lyndsay teaches the Yogastha method. She faithfully practices and honors the classical Yoga philosophy and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
I am impressed by her knowledge of anatomy and dedication to the practice. She is showing us the way by teaching the 8 limb path that can allow us to experience yoga in our own life.
