Living here was mostly a good experience, especially once the construction ended. Great location, dated, but sufficient interiors (e.g., washing machines from the 80s that the maintenance guy said "we will replace when they fully break down"). However, this one star review is due to my ongoing experience with the move-out process.
I contacted Tony N. on Dec 3rd, 2021 about my intent to move out at the end of the December month. I had been on a month-to-month lease and decided to move out officially once the new rates were presented. In that email I communicated my intent to not continue the lease

Tony great. Talked at length about what we were looking for, but unfortunately did not have any dates that worked with our schedule. He reached out to see if we still needed help a few weeks later which I appreciated since he had some future openings, but we had already found a new apartment. Will definitely reach out in future and would recommend.

Recently moved out at end of 2020 but I would have renewed to a bigger unit had I not purchased a home. Alexis and Terrill have been amazing. Now that the construction is almost completed I cant imagine a better location to rent. Everything is in walking distance, dog friends with a huge dog park 2 blocks away. Would recommend to anyone looking to rent in the area.

Alexis took care of everything before my Saturday morning move-in and Kyle was right there, ready to get me all the keys and fobs needed on that morning when my crew arrived rather early to Union Park. Everyone has been courteous and friendly, and almost everything is in good working order at my Union Park home!

This was a great building before new management came in. Let me start with what I like. The front office is on point and quick to reply to any issues you have. They have added a good online presence to open tickets and they are prompt about handling them as they arise. I do very much appreciate that. However, as noted in other reviews, the entire building is currently wrapped in a green tarp for construction purposes. They have ripped out the old wall and on the pictures I've posted you can see that it is down to the wood. Construction starts about 8AM everyday, if you're lucky the banging

Excellent Service! 1 hour after I put a service request, it was resolved. Very quick service and excellent treatment. It's a shame that I don't know how to spell the name of the guy that went to my house because I wanted to tell how amazing he is. Definitely, I'm really happy about the way the things are handled in here. All the people that work in here are the best. Very high recommend it to live if you are looking your home in the great area of Capitol Hill.

The staff are very friendly, but they mislead us about renovations. Scaffolding is going up, balconies are off limits, windows must be closed for privacy as construction crews demolish the outside. And they're kicking residents out after leases expire, so the renovations will not help you. Stay away.

This is one of the best places I have lived. The front office (Alexis) and maintenance (Terrill) are on point and so quick to respond. I know a lot of people are upset about the renovations but the way I look at it, I'm so happy they are updating the building. The structure of the building is going to be a lot safer and I am looking forward to having the updated windows and balcony. I know they were supposed to start interiors first, but I am so happy that they made the decision to go with updating safety vs. aesthetic

The Building
The apartments are quite spacious for the cost. Parking is very cheap for the area. Building amenities are generally no-frill, although the fitness center is quite serviceable. Building management and maintenance is absolutely top-notch - prompt, friendly, and effective on all matters.
Area
The local area tends to be residential/medical. The neighborhood is rather quiet, being across from a school. Many points of interest downtown and on capitol hill are within easy walking distance.
Downsides
The elevators tend to be a little slow, and the hallways do have a bit of a hotel vibe

I was deceived with this apartment. They kept all my security deposit for things that should have been consider wear and tear. There are a bunch of rats in the place, extremely noisy with garbage trucks and people cross the fence so its not a safe place. The only great person there was an extremely underpaid, overworked handyman. I do not recommend moving there, big scam!

Hands down one of the best apartment complexes I have ever lived in. The managers are extremely helpful and nice (Chris is really awesome!!!) And the maintenance is excellent. All maintenance requests are tended to within a day and if something keeps breaking frequently they just replace it with a new one - my heater kept breaking down so they just put in a new one. In the spring/summer, the location is especially pretty with all the beautiful trees. :-)
Location is great - its also close to cap hill, downtown, first hill and SLU.

I lived there for almost 6 years, and had a really awesome experience. I left with a heavy heart, only because I bought a place, and it was time to move on.
The managers were great, friendly, professional, and responsive. Maintenance items were taken care of the same day as I reported them. Even when my neighbor upstairs overflowed their tub and it started leaking down into my unit, the carpet was already taken up and fans drying by the time I got home that night. As others mentioned, the location is super convenient - close to downtown (theater, symphony, any bus to any part of the city), close

Living in Union Park Apartment was a great experience. I lived here for over 4 years. The managers are both nice and helpful, and resolved issues with the apartments almost always the same day. The rent was very reasonable, you could tell they cared about their tenants and rent increases were quite modest.
I never had any noise complaints except for the garbage trucks in the morning, despite the fact this was on the intersection of Downtown and Capitol Hill. The location of the apartments was wonderful, just blocks away from QFC, Molly Moon, and Broadway. I only wish they allowed dogs as pets

I went to check out the apartments with my friend and I should have known from the sound of the managers voice that she wasn't a very nice person. My friend and I have never been treated so poorly by a manager before. She was RUDE from the second we walked in. I MEAN RUDE and classless. I don't know how she has a job! I even spoke to a tenent about her and they said she has always been like that. Really? I was ready to put a check in her hands but she stepped over the line and I walked out. I feel sorry for her. I will speak to the management company about this unhappy, tasteless woman

The managers here are completely crazy. Unless you like having them spy on you by having your windows "cleaned" constantly by people who just so happen to be the manager's son and having cameras all over the place. Seriously, I am the most well-behaved, quiet person you will ever meet and I have never felt so violated by my landlords.
The rent is pretty steep and the only thing that i like about this place is the location and the awesome maintenance staff. Aside from this, you pay for all utilities and will seriously live in the same building as one of the most invasive landlords
