Healthy Minds Now is a Child, Adolescent and Adult psychiatry practice in Cary, founded by Dr. Himabindu Ravi (Hima Ravi), MD. Dr. Ravi is a Child Psychiatrist and an Adult Psychiatrist practicing in Cary, North Carolina. Dr. Ravi has several years of experience in diagnosing and treating Pediatric and Adult Psychiatric disorders.
Currently Dr. Ravi is consulting faculty at Duke Child and Family study Center. During her tenure at Duke, Dr. Ravi participated in several NIMH funded clinical trials addressing Pediatric Psychiatric disorders such as ADHD, Anxiety disorders, Obsessive compulsive disorders, Autism and Depression. The results of many of these clinical trials directly contributed to evidence-based treatments for childhood psychiatric disorders.

Anxiety is a heritable condition, meaning if someone in the family has an Anxiety Disorder, there are high chances that their children and grandchildren will inherit those genes. This is called genetic predisposition to a condition. Other risk factors include medical illnesses, workplace stress, school stress, relationship issues, financial stress and history of abuse ( verbal, physical, sexual).

All of us experience anxiety at different times in our lives. Anxiety is a common emotion and part of a repertoire of emotions such as joy, sadness and anger.
