She believes yoga + meditation should be accessible and supportive and that the practice varies for everyone.
These 60-90 minute sessions, available in-person or over zoom, provide a personalized guided practice based on your physical, mental, and emotional needs. As with group classes, they will often include movement, breathwork, and meditation. Private and semi-private yoga sessions are a wonderful option if you need your yoga to work around your schedule or if you want to practice privately on your own or with a few selected friends.

I've been taking weekly classes at Allay for just about a year now. Im not a yogi. I'm a 59 y.o. woman who just wants to age gracefully. The teachers at Allay - particularly Pam and Christina for me - are helping guide me through that process.
The first time I went to a class I said to myself " you want me to do what?". But I stuck with it and have moved up to level 1/2. There's no judgment at Allay. Just great support. I've gotten stronger, better balance and I'm a more patient driver!

I tried Allay Yoga in Kensington for the first time last Tuesday. The studio is lovely and easy to find - just behind the Safeway off Connecticut Avenue. I parked on the street and walked in without any fuss.
The 8:00pm Open Flow class was challenging but just what I needed to unwind at the end of the day. I came in just as the class was beginning, so there wasn't much of a warm-up, but I have to admit that I get tired of the fluffy side of yoga sometimes. I was glad to be able to spend almost the entire hour and fifteen minutes on the stretches and poses.

I have been practicing yoga for several years in studios around the DC metropolitan area, including Willow Street, Thrive, Tranquil Space, and Blue Heron. However, once I discovered Allay Yoga in the Fall of 2010, I was hooked and have been exclusively at Allay since.
The absolute best thing about Allay is Pam, one of the instructors. On the first day I went to the studio, she inquired about my yoga experience, my level of comfort with different styles and poses, what parts of my body were open and tight, and even the style of music I liked. Then, this is the best part, she incorporated my unique

I've been going to Allay Yoga for weekly classes since the beginning of this summer, 2010. Pam's class is a really nice combination of relaxing and challenging. She has a calm way about her that grounds the practice. If you like her to, she assists with your poses and the gentle pressure always seems to be in just the right spot or gets me to stretch just a little bit more. How she places my arms and legs during shivasana gives an amazing rest that I wish I could recreate every time I sleep! I love her choice of music--not just instrumental zen music, but interesting selections that help
