Heather Hardcastle eliminated gluten from her diet nearly 20 years ago to help ease chronic digestive issues. When she found it difficult to purchase the sweet treats she craved, she decided to make them herself! She later went on to study baking & pastry arts at The Culinary Institute of America and through much trial and error, she mastered the art of creating gluten-free recipes that had incredible taste, quality and texture.
Heather started Flour Craft Bakery in 2010, working out of a nearby commercial kitchen and sold her gluten-free wares at local farmers markets. Together with her husband & business partner, Rick Perko, they opened Flour Craft's first retail location in San Anselmo in 2013. They quickly became the areas finest gluten-free bakery, satisfying those with dietary restrictions and surprising those without.

Love this bakery! My daughter is gluten free and the pastries are so good here that I enjoy them too. They always have a great selection and we have tried the brownies, cookies, banana bread and savory treats - all were a hit. You can grab a bag to go or sit with a coffee and enjoy it in the bakery.

Love, love, love Flour Craft. When I first moved to town I had no clue it was a gluten-free bakery. I was on a stroll through town and happened by the cute store front. One bite of their fresh cinnamon roll out of the oven & I instantly fell in love with their treats. They bake with quality ingredients and masterful flavors. You don’t even miss the gluten.

Best gluten free bakery in the Bay Area - beating out SF favorites that are closer to the city. Thus far I have had:
Baguette - lots of seeds and grains on top, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside - stands up to being carried 50 miles in my back pocket!
Cinnamon roll - very luxurious with a heavy dose of cinnamon filling and a generous swipe of cream cheese frosting on top. Ask for it warmed up!
Vegetarian sandwich - light but also filling. The basil leaves plus thick mozzarella slices and roasted veggies pair well in between the perfectly oily focaccia
Cupcake - was good but not my

This is an all gluten free bakery!! There is every kind of baked good from sweet to savory. And it is ALL GLUTEN-FREE!! They also have good gluten-free coffee and espresso drinks. Watch the counter for the day old items. The day old cookies are fantastic but the pastries are best fresh out of the oven.
