Six Acres Nursery School is a part of the Medford Jewish Community Center. Our licensed program is non-sectarian and accepts children between the ages of 2.9 and 5 years. Our mission is to build confidence and a love of learning, giving students a solid foundation. Six Acres is indeed Open! Services
We provide multiple opportunities for children to learn through exploration in a warm, respectful atmosphere. Our staff designs curriculum based on the interests and needs of the children. As children pursue their own individual interests, they are learning to recognize and respect the interests and individuality of others.
We are proud to offer a child-centered approach focused on developmentally appropriate practices. Our teachers and staff are guided by Piaget's theory that curiosity drives a child's learning. Providing challenging, open-ended activities encourages children to think.
We have an integrated curriculum which includes reading to foster a love for the written word, counting and sequencing to foster a love for numbers, being social and learning to be a community to foster love and respect for one another.Our age appropriate activities are designed to introduce and strengthen cognitive and social skills.

My daughter attended this preschool for 2.5 years and we absolutely loved it. The teachers are very caring, they have indoor and outdoor play spaces, and the variety of fun and learning activities kept her engaged and happy to attend every time. My daughter started with the 2 days/week program, and we ended our last year going all 5 days. The school has just recently renovated their playground.

My daughter has been at Six Acres for almost 3 school years and my son started this year. There are many schools to choose from and I'm very happy with our choice. All the teachers love being there and it shows, they are nurturing, fun and creative. My kids LOVE going to school and that's the best start to an education I could ask for:)
