My brother and I realize just how lucky we are to have grown up knowing the rich traditions of our Italian grandmothers. We learned early on food wasn't just something to eat. It was a deeply satisfying experience born of the finest, freshest ingredients and love. We named Emily Rose for our mother and grandmother, who brought those traditions to life for us.
What goes hand in hand with the perfect cannoli or cookie? A perfectly roasted cup of coffee, of course. Since there's no way we'd serve you just any cup of Joe, we're partnering with Norristown based Valerio Coffee Roasters to make sure your cappuccino or espresso sends your taste buds soaring. Anthony Valerio is a caffeine-inspired artist who has been roasting coffee for more than 30 years.
Once you take a bite of our tomato pie, we predict you'll become addicted. Our hand rolled dough is smothered in crushed tomatoes, olive oil and the perfect blend of Italian spices. It's baked until the crust glows golden, then sprinkled with just the right amount of parmesan. You choose whether you want to enjoy it hot, cold or at room temperature.
In Italy, bread is life. Crusty, chewy, the perfect vehicle to hold butter, olive oil, meats or cheese. Or enjoyed on its own, one savory bite at a time. The recipes our bakers use may be secret, handed down from their grandmothers, but there's nothing secret about the love that goes into the process.
It starts with simple ladyfingers dipped in coffee. After being lovingly layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and creamy mascarpone and flavored with rich cocoa, it turns into the treasure we Italians know as tiramisu. It's just one of a small, but luscious group of cakes we offer to tempt your sweet tooth.
