The House Pilates
A system of exercises using special apparatus designed to improve physical strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance, good posture, and enhance mental awareness. On the weekends one to two live Pilates mat group classes available to members and drop in mat class rate. We also guest teach at local colleges, company wellness hours, outdoor venues and can come to you!

Workshops are an excellent way to deep dive into specialty topics like pregnancy, foam rolling, fascia, neck care, osteoporosis, improving your golf game with Pilates, runners program and more.
Services
Monique is passionate about improving quality of life for others through movement as a certified Pilates teacher. You'll find her sessions have a natural flow and she likes to add props to give you a more dynamic workout. Her cues will help you create awareness in your body during sessions by building a strong mind-body connection.
From beginners to professional sports people, and including pregnant women and seniors. Rather than concentrating upon specific areas, Pilates treats the body as a whole, building up muscle without adding bulk, improving joint mobility and flexibility, and boosting energy levels. The House Pilates teams up with Physical Therapists, Pelvic Floor PT's, Chiropractors and other medical professionals to create an effective program for an individual.
Mat-based Pilates - this is a series of exercises performed on the floor using gravity and your own body weight to provide resistance. Equipment-based Pilates - this includes specific equipment that works against spring-loaded resistance, including the 'reformer', which is a moveable carriage that you push and pull along its tracks.
Yes, we often joke that Pilates equipment looks like a Medieval torture chamber, BUT do not be intimidated. Those springs and bars are there to help you and to aid in providing the long, lean muscles you are looking for. Always, safety first though! This is not a Club Pilates studio, we are an exclusive studio focused on a quality experience with a fully certified teacher from a two year Pilates school with years of experience.
Come to your Pilates session dressed in whatever you are most comfortable in. Slim fitting exercise pants or leggings and a slim fitting top are ideal. Please no belt buckles, zippers, or jewelry, strong perfume and makeups that could damage the equipment. Besides your workout clothes, all you need is yourself and your willingness to learn and have fun!

Pilates at The House Pilates has changed my body and how I think about my daily movements. Before Monique, I thought I was pretty "fit" but it wasn't until a few sessions with Monique where I realized I was weak in so many areas, and overusing my other muscles to compensate for those weaknesses. It has been a long time coming, but we have slowly strengthened those areas and I am now better at engaging those "weak" muscles throughout the day and with my other exercises. I am not sure there are words to describe how much I recommend The House Pilates but I will sure try! Monique is not only extremely knowledgeable about anatomy but can see things in your body like no trainer I've ever worked with. I've worked with Monique pre and post natal. Monique is special. I knew when I met her she had something that would touch me deep in my spiritual and physical growth. Her ability to explain clearly how to connect with the stabilization muscles is far superior to any in the area.

Change happens when you find your comfort zone and go beyond it. This happens every time you enter the studio or do a virtual class with Monique. She finds where you're comfortable, where the work is hard, but not that hard. Then she pushes you beyond. The your body begins to change. You gain strength. You gain focus. You achieve a deeper level of connection with your body and all it's capable of. Even if you didn't think it was.

I can not recommend pilates with Monique enough! I've been doing twice a week private pilates at The House for over a year now and also had my third baby. With Monique's extensive education in pre and post natal exercise, I did pilates up until the day before my baby was born and had my fastest labor/delivery and EASIEST recovery. Even immediately after, my core and pelvic floor felt back to normal and not like I had just had a baby! Everything about Monique and her style of teaching is empowering. (Even though Pilates has proven to be one of the most humbling activities I participate in). I was recommended to try Monique's Pilates after dealing with chronic neck & back pain. After only a few private sessions I started to see improvement! Not only is Monique extremely knowledgeable & professional, most importantly she knows how translate all that information into an easy way to understand what was happening within my body.

I have yet to have a repeat session, Monique has endless variations and options to target the same muscle groups and more. Whether it is an equipment or mat class, you will 100% get a total body workout. She even gives great options to do at home

I first met Monique when she was an instructor at another fitness studio in the area. Immediately, I knew she was something special. She has that fitness instructor magic that equal part scares you, encourages you, and makes you want to keep coming back again and again.

Finally, I made the leap to work with her on pilates and I am so glad that I did. Her workouts are perfectly challenging and complete. Her early morning 6AM small groups are the perfect way to start the day, and I'd still be going to those if I worked in Camas/didn't travel so much for work.

I had never done Pilates before so I had no idea what to expect. Monique is a master teacher, reformer, and a doctor of fitness training! I cannot imagine a better trainer in this method of exercise! She is aware and makes me aware of minute muscles that need "turning on" with the result of muscle fatigue and muscle building in a short amount of time. I find myself more aware of my posture, how I walk and bend and move throughout my day. There is not a minute wasted in her personalized training sessions. She is always ready to get me warmed up and going in new and more complex movements

Monique is an amazing pilates instructor! I've never met anyone so knowledgeable or meticulous in her field. The results I've gotten through Monique's mat classes and personal training have been incredible - I am stronger, leaner, fitter and have better posture as well.
