I love living at Shadyside Commons. The lofted apartments really elevate the space, the building is clean and relatively quiet, they are very dog friendly and Kathleen and Katie in the leasing office are the friendliest most welcoming people! I’ve lived here for a year and a half and I would only move if I was leaving Pittsburgh.

Shadyside Commons has been such a wonderful experience. Katie has made my move in experience painless and her coworker cathy is also very kind. Everyone in the building is very friendly. I have been able to hear some of my neighbors but nothing out of the ordinary. Maintenance is ok. The courtyard is a great place to be outside and study

I am not sure if I got the previous reviewer Rebecca's apartment but I am experiencing the same noise as she described. In my case, the noise from upstairs runs 24 hours. Their bedtime routine runs from 12 AM - 2:40 AM everyday. During that time period, I get loud cracking noise from the ceiling (probably from them walking), knocking sound from shoe bottom hitting their floor, small and big things dropping on their floor and metal vibrating sounds. (This is after I complained their vacuuming at 12:30 AM.) During the day, the noise level does not drop but the time when noise comes spreads out. I

I really liked living here, but rating it lower than I would because of the noise. You can hear literally everything that happens above and surrounding your apartment. Whether it’s vacuuming at 2am or hearing a breakup next door. The train and hospital helicopter are also clearly audible. The location is great, and management is really amazing. The courtyard is really well kept and nice to hang out in.

Living at Shadyside commons has been amazing! The loft apartments are very stylish and attractive with the exposed brick and spiral staircase. Staff on site (Katie and Kathleen) are extremely friendly and helpful. There are fun monthly events and quite often yummy treats provided for residents. Most importantly, couldn't have asked for a better location!

Shadyside Commons is a wonderful place to live. The apartment units themselves are lovely, with brick walls, and wood beam ceilings, but the best part is the people who work here. Kathleen and Katie are such friendly people, they plan excellent events/treats (safe for the times of course), and really just make this place feel like home. I'm so happy to be a resident of Shadyside Commons!

I’ve lived in 12 different apartments across multiple cities. I love how unique this building is! Exposed brick, spiral staircase, the lobby, gym, outside space. It’s great! The staff, particularly Katie, are amazing. Super helpful, friendly and kind. They really try to make apartment living feel like living in a home. Appreciate the special touches like complementary coffee, farmer market veggies, breakfast and lunches. And holiday events! A secret and hidden gem in the heart of Shadyside!

Shadyside Commons is a wonderful apartment building and my husband and I lived there the entire time we lived in Pittsburgh. The staff is absolutely amazing and will go above and beyond to meet your every need. They care deeply about each resident. Dennis and Z are fantastic maintenance guys and genuinely nice people. Angela and Kathleen are excellent communicators, compassionate, kind and fabulous property managers.
The location of the building is great. Very close to just about everything. The kitchens are beautiful and huge - my husband and I really like to cook so this was important to us.

Lived in Shadyside Commons for the past 3 years, my first apartment in Pittsburgh. My wife and I definitely enjoyed our time here!

Location was great, close to everything, also very safe and quiet. Reasonable garage parking, nice gym (looked small but I honestly had never seen more than 3 people in the gym together, usually me by myself...so you would definitely find your equipment available) and patio (closed during winter). We had the loft floor plan which was really cool and came with a lot of storage space as well.

The only downside, as mentioned by other residents, is the sound traveling

What a gem of an apartment building. Been living here for almost two years now and have really enjoyed it. Angela and Kathleen (property managers) know how to run property. It is a welcoming community with lots of fun communal activities. The apartments themselves are attractive and unique - exposed brick, high ceilings, and modern appliances. I have one of the loft apartments which really pops, and the stairs help me and my cat get exercise. It is also in a nice part of Shadyside and within walking distance to Walnut St., UPitt, and CMU.

I recently moved out of this building and already miss it. The greatest thing is by far the staff including building managers and maintenance. They are the most helpful, dependable, available people. I really can't say enough about how much that can affect your quality of life. The apartments are small but have great amenities with added perks like exposed brick, giant windows, free painting of whatever colors you want. Gym, dry cleaning pick up, package room all enhance living. The noise, which many reviews note, can be a problem. I lived in two separate apartments in this building and while

My husband and I live in Shadyside Commons since August 2009 and just renewed our lease for one more year. We couldn't be happier here!

The location is perfect, walking distance to Walnut Street (10 minutes - restaurants and shopping area) and Oakland (20 minutes - CMU and University of Pittsburgh). The indoor parking is a great plus!

The residence in itself is truly beautiful: old brick building with oversized window, so you get a lot of sunlight. Lofts are very spacious and open, with high ceiling.
Some features that we couldn't live without: washer and dryer, dishwasher and the

I moved into Shadyside Commons 3 years ago after wanting to move closer to the city with my fiancee. The building is in a GREAT location, very walk-able to many different shops and restaurants.

It is a great building with beautiful apartments. One big plus is the extra storage space if needed. Gym on site is also a huge added plus! Shadyside Commons is a pet friendly building which is perfect for us.

Management is wonderful. Always willing to accommodate. Overall, highly recommend the building to anyone who is looking to move into the area.

I have lived in Shadyside Commons for going on 5 years now and am still in love!!

The building is located in the heart of Shadyside on a quiet street but still in walking distance to both Ellsworth and Walnut Street. It is a lovely brick building with spacious lofts and a gym for tenants. The apartments themselves have a nice open feel with gorgeous brick accents. The building and grounds are always kept very tidy.

The management and staff here go above and beyond. Tenants tend to be younger business professionals, all very friendly and welcoming. Networking events are held a few times
