I felt tension, when you mentioned section 8. Unfortunately, when you mentioned section 8 to this place, is just low income, and they just changed their body language, is different, been in section 8 those make us low life, life goes ups and down, I was a State of CT worker one time, does not make me less than anybody been in Section 8, hide your body language and people won't feel comfortable, Section 8 are more responsible and care about property more than anybody, you will lose your service if you don't comply, unfortunately that happen also with people that does not have section 8, at least

In the yarn building and I literally can't sleep. The people that work here are very nice. But on one side, my neighbor has 2 kids and the other side is a high traffic area that is so loud to pass through my floor shakes from the closing door and wakes me up. I know my neighbors children's names, the walls are so impossibly thin. I thought it was a small, ignorable, thing but for the price my roommate and I pay for this I'm beginning to think isn't worth it. I can't recommend living here

Apartment layouts are interesting and unique, aside from the fact that I have one closet in the whole place. The noise through the walls and ceiling could not possibly adhere to any sound proofing codes. I knew my neighbors were playing beer pong because I could literally hear the ball ping off the rim of the cup!! There are many other issues.. but I loathe moving and don't want to move again until I buy a house.. which is the only reason I'm still there.

I can not relate to all of the negative reviews. I lived in the lofts for in total 3 years now. I lived here previously in 2017 and then moved back in 2020. Sure the walls are a little thin but what apartment complex doesn’t have thin walls. It is a very lovely community and the apartments are so spacious and beautiful. I have never had a negative experience either with the office staff. They do their due diligence to make sure everything is good with your unit.

PART 1
Main point of this review: DO NOT MOVE HERE! Do not make the mistake of doubting the bad reviews (as I did) and finding out for yourself because I regretted it within the first week of living at The Lofts.
Cons:
1. (This should have been the first red flag, but my fiancé and I had to move quickly due to a career move) The cost we were first told ended up being $300 less than what the lease stated in the end- PLUS all the fees on top of the actual rent. Our rent went from being around $1200-$1300 to $1600.
2. We weren’t even allowed to see the actual unit we would be living in because

These gorgeous apartments are affordable and in a great location just off of Main St, which is turning into an up and coming area! I’m obsessed with the architecture and spacious layouts that the apartments offer! Yes, the walls are thin, but if you have loud neighbors and have speakers to play music or white noise, you’ll be fine! I’ve had nothing but great dealings with staff and management ever since I moved in back in 2019, transferred apartments last year, and am now in transition to my next home in July. I had an ongoing issue with a neighbor, and management was extremely helpful in

I lived at the Lofts for one year and moved before my lease was even officially up because of persistent and recurring problems. It's a bearable "first" apartment but not recommended for long term, families, or people who work from home.
"Thin" doesn't begin to describe these walls. You hear everything from your neighbors- full conversations, laughter, snoring, you name it. I know my downstairs neighbor's profession and what they put on their taxes because I could hear them plain as day discussing their tax forms with each other at a normal volume- just imagine how obnoxious loud music is.

I have lived at the Lofts for about three years now. Originally when I moved in, I took a HUGE (really amazing) unit which was just too big for two people. We downsized last week and are very happy in our new place. The office and maintenance people are extremely helpful and do their best to make tenants feel at home. It is a little noisy depending on where your apt. is located, but in the end the pros definitely outweigh any cons.

It's good bang for your buck. That's the best I can say. It's close to major highways, ten minutes from the mall, fifteen from Hartford, twenty from the airport, twenty-five to UConn. You get more square footage for the price than you could get anywhere else. Our electric and gas bill are beautifully reasonable. But. All that being said, everything's just a little bit...not great. They seem incredibly understaffed, so if someone leaves trash or spills something in the hallways, it will live there forever. If something breaks, it will take weeks and weeks for them to fix it.

The apartment was nice, but the neighbors were intolerable. I had to walk on eggshells in my own space that I was paying way too much for. Children consistently running through hallways, while neighbor pins the blame on my children. Protip: If you can't handle noise above you, live on the top floor. Management was helpful in the noise complaint situation, especially when they're aware of how "that neighbor can be". The kitchens could really use a remodel.

I have been living here for a little over a year and I have had a great experience. Jen from the leasing office is super helpful and would do her best to help you out. I moved here in a hurry and they worked quickly to make the apt move in ready. Snow removal is very timely and they always come around early to put down salt when its icy. Maintenance is great(not your creepy plumber) they are super friendly and reply to problems very quickly and actually tell you what they are doing. The building is always clean, the laundry room is never crowded and I usually don't have to wait for a machine

The good: the maintenance is top-notch, responsive, and generally expert. the cleaning staff are really nice and pleasant. i like my apartment.

the bad: outrageously expensive, bad service from the office staff. the place doesn't recycle next to bottles and cans, and cardboard boxes.

let me explain. lofts at the mills is owned and managed by a monster-like corporation. after a series of not-so-great experiences with mom-and-pop owned properties, i opted for a managed apartment situation while i finish my doctoral degree in the area. a huge mistake. the staff members in the leasing office
