I tried calling to work out completing my application at The Flats. I have sold my house out of state (that I had paid off) and am moving to Durham for a job. Because everything is delayed by Covid, I have not been able to get licensed to start my job and am living with family. All of my things are in storage. I cannot provide a tax forms or pay stubs. However, I offered to have my Schwab money manager send a letter to confirm that I have adequate savings and can afford to pay my rent. I have a clean credit history. We are staying in Durham temporarily while I'm waiting for a double lung transplant. We chose the Flats because of the close proximity to Duke and the convenience of shopping and food choices nearby. The apartment is a good size, very clean and comfortable. We had a few very minor maintenance issues that were addressed immediately. The staff have all been very friendly and professional.

I would like to start off by saying that Monique that is in the leasing office is the best! She has been so patient with me words can’t explain. Every time I have an issue she promptly returns my emails and calls. Maintenance is awesome also I had an issue with my garage and work crazy hours one of the maintenance man told me to leave the garage up in the morning when I got ready to leave for work and everything would be taken care of and it was. Nice job guys! That was the only issue I had that required me to call them and they handled it well I didn’t even have to take off work which I thought

I moved in here about a month ago and trust me this is the best apartment that I've had in a long time. I have very friendly neighbors and it is quiet. It is very kid and dog friendly. They keep a complex and very clean the maintenance people are very nice and helpful. I like it that they recycle. They keep the complex in a very good manner and if I have to call about anything they respond immediately. This community is very relaxing and I can go to the pool and go BBQ and they also have a gym and you can go work out. It's been a very pleasant experience. The people in the front in the management

The most appropriate term to describe Monique? Respectful. Deb? Cheerful, maybe jolly. They are the community’s assistant manager and manager, respectively. Both are professional, knowledgable and noticeably happy women. I signed my apartment lease earlier today in the office and was please with their hospitality. Deb and I both love coffee, and after informing her my blood caffeine levels were evidently diminishing, she offered to brew some coffee to lift me back up! 😁
