Crispian Bakery
An artisan French-American bakery in Alameda, California, offering pastries, bread, and coffee. We are open, Tuesday-Sunday, 7:30am-3pm, for walk-up purchases - come by to grab a fresh pastry and a steaming hot cup of coffee or tea! We have converted our street-facing windows into our ordering area!

This eliminates the need for people to come into the confined space of the bakery. We continue to pay attention to all regulations regarding building and dining policies, but for now we are maintaining our policy of employees only in the building, which seems safest for us and for you, our valued guests.

I've started to explore more French and French-style bakeries in the Bay Area and heard about Crispian as one of the best in the East Bay. I wanted to find out myself so I came over before a long day of work in Oakland. When I arrived, the parking lot was conveniently located and there was plenty of space. I ordered outside (it's not open for indoor dining right now). I had the lavender latte, raspberry bostock, and chocolate croissant. The latte was made just right as it didn't have the overwhelming flowery smell/taste that most lavender drinks had -- it was well balanced in terms

While ridesharing this evening (Uber), I picked up two lovely people who offered me 2 baguettes and passion fruit tarts, which was a very kind act of kindness.

This was my first time having Crispian Bakery and I very much enjoyed the mini tart and the baguette, which was indeed fresh! I just wanted to share and look forward to supporting Crispian Bakery again soon!

I think the best pastry spot in the island that is within walking distance for me to go for a morning pastry run or a pick me up. Happy to also see that their pastries are also available over at Signal on Webster. Recommended

I first heard about this place from the company I work for. They ordered their passion fruit tart pies here. There were so good, we asked where they got it from!

Street parking only.
No seating or going inside the cafe. They take your order from the window.
Kinda sad since I love checking out the selection of pastries from the counters but they only have photos of the food for you to choose from. So I would recommend looking at yelp photos to help you decide what to choose as well.

We came with just one mission, it was to get the passion fruit tart pie! I would definitely try out the other food

5 stars for lemon tart. It's a right sweetness. Nice crust. No display items. Only on site outdoor window picture shopping. We are happy with the purchase. 9" for $28

Cool place, however missing the inside dining experience.
You can make your order by looking at the pictures of what's available posted outside in the window.
Can recommend lavender latte, that made our day a bit more pleasant.
Don't forget to ask to warm up your order, otherwise comes very cold

Merry Christmas.

Quality/Quantity - Wow, one of the BEST stollen I have ever tasted!!!
Good quantity also, took us 2 days to eat it in between our excessive holiday meals, LOL.

Atmosphere - N/A; as we received this as a gift from our Friend.

Service - 5 stars, as this was hand delivered from our good friend.

Price - Free as it was a gift, but if purchased, it costs approximately $22.

Owner Suggestion - Congrats on all your success. Looks like you are doing well on your Park Street location, and adjusting well even during the pandemic.

I also believe you have a successful wholesale

Finally visited this place after having this in my bookmarks for years! I came on a Thursday morning and the place wasn't busy and I was able to find parking at the small parking lot. As of December, they are only open for pickups. The workers are really nice and friendly. The menu is up on the window with pictures so it was convenient to know what the pastries look like since they are not visible from the outside. There were a few pastries that weren't up though but I heard other customers ordering them so if there's anything you don't see, they probably have them if you ask

Came here Saturday morning around 09:30 and ham/cheese croissants were sold out .. hmm. If it's a popular item, maybe should make more?! So then ended up with the jalapeño cheese croissant which was not cheesy at all. Served cold and didn't even bother toasting it up. Coffee and lavender latte were Luke warm. Better yet bread pudding had a piece of foil inside .. not sure if it's worth the price and time to come back ...

- star cold coffee/pastry
-foil in pastry
- pricy

Cute shop with good tasting coffee and lattes. I was excited for the pastries since they sounded great but they turned out a bit dry. I also got their peppermint latte and it was good but didn't really have a peppermint taste to it so maybe it's better to just stick with a normal latte next time.

We ordered chocolate raspberry mousse cake, covered with vanilla frosting with extra sprinkles for our daughter's birthday and it was delicious. Lovely cake, delivered in time.

Best chocolate cake I have ever eaten. I had one for my friend's 70th and she still comments on it, 4 years later.

I found the quality of goods here to live up to the hype. Basically a Piedmont type of experience right here in Alameda. The challenge is that they seem to cater to the early morning crowd, so expect most things to be sold out by as early as 9a... and to have to wait in line. I guess that's the price of popularity!

Flakey, buttery, flavorful, crunchy, airy, and delicious fillings?! Heaven's sake! Pretty much robbed the store today with the almond croissant, today's bostock (pastry with nutella filling with almond pastry topping, get out of town-I KNOW!), ginger scone, white chocolate + cranberry macadamia nut cookie, and stonefruit pie. Didn't realize the pie would be a full 9' pie but ain't mad about it one bit! Currently, it's a walk-up where you're able to order but as long as they keep baking these scrumptious babies, I'm there and you should be, too.

Finally got to try this place and I craved it so much I had to get it the week after. Basically, I am a fan of their breads and scones!! Their pastries are alright, but I'm more into the savory stuff they have here rather than their sweets. What I've tried so far:

Olive Baguette - 4/5. I actually ordered the cranberry walnut bread but they gave me this on accident. But it's okay cause I guess I wanted to try it LOL. It was soo soft and moist in a good way!

Chedder Scallion Scone - 5/5. I LOVEEDD this. Like everyone says it basically tastes like a biscuit rather than a scone and

These guys are on point for COVID prep, kudos for that. Service is friendly and prompt. And their pastries are all VERY high quality.

So, why 4 stars?

Simple: there is no chocolate in the chocolate croissant. Okay, there's a wisp, a hint... I wanted to chalk this up to just bad luck the first, er, eight times. But, sadly, it appears to be by design - either the head chef is diabetic, or the accounting department is in charge of cocoa disbursement.

Worse? What little chocolate there is, stays in a solid stringy lump at the very bottom of the pastry. It's the equivalent of seeing

BFF and I finally tried this place this past Saturday morning. We walked early to avoid the line (that I always see driving by on Park St) and thankfully, we got there and there was only one person in line.

The menu was through pictures (no prices) so be warned... I ended up getting 4 sticky buns, 1 bostock, and 1 banana bread with a triple shot latte. My total damage was around $35... they boxed it up and upon receiving the box, it felt heavy for 6 pastries. When my family and I opened it at home, we found out why... the portions are gigantic and they definitely didn't cheap out on ingredients

Lovely bakery that we visit every chance we get for their bostock (toast with jam and almond paste) and croissants. Friendly staff, and very cool that they have an online order-ahead system.

Came here early friday morning shortly after opening. There wasn't any line & they were being really safe in terms of COVID-19 protocols. You aren't able to go inside but you can easily see what they're offering while in line.

Parking: there are several street parking along the street, otherwise, they have a parking lot in the back with decent amount of spaces.

Pastries Recommendations:
-almond croissant: highly recommend this. They certainly don't skimp on the almond filling like most places so was really pleased with that. Additionally, the outer layer was the right

WHEN: DURING COVID-19

I'm so happy to see them set up during the Pandemic. You don't go inside because they open up 2 of their windows for you to walk up and order. There's usually a line but not long. For as long as I've lived in Alameda, Crispian is still my favorite bakery.

Here's what I usually get:

HAM AND SWISS CROISSANT - $4.75
This is always my first choice but it seems I need to come at opening time for them cuz they seem to always sell out. But its okay, lucky for me Crispian has a lot of yummy pastries to choose from! But the flavors of this is so good

Crispian Bakery is a great place to get pastries or coffee. The staff is sweet and super helpful. I went twice while on a four day trip. Both times the food was amazing and my lattes were delicious. My daughter can be a little shy to try new food and drinks. The staff there made her feel encouraged to try something out of her comfort zone and even said if she didn't like it they'd give her something else for free. I will be going again next time I'm in Alameda!

The cashier Clara was very delightful! I got there a little too late in the day to get a croissant but luckily they had some amazing ginger cookies that totally hit the spot! I will go back next time sooner to be able to try what I was originally hoping to get. Overall experience was still fantastic. Personality is paramount!
