Lake Travis Eye and Laser Center was founded to provide the Lake Travis area with a state-of-the-art ophthalmology practice specializing in cataract surgery, complete glaucoma care, and refractive surgery, such as LASIK. Drs. Rhodes and Dang strongly believes in providing the best possible care for each patient that comes through the door.
You have realized that you need an ophthalmologist, and after reading about the quality of care that Dr. Kyle Rhodes and Dr. Tommy Dang offer, you have decided that our eye surgeons are the physicians for you. Now what? Our New Patient Center is equipped to help you get things started, making the new-patient intake process as seamless as possible.
At Lake Travis Eye and Laser Center, we are dedicated to improving your vision, so you have the clearest sight possible. We accept Medicare, most medical insurance plans, checks, cash and most credit cards. We educate our patients about treatment costs before you undergo any procedures. Please let us know if you require a breakdown of your treatment costs.
Eye allergies are often hereditary, and occur due to mechanisms similar to systemic allergies. Your body may be overreacting to a substance perceived as harmful, even though it may not be. For example, dust or cat dander does not bother many people, but other people react with congestion, a runny nose, and swollen eyes.
Dry eye is a condition where your eye is not producing enough tears to adequately wet the front of the eye. This can be quite confusing, since one of the common symptoms of dry eye syndrome is excessive watering of the eyes. This is possible because the eye makes two different types of tears, lubricating and reflex.

I found Dr. Rhodes via my insurance website when I moved here nearly 10 years ago. I’ve always felt that I’ve received the most comprehensive exams that I’ve ever received. His staff are always very friendly and always provide clear answers to any questions. Dr. Rhodes who I find extremely competent and professional also makes you feel like you are his only patient.

The staff were helpful, personable, and knowledgeable. I knew just what to expect at every step. Dr Rhodes was familiar with my case when he walked in the door. Because I came for a second opinion it was important that I gain some insights into my problem. He was thorough and able to address everything in a way that was understandable. I am so glad I went to their office!!

I felt like a person not a number at this facility. As much time as I needed was spent with me. All was thoroughly explained. But most important to me was that the doctor and hi staff made an effort to know me. Not just as a potential cataract surgery candidate but as a person who has a job, who has fears and who is intelligent enough to understand the options.

Recommend 100%! I recently had lens replacement and unfortunately, experienced an unpredictable complication. Dr. Rhodes and his amazing team were empathetic, professional, and most importantly, committed to resolving the situation to provide my best visual outcome. The good doctor even gave me his personal cell phone number and addressed every concern, big or small, in a timely manner. I'm sure I drove the entire staff crazy, but they remained patient and focused on the task at hand.

My optometrist indicated that I needed cataract eye surgery. I asked for her to refer me to the best. Without hesitation, she recommended Dr. Rhodes at Lake Travis Eye. I couldn't be more delighted. Dr. Rhodes and his staff were very professional, competent and thorough. Excellent post-op follow up. The process, treatment and results exceeded my expectations. There is a good chance that some day I will need similar surgery for my other eye. Without a doubt, I know where I will be going to get it done.

The staff is polite, efficient & the tech who took care of me was very compassionate. Dr. Rhodes is excellent in every way & has taken excellent care of my eyes for the past 3 years. I had cataract removal & replacement of the perfect set for my lifestyle. I also have dry eyes, which he follows closely. He too is a compassionate human being in addition to being a specialist in his field. I strongly recommend him for your eye care!!
