This is obviously true of the food we serve, but it goes deeper than that. We buy locally, not just because it provides you with fresher, healthier food, but also because it makes for a healthier community. Buying local means we are supporting our neighbors, our friends, people we develop relationships with.
We don't have to wonder about where our food came from, we have shaken the hands of the people who grew or raised it. And, we do know those growers well! We choose them because they share our values of raising food in a sustainable way that causes the least harm to the environment. Animals are grass-fed and raised without hormones.

Services
Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, because we don't want anyone taking home the wrong dog!. Dogs must be currently vaccinated for rabies and wearing a collar or harness with current license attached to it. Due to Health Department regulations, dogs are not allowed to eat on the premises (but we have bags to go!).

The Cove has become a San Antonio staple, with something for everyone. The only bad thing here is the parking.
The quirky menu definitely leans to healthy and vegetarian options but carnivores will find plenty to please their palates.
Their bar and beer menu are impressive, as is their playground! Parents of human and canine children alike will be pleased with the open seating and laid-back dining. Prices are also family-budget friendly.

Came to San Antonio for a day trip with mi familia. We chose The Cove because of the GF options. I’ve recently been diagnosed with celiac disease so this place was perfect for my burger fix. I had the Good’a Burger with the gf bun and baby, let me tell you something…it was delicious! I’m excited about our move and ecstatic to find this place!

Definitely a SA-town staple. I love how everything is made to order. Handmade too! The Gluten Free Buns are a plus for a gluten allergy prone person. I hadn't eaten a burger in so long!! It was almost how I remember it being. The fries were so good. Don't forget to order the Ginger Ale!! They smash the ginger in house and it's great for upset tummies. If you're downtown near SAC on San Pedro you should visit this establishment. You won't be disappointed.

This place was AMAZING! Bob Ross said it best "Happy Accidents", we were intending to eat at a different restaurant, but GPS took us here and we loved it! Will definitely make the drive back. For those who have allergies this place has Delicious Gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options all locally sourced and homemade! The best homemade blue corn tortillas I have ever eaten! Guy Fieri ate here and gave The Cove rewards for a reason. Family friendly had beautiful shaded, spacious outdoor seating surrounded by herb gardens, a park for your kids, a bar with tap beer, fire pits, and dog friendly

Love this place. Surprised I never wrote a review before. I appreciate the ability to eat really healthy or NOT. Tons of vegetarian options too!
On this trip I got the naked burger, sweet potato fries and seasonal broccoli. The naked burger is so yummy you don't even feel like you are being healthy and the sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp and a generous helping. I enjoyed the broccoli to top me off and feel extra healthy.
I miss the days of the dog park, but the kids playground is nicely redone.

Hands down one of the best vegetarian burgers. The portions and the flavors all ticked all the boxes. Not to mention that soda which only made me wanna stay there even longer trying all the different flavors. I didn't leave with any more space in my stomach, just with more will to come another day.
The service was friendly and very straightforward. The sitting area had options like crazy and plenty of entertainment for the family. We entered from the side of the car wash which was a bit confusing but it all made sense once we got inside.

This is my fifth time at the Cove. Â The previous four have been a good experience. Â Unfortunately, today was the worst.
It started with a 20 minute wait to place my order. Â I arrived at approximately 5:45 PM, not exactly peak diner time, and had to wait in a long line because they only had one register open, although they had two available.
I then had to wait 45 minutes for my order to arrive. Â The burger I ordered was luke warm at best and the fries were cold. Â Of course I paid full price for the this experience.

My favorite is the EggCeptional Burger. It's delicious and the ingredients are very fresh. They typically have a blackboard with where all the ingredients are from which is cool to know where your food came from. It's a great spot for outdoor eating as well with plenty of seating outside. The Stubborn sodas are really tasty too.

We stopped by after seeing the review on food channel. Place looks nice and well kept. My bf had the 09er burger with fries and he said it was okay. The fries were soft. I tried the Captain Jack because of it uniqueness made from young jackfruits, however it was too salty. The flavor is there but the sodium was way too much.

The cove is a great spot to relax and have a bite to eat. They have some great vegetarian options, burgers are great and fries are hand cut perfection! There is an extensive beer selection, deserving of many return trips. Dogs are welcome and if you have kids there is a play area. They have an adjacent car wash if you want to clean your ride then relax. The cove is a great spot for food, friends and relaxing.

Met up with a visiting friend here at their request. The Cove is one of their favorite places to come while in San Antonio and my family and I had never tried it before. We love it. I loved the real burger and I don't eat burgers too often...but I would eat burgers here at The Cove!
The place is pretty cool. I was confused at first on where the parking area was but I found a spot. I always appreciate a good outdoor eating experience, especially one where the kids can play. I have been coming to The Cove for at least 7 years now. They support sustainable, organic, and local ingredients and have remained my favorite burger spot in San Antonio. They have changed the menu a bit recently, but I assume it was due to COVID. I used to get the '09er burger pretty regularly, but I haven't seen it on the menu these last few months. My other staples, such as EggCeptional, Blue Bison, and of course the sweet potato fries are still there.
The Cove is a great spot to grab some beers, listen to music, enjoy eating outdoors, and even bring a dog (kept on a leash).

Such a cool spot. If you pull in from Fred it's very unassuming and you think maybe it's not a restaurant at all. Maybe a car wash or a laundromat?
But once you're in it's got a great casual vibe. Ordering food you realize how intentional they are on food sourcing and you already feel less guilty about eating the nachos you're considering (order the nachos btw).
Nothing pretentious about this place.
Excellent food, great beer selection, & great efficiency so don't let the lines scare you.
They're fast.

I had always wanted to try this joint and finally did. The process is a little odd because of COVID but we gave it shot anyway. I selected the shrimp tacos with cabbage on corn tortillas with their unique sauce. They were perfect, especially with some freshly squeezed lime juice.
I arranged my taco perfectly to capture all the delicious shrimp, prepared perfectly. My daughter had the Bacon Burger and it was juicy and very tasty. We'll be back to try more of the menu soon.

I was super excited to come try this place again after moving back.
Unfortunately, the service was highly upsetting. Our waiter visited our table to take order and that's the last time I spoke to him. I couldn't get a refill of water the 1 1/2 hours I was here. My friend had to flag him down to get the side he requested with his initial order. I had to flag him down after walking pass us multiple times to get the check.
I was also disappointed to see that they had a party of 13-14 people when the sign says no more than ten.
No gloves and kids were running around their tables with
