Elegant and cozy restaurant for some fine dining, without a high price tag. Definitely my go to restaurant to dine with that special someone, or family. They have plenty of tables for 2, and also some nice tables for groups. Saw a private dining room, which is definitely something to try for special gatherings with the family and friends.
The food... wow ! Simply amazing. The lamb rack is something to die for. Potato fries... didnt know it could taste so nice. What flavour. Loved the food here, and more the presentation and overall experience.

Outstanding experience is an understatement! We absolutely loved the place, the cuisine and the service by Rudy. A dining trifecta. We had a lovely table by the window for Christmas Eve and started with:

-Assorted Bread Basket - Foccacia, french, and cornbread
-Escargot - Whoa, not the traditional type but the portion was hearty and tasty
-Potstickers- Pan-fried to perfection
-Scallops - Cooked divinely
-Caesar - Split with my husband, again delectable
-Beef - Melted in your mouth
-Sticky pudding - Nicely split for each of us

Topped with amazing cocktails, Old Fashions and Vodka Martini plus

Never been here and wouldn't go...any place that serves foie gras should be ashamed.
Geese or ducks have a feeding tube shoved down their throats to force feed them thus causing an enlarged liver and eventually (in many cases organ failure).
...the foie gras is the enlarged liver of these poor abused animals.
It is illegal and many places. If you want to support such horrible torturous acts...by all means, eat here....if you have a heart...do not.

Exquisite service! Waiter was attentive, respectful and chill. We were his first table and I was quite impressed. My 2nd time here. Food was scrumptious. I had goat cheese, arugula, and beet salad, scallops and shrimp, and sample dessert. Great ambience. Highly recommend. Wish they would enforce the dress code more.😉

I really want to only give 3.5! Went for my Birthday dinner last night, greeted very friendly, gave us a great table, then we waited.... And waited ..... And waited!!!! After 20 mins, Trey came over and apologized for the wait said he would be right back. 5-8 mins later, he comes back and takes a drink order, then off he goes!! Another 9-10 mins goes by and a man comes up with drinks ( I asked for vodka & lemonade, a sweet lemonade) my drink was as tart as a mouth full of what sour limes would taste - AWFUL!!!!! Had to wait for him to come around and take my drink back!! Came back so-so

What a wonderful dining experience this was! Biga’s on the Banks changes their menu every single day and I also love that they offer half portions on the entrees to maximize your tastebud experience. I had a 1/2 portion of the Scallops and Shrimp noodles (from their Traveling Taste Bud experience that features different dishes from around the world), and a 1/2 portion of their signature Antelope and Quail dish. Delicious!!
Our server, Jose C., was SO knowledgeable, polite, attentive, and had the best recommendations for meal choices and pairings. He made the experience extra special for us!

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere! We were in town for a conference and stopped by Biga one evening. Everything on the menu was delicious and our waiter was so attentive and helpful! We also loved how a lot of the dishes could be ordered as either half or full portions.

The food and service here were good. The meals were interesting and plated well. My party ordered the 3 course prix fixe. I had grilled beets as a starter, followed by the Slow cooked Angus Denver and ending with the Pear Upside down cake.
The beet salad and pear upside down cake were wonderful. The slow cooked Angus Denver was cooked very well however it tasted and came apart like a juicy, but bland brisket. I was underwhelmed by it and wished I tried the Salmon instead.
Overall our experience was very nice at the restaurant for our first time and I would like to try a different meal next time

My family and I had an unforgettable experience at Biga today. The service was 100%. Chef Bruce came out to talk to my children, then took them back into the kitchen so they could pick what to eat - then created a special off-menu dish for them. The food was spectacular. We can't wait to come back!!

I last reviewed this place over 10 years ago and loved it! Since then my palette and budget have changed dramatically and I have eaten at sone amazing restaurants so as this was a private party not sure if that skewered the food or my tastes have changed but u was not impressed

Found that overall decor dated and in dire need of a refresh. Did not feel like s fine dining restaurant.

The menu was pre fixed so our choices were limited and was not cohesive: Began with an Asian inspired salad, that was really good, fresh and liked the sesame taste. Then 'Scottish ' salmon - which was

Had a great birthday dinner at Biga last night! We chose their Pre Fix 3 course menu...they are currently doing the taste of Japan and the food had Asian flare. Everything was delicious and service top-notch! Definitely recommend for a special occasion!

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and service we received. First of all, 5 stars all around for our waiter Gabriel. He takes so much pride in his service and gave us tips on where to go in the city. He's also a blast to be around!! The food was spectacular. They first come out with 3 different types of bread to sample. Post bread.....my wife had the quail and I had the rack of lamb which didn't disappoint. The star of the show though was the english toffee custard with chocolate lava cake. Almost sinful ;) If you're in San Antonio, this is the place to

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary here for dinner. We parked at One Alamo Center (entrance off E. Commerce before the South St. Mary’s intersection) and it was a convenient 1-minute walk to Biga on the Banks from there. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated early. Our server was very friendly, and perfectly balanced being attentive while also leaving us alone to enjoy our meal. The interior is upscale and this would be a good place for a date or to have a business dinner while staying downtown.
We started off with Moscow Mules and the shishito

OMG What a place! My group visited last night. Everything was excellent, the food, the staff and even the fellow customer were all way above average. They have seven James Beard awards and after dining there you will know why. They have a rotating monthly menu as well as consistent base menu items. Also don't miss dessert.

First off, the entrance is inside the International Center. The service was great and the food was unique and delicious. Drinks came out quickly and the Watermelon Gin drink balanced the mild watermelon to the gin and had a hint of pineapple. To start the habanero scallops were perfectly tender and so flavorful. The habanero produced a medium heat and the pineapple cut it with sweetness. The underlaid cheesy grits were very delicious also. The cheese plate was very good with 3 assorted cheeses from Switzerland and France. The venison was tender and delicious, cooked medium rare, and the quail was

Service is top notch!
The food is fantastic.
The chicken fried oysters on squid ink pasta was the best I've had in San Antonio.

Salmon was amazing as well.

Exceptional service, great ambiance! You could cut the meat with a fork! Also enjoyed the wine tasting with every course. If my grits under the meat were hot that would have taken it up a notch but my guess is that's a one off so overall I am pleased.

Wow wow wow. This place was wonderful. We went for our first fancy dinner in SA, and it did not disappoint. We skipped appetizers and went straight for entrees. I got the antelope and quail dish to branch out and it was fantastic. They change their menu daily so it's hard to pinpoint a dish specifically but they definitely have high standards and their service is on point. Our server gave recommendations and made sure we had all we needed and wanted. If you're in the area, make a reservation and enjoy yourself

We made reservations for my wife's birthday while on our trip to San Antonio. Loved the location and the view of the river walk it provided. Our server Chris was very knowledgeable of the new menu and helped with any questions we had. We ordered dumplings for an app, salmon and the venison for entrees, along with a dessert sampler and a Kahlua banana cake. We would highly recommend this place while you visit the San Antonio River Walk area.
