This was a great spot! We were walking magazine and just came upon it at lunch time. Cute outdoor seating, specials, and very kind and friendly wait staff. We got eggplant napoleon, rice and beans (both an app and a full meal with the andouille), and a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious! Perfect lunch spot! We didn't get cocktails so can't speak to those... beer was beer. Usually I get pictures but we ate it so fast there was no time.

Just landed, asked folks working at the airport where they suggested we go for lunch! Out of the 10 people we asked, 5 said Joey K's! So, Taxi, take us to Joey K's... his response, eat the bread pudding before lunch! Well.. that's what we did!
The bread pudding was very good! You could taste the rum, but it wasn't overpowering! Great texture, but probably would've preferred it at the end, my beer wasn't the best pairing, but it did not disappoint.
The eggplant you see is an appetizer, but man was it filling! It may be the best I've ever had! The sauce, along

I had an amazing experience here! Wow. I had the eggplant Napoleon pasta, the shrimp magazine, and some great drinks. For dessert we enjoyed the lava cake and the blackberry cobnler a la mode. This place is a stop you must make! Oh...how can I forget about the Beignet's with cornmeal, spices, and crab! Amazing!

The food and customer service are wonderful. We visited New Orleans on vacation, and this was the best restaurant that we visited. As an appetizer, we ordered fried catfish. It was hot and fresh when they brought it out. My husband ordered a Sunday special, that consisted of a roast beef po' boy, jambalaya rice, and red beans and rice. My husband liked the jambalaya so much that he asked for an order to go. I ordered the fried oysters and fries. For drinks, my husband and I had the unlimited mimosas. We ordered a lot of food and everything tasted great. The waitress was prompt and friendly

Homey local favorite! Magazine street is full of great options, but Joey K's clearly has their regulars.
Seating options were available in the dining room and on the sidewalk, but there was some street work going on at the time.
I definitely don't regret my entree option. The fried chicken was delicious and they gave you the option of lite or dark meat pending your preference. I went with the dark and it was juicy, flavorful and had crispy and flaky skin. Paired with green beans and red beans and rice.

This place is a gem for a quick, cheap, delicious lunch. My Caesar Salad side was so delicious and the Chicken Fried Steak-which is actually pork- came out piping hot. It was crispy, flavorful and huge. I couldn't finish it all. Service was awesome too. I wish I would have saved room for dessert...next time!

Oddly I used to not like Joey K's after a few tries, but now I've changed my mind. JK's is a casual, bustling southern food spot on a busy stretch of Magazine. You know it's well-reviewed because it always appears to have a few tables of tourists. It has a somewhat unique atmosphere and menu in that it's more generally Louisiana and/or southern than Nola (I now realize not necessarily a bad thing as we have plenty great Nola places). On the one hand nothing is great, but on the other pretty much everything is solid (red beans, fried seafood, chicken fried steak, etc.).

This place was packed for lunch when I went. I got a table right away but the service was on the slower side. It also took a while to get our food. I got a Bloody Mary which came with some pickled veggie toppings. It was on the saltier side but flavorful. The food was quite heavy. I tried the jambalaya and wish I had ordered a bowl rather than a plate. I could only eat half of it. It tasted good but was heavy. The menu had a range of traditional New Orleans food mixed with some Italian dishes as well like scampi and chicken parm.

Visited this place after seeing a YouTube video. We went in around 8pm and it was pretty empty. Service was very good (as I've found with all NOLA restaurants.. People are so nice here!)
We started with the eggplant napolean as an appetizer.. Boy that was a whole meal, haha. It is indulgent but it's not messy-every part of it was done well and it was delicious. I have to say though, even between two of us it was so heavy that we couldn't enjoy our actual entree to the fullest.
I got the trout tchopitolous and my bf got the soft crab. Yum!!! The fish was flaky and light, soft crab

I can't believe I haven't written a review for these guys yet- I've been bringing my food tour guests here since I started! Great location for tourists (get out the French Quarter already, what are you doing?) and locals- the place is full of regulars, first responders on their lunch hour (always a good sign) and neighborhood folks. The daily lunch special offers something new every day and you'll find classics like jambalaya, po-boys, red beans and rice... A few new takes too, like the eggplant napoleon (even if you aren't an eggplant fan, you owe it to yourself to try the appetizer) and crab

The food was absolutely amazing. We stopped on a whim, and so happy we did. The staff were all extremely friendly as well.
We started with the onion rings which are hand battered. The batter was light, and onions were soft and tender. Fantastic.
For our main meal I had the steak burger and my wife had the roasted Turkey.
Both meals were extreme flavorful and much larger in portion size than expected.

While my boyfriend and I were visiting New Orleans, we were brewery hopping and as we were walking between two breweries near the Garden District, we got caught in a storm that came from literally no where. It was the heaviest rain we've ever experienced! Luckily for us it was dinner time and we walked past Joey K's Restaurant and decided we'd try to wait out the pop-up storm and get dinner too!
At first glance, there's nothing to really to note about Joey K's Restaurant. The inside is a warm shade of brown with wood as far as the eye could see. I initially felt we had

We were on the "On and Off" bus tour in New Orleans (highly recommend it!) and we walked in to this place. Quaint & charming, with some funny signs on the walls...
After joining 2 tables together, the 7 of us were seated. I ordered the Shrimp magazine and my bride ordered the Turkey dinner special. Our kids ordered chicken-fried steak, chicken Caesar salad, and chicken tenders.
Everyone enjoyed their grub!! Shrimp was delicious, with a perfect amount of garlic butter on the noodles and artichoke hearts. Turkey was cooked perfectly, and all the trimmings included. My son was a little

We googled “restaurants in garden district” while visiting and this place was one of the top options. I am so glad that we decided to eat lunch here. I immediately loved the look of the place when we walked in. We both started off with a cup of red beans and rice and ate that deliciousness quickly. I ordered the Wednesday special which was chicken cordon bleu. It came with new potatoes and I subbed the mix veggies for macaroni and cheese (I always have to get that if on a menu). Excellent meal!!! It was a large portion and I wanted to save room for dessert so I ate half. It was a perfect late

Second stop on the New Orleans food tour..
Came here after hearing about the Eggplant Napoleons and that didn't disappoint.
The other highlights were the crab balls, and fried artichoke hearts. Very very good
All those were appetizers.
The entrees were just ok but not much to talk about.
Service was great. Cant say I would come back.

Was hoping this would be a good choice given how many people were here on a Friday night but everything was just meh.
They had a fair amount of pasta on the list so I figured/hoped it would be a good choice. I got the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was not ripe and it was super hard to cut through with my fork. Bf got the tuna rare/seared and they definitely got it to him at the right/requested temp and the size was good.
Our server was nice and quick which helped bumped this up to a 3 star for me.

If you want southern food in the garden district in New Orleans, this place is a good one to try. One of my daughters had a kids spaghetti and meatball. It was one huge meatball and her eyes were huge with excitement when she saw it. My other daughter had the kids fried shrimp and she said it was delicious. This plate was piled high with French fries as a side, needless to say she couldn't finish them. I had the meatloaf with Mac and cheese and green beans. It was so hood, but also so heavy that I couldn't finish it. My husband had the seafood platter. This thing was huge. It was hush
