Most good reviews on here are NOT recent so please beware!!!!!! This is a current review; as of 1/19/2022.

The owner, Gilberto, who also works for Recology, and his wife, Angelica were the best!!!!! Angelica always made sure the pupusas were bomb. Well, now Gilberto and Angelica are getting divorced and he brought in his new woman and everything has gone downhill. Most neighbors on my block and I have been buying from Zipotes since they opened. But, according to their employee/manager, Jorge, Gilberto cheated on his wife and is letting the new woman run the restaurant. And according to him, since

The Pupusa's are really good I have been buying for years, but when I ordered a burrito for the first time the meat was really salty, the rice was not good, and it was missing some stuff, over all the worst burrito I have ever had.

Pricing is getting out control at this business. They not only charge you $.50 for to go orders but they have gone from $2.50 a pupusa to $3.70 and for a breakfast from $11.50 to $18 !!!!??

Been here many times. They are getting faster with their service, but still no dining in. Lots of signs saying no public restrooms. I guess this is requested a lot? Anyway, the pupusas are delicious.

I know good quality Salvadoran food when I taste it and this place doesn't have it. The pupusas were okay, the curtido had no flavor and the tamales were horrible. They tasted like no one in that kitchen had a clue, I couldn't even eat one whole tamale it was so bad.

Ok, let's get this out of the way because I read it in other reviews and didn't know what to believe. Yes, it takes forever to get your order. I called and was quoted half an hour, and when I arrived, it still took an additional 20 minutes. But these are handmade pupusas we're talking about - so some slack must be cut.

With that said, the pupusas are worth it. They're at least as good as my favorite place in Hayward with a similar cost, and since I live in San Carlos, this is a much more convenient location. I ordered 8 revueltas to be split amongst myself and 2 others who

Just want to say their pupusas taste good, not too greasy but their customer service is terrible. I made a phone order and was told it will be ready in 20 min. When I got there they told me it will be ready in 30 min cause they're backup. No apologies or try to make up for their mistakes. They just ignore you and they feel like i am blessed to eat their food.

I was concerned that my chicken would taste fatty and chemical raised but it was SO delicious. The plantains were spot on and everything was hot fresh and delicious! Will definitely be coming back again. Excellent!

Pupusas were decent. I've had better. But the low score is because of the pricing. I ordered 24 to go pupusas and was charged $91 dollars. That's almost $4 dollars per pupusa! On their website they advertised $2.75 per pupusa. Not the case when I ordered through the phone. Won't be returning here.

(4/23/17) Came here again and again and each time I was satisfied. My most recent visit was this year before COVID and again I enjoyed my pupusas. I'm not to thrilled with their curtido it lacks flavor. Pupusa's are a little on the greasy side but that didn't seem to stop me from devouring my two revueltas. This is the only place I know of that makes pupusas in rice dough mhmmm my favorite. You have to ask they don't offer cause it's not common. Ordering was easy...they understood my broken Spanish and made sure my order would be ready for pick up.

Don't go here! The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the lady at the register. She was sweet and considerate.
I came here to try it out , since I live in the neighborhood. All I ordered was the Pupusas , just one . First it took forever and then I found out they burnt the first one, later on after I finally got my Pupusas and after almost half way through I noticed that they forgot the meat! Not worth you're time or money. Pic below of my screwed up Pupusas.

The food is delicious. The pupusas are authentic and flavorful.
The problem is the customer service. It takes too long to make them, they seem uninterested in helping and when i try to order through phone, they either hang up or let the phone ring.
It's almost like a mission to get your hands on this amazing food.
A mission I'm not willing to go through when I'm starving.

The receptionist is very rude. There is a menu above the counter we ordered their specialty #1 and guess what she says, I don't know what the #1 menu is. She said the verbiage exactly like that with a shout.
My husband just place the order, but mannnnn if I was there when she said that I would have pulled her out of her comfort zone behind the counter to show her the company menu.
We drove all the way from Mountain View to come to a this place to try their advertised Pupusa. Bad bad badly human beings behind the counter.

Pupusas are made fresh and were absolutely delicious. I was super hungry and ordered four of them and was totally stuffed and satisfied after eating only one! Very generous portions and super tasty, definitely worth any wait. I brought them home and heated them up on a stove and they were just as good. Horchata was on point too, and the staff was super friendly. Would definitely come back again whenever I have a fix for authentic Salvadoran food, or just need a quick snack.

Took my coworker here. She had never had pupusas before.
This is her feedback: since she's vegetarian ( during the week) she would recommend adding more beans to the Beans and Cheese pupusas.
The cabbage was okay, it could have had some jalapeƱos for that extra kick. Perhaps having two types of curtido, one mild and one spicy would be good.

We called at 11:30 am to place our order on a Wednesday and when we arrived by 12:15 pm our 6 pupusas were ready. No need to wait.

Will definitely come again! Gracias!

Friendly local neighborhood spot. Has a dinky parking lot, but there were spaces available. Service was decent, there were friendly faces. It did take some time (waiting in line, ordering and waiting for food) , but this is to be expected in a Mom and pops shop like this. Home made food, fresh and hot out of the oven (literally!)

Pupusa was tasty, but skimped on the cheese. It was okay in size (I've had bigger lol!). I also ordered a side of plantains, generous portion. Cheap and affordable eats, total only came out to around $5.

Overall, I enjoyed the meal.

Delicious! The pupusas are HUGE (see credit card for size) and are freshly made. It's a casual restaurant but the experience can be like a sit-down restaurant. Your food is brought out to you and they clear the tables as well. Go for the queso and loroco pupusa which have flower buds that taste a bit like cactus. The horchata is great too.

Upgrading from 3 to 4 stars after having a really great breakfast today. The Salvadoran breakfast comes with two eggs (any style), plantains, rice and beans, cheese, and chicken tamales. All were very good. In fact, they were so good that I ordered two more to go. Unfortunately, the ones that were packed did not have plantains (so always good to check items before walking out the door).

The corn atole "oatmeal" was too sweet to consume.

My prior 3 star rating was based on super slow service... though the food on a prior visit was good overall.

This place is better to visit when
