Services
Casamento's Restaurant was established in 1919 by Joe Casamento, a hard working immigrant from Ustica, Italy. Casamento's is a spotlessly clean restaurant tiled inside and out with over 100 year old imported Italian tile. Following building traditions from his native Italy, Mr. Casamento knew tiled surfaces would be easier to clean and would retain their original beauty for a very long time.
All dinners (except Spaghetti and Meatballs) are served with a side of our homemade French fries (or C's chargrilled fries for 0.50 extra) and toast. Large dinners and seafood platter are also served with a side of coleslaw. Includes fried oysters, shrimp, crab claws, your choice of trout or catfish, homemade French fries (or C's fries for 0.75 extra), coleslaw and toast.
Casamento's Restaurant is the perfect setting for any occasion. We have hosted all sorts of events and celebrations, such as engagement parties, bridal/couple/baby showers, anniversaries, family reunions, birthday parties, wrap parties, graduation parties, and many more!. Private events are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from September thru May, and also over the summer when the restaurant is closed.
Emeril Lagasse shucking oysters at Casamento's for the filming of his Cooking Channel show "The Originals". Ray Liotta and Ben Mendelsohn in the filming of the movie "Killing Them Softly" at Casamento's. Nicole Gerdes and Bradley Cooper at Casamento's for the filming of the movie "Adam Jones". The food was very good. We shared a dozen on the half shell, 1/2 dozen chargrilled, a bowl of oyster stew, fried crab claws, half an oyster loaf and chargrilled fries (skin-on with the chargrilled oyster topping) and all was tasty. The oyster stew was not very warm when delivered, the service was a little spotty (had to ask twice for a couple items), and the staff did not seem at all happy to be there. Virtually no smiles during our meal. The staff at Domilise's in contrast, smiled a lot, thanked us multiple times for our business and were just nicer.

Nice stop for a bite. Great oysters cold and cleaned. The evenings walking around are very nice. The tram is fun to ride and explore many non tourist areas. The main strip can get crowded at times and pay attention to pick pockets. There are many great food stops along the way but this one is a super first or last stop in this city.

Made a trip here for lunch. One of the best decisions I ever made.
A really great old line oyster bar and restaurant. Family owned and run, and it shows in their attention to quality and service. Lots of locals coming in for lunch, and that is always a good sign.
My friend had a bowl of seafood gumbo. It smelled wonderful and he thought it was the best one he'd ever had. I ordered a dozen oysters. They were plump, salty and sweet at the same time. Very clean as well.
I also had 1/2 a shrimp loaf. Packed with fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato and mayo on lightly grilled and buttered bread it was

Great little hole in the wall with amazing fresh oysters! The loaves are huge, the seafood tasty and the servers are friendly! We were there later in the evening but were welcomed warmly and enjoyed our meal. The oyster stew is exactly as I remember my mom making when I was a child. The catfish loaf and oyster loaf were both delicious. We will be visiting again on our next trip to NOLA. It is cash only so be sure to hit the ATM before going!
