This is a fairly small sized gym compared to what I was used to but I like it. Even during peak hours it doesn’t feel real crowded. It’s easy to come in, do a complete workout, and leave conveniently due to close places to park and easy in and out. It’s nothing fancy but is clean, well maintained, and has a good amount and variety of equipment. The price is reasonable too since I’m not paying for a pool, sauna, and other amenities I wouldn’t use. I like knowing I am helping support a small, local business. 😊

I have been a member at Statera for almost three years and have loved it. My original review stands, but just to update, it truly is still the best deal for a gym you'll find in St. Paul.
It's not fancy, but it's clean and well-equipped. Lots of barbells to use, tons of free weights, and I rarely have to negotiate space with others. There are usually only a few other people at the gym when I'm there in the early morning, and the folks are friendly without being intrusive.
I'm so happy to have worked out here for years! Sad to leave this awesome gym in my move!

This is an awesome small gym. No nonsense place with only a few millennial bros who can easily be ignored... Unless they are sitting on a machine not working out and texting....but I digress. Just regular Joes and Janes getting their workout on. I never feel intimidated or anxious walking into this place. I love this gym!!

I've belonged to Statera since it opened further east on Selby. I've seen it grow and evolve. I would never consider another gym. Many of the members have been members for many years, and, while it has grown-- both in size and numbers- it rarely feels crowded or big gym-like. I like the small feeling of it, yet it offers a whole variety of… equipment (even far more in its newer location) and a variety of classes, in addition to personal training. I believe the owner cares about its members' experiences and aspires to continually grow and develop. You can't satisfy everyone all the time,

This is a small, well equipped, well maintained facility in a pleasant neighborhood setting. It is small enough to offer a comfortable, personalized atmosphere, yet it provides the services and resources of a large franchise. They offer excellent individual training in a variety of health and fitness areas, available at a reasonable fee.
Since the owner is on site and provides many of the services himself, when you have a question or concern you're not just talking with a disinterested employee of some large chain. Suggestions are taken seriously, and over time one might have the feeling

I really wanted to like this place. I currently work for another gym that's in the south metro so we wanted to support a local business that was also a mile from where we lived. However, we should have trusted our gut... Starting with me reaching out to them to set up a tour and 7 day pass, they made it feel like we were an inconvenience. The tour… was all of 3 minutes with absolutely no engagement. Despite the poor customer service, we still decided to join under the agreement that we would sign a 6 month contract instead of 12 (because we most likely would be moving out of St. Paul). After

Don't bother. Nice gym, horrible customer service. Staff acts like your presence is a bother. Good luck getting your deposit back. Got charged another month despite contract being up and it being the end of the month. Was told that's just the way it was. Put in a year here. Insurance refund missed multiple times due to front desk errors. No effort to correct their mistakes. Definitely would not recommend. Talked to others who had similar experiences. Find a gym that doesn't treat your presence as a nuisance, and honors their contracts

I love Statera! I joined about 6 months ago and it's been great. Really affordable ($35 for a normal membership, $30 for students). They have two levels: the top level featuring 5 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, some recumbent and exercise bikes, freeweights up to 75, 3 benches, a benchpress bench, an incline bench, a squat rack, and probably 15 machines. The lower level has some more cardio equipment, a room with spin bikes, the locker rooms, another squat rack, more free weights, and a room with hardwood floors to do stretching, yoga, or other workouts. I normally go between 10a-4p, and there

I've never been a fan of giant corporate gyms where your hefty membership fee goes toward amenities I never use (smoothie bar/cafe? sauna? kids' water play area? group fitness classes I'm not interested in?), there are never enough machines/equipment available, and the staff is less than helpful.
Statera is the opposite of all of that -- it's a high-quality, affordable, local facility without the unnecessary frills, where the focus is truly on fitness.
- Affordable price: Membership costs are very fair (right now, $35 monthly for a single membership. Even lower if your insurance

They moved to a new location on Selby, so I'll update my review! There is much bigger space now. Still very clean gym with lots of equipment that includes everything from free weights to cardio machines. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Big parking lot, with even more parking spaces on the street.

What you get for just a few bucks per month is a no-nonsense, got-what-you-need sort of a gym. Lift weights, do some cardio, shower up, and leave feeling great.
The diverse clientele is mostly from the neighborhood. They are friendly, welcoming, and supportive.
Trainers here are highly educated in their field, and are happy to address your specific needs.
