Absolutely hands down one of the best Apartment buildings I've stayed in. The building is kept in mint condition, they are cleaning every part of this place all the time. The facilities are always well maintained and the team keeps innovating with new services.
Just a 10-15m walk to Old Town, close to the highway.
A special shoutout to Lahcen and the Maintenance team, they go above and beyond to help you with any problems or maintenance in your unit and in the building :)
The entire team at the leasing office are also incredible and have always been helpful. They keep arranging wonderful movie

Lovely, well located and well managed. From my living room I can watch deer and eagles on the creek. Step outside and I can join friends in the courtyards, play bocce or pool- despite Covid. I walk my dog along the Potomac and have a choice of restaurants I can walk to in less than ten minutes. The maintenance staff is incredibly responsive. Like all shared structures, individual experience will vary depending on your unit and neighbors. My experience over two years: highly recommend.

I honestly don’t know what the bad reviews are about but I genuinely love The Thornton. I have lived at The Thornton for about a year now ( I will be renewing my lease for another year) and have had no issues. I have a 7 month old daughter and a dog at one point and I’ve never had to complain about noise. If anything we are the noisy ones with a crying infant. We live above the highway and I never hear traffic because there is a double window pane. I do live in the North building so maybe that makes a difference. I love the amenities, the trails, the proximity to old town and Washington DC

I've lived here for four years and I have enjoyed it, for the most part. During these four years, I've only had to reach out to maintenance a few times, and the response is always prompt. I have to say that I also really appreciate the maintenance team and the office staff as well. They are very friendly and professional. My neighbors are very courteous, and it may be due to the where my apartment is located in the building, but it is very quiet which allows me to work from home with no issue.

We've lived at the Thornton since June 2018 and love it here.
Favorite things about the community:
- Everything is BRAND NEW. The South Building, where we live, opened in April I think, and the North Building only a couple of months ago. Everything is gorgeous and nothing looks/feels cheap or worn. The interior decorator for the common areas (lounge, party kitchen, billiards room, etc.) went with green for overall color theme and it came out beautiful.
- Location: peaceful proximity. We're a 10 minute walk to all the restaurants and stores on King Street, right across the street from Jones Point
