Kaizen Sushi

Last night we ordered take out.
Mixed Tempura Dinner, vegetable tempura, and chicken katsu dinner. All dishes were terrible. The tempura's were doughy, wet and thick wit batter only partially cooked. While the number of pieces was generous the quality was zero. Shocked with have been going her for last 10 years. It's as if the chef was in a rush and didn't bother to see if tempura was chrispy brown. Rhe rice was dry as well.

Two thumbs down Kaizen!

Kaizen is my family's Japanese restaurant of choice. Always good prices for the portion sizes, and their chicken teriyaki is fantastic. Unfortunately, it looks like they've been understaffed recently, and to-go orders always take a while because of how busy they are ... but props to their hustle.

Waiting for takeout. There is easily 16 people here. Not sure how a small restaurant gets this backed up. They definitely need a system that shuts down too many orders at once. I'd like to tell you how the food was, but I haven't tasted it yet...... Friday night at 7:00.

12/20/21: Like many people stated this USED to be a very good place for tasteful sushi. Today quality is terrible and/or lacking (used to be 4-5 Star reviews) now really slipped to 1-3 star reviews. I myself used to rave about this place (great food, great staff, and great service). Now poor everything! Owner and management doesn't care! Well like social media and word of mouth definitely not recommending this establishment. Sorry pick up t by e quality like before or you will loose more customers

It's time to move on, I'm afraid. Kaizen used to be my go-to Japanese/sushi spot in Campbell ever since it became Kaizen. But within the past four years most everything has gone downhill, especially service and value. Food quality is about the same, but portions are smaller, prices are higher, and there's a less welcoming atmosphere all around.

I'm not into sushi but people in my group LOVED it! I was undecided between Bento box and Donburi (similar to Bento but serve in dish) but tried Donburi spicy tofu - surprisingly good! Other people went for Donburi pork and it also excellent. I should give 5 star since the menu is rich in sushi selection!

This sushi restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall. Had excellent food and service. The miso soup was delicious, as was the cucumber salad as starters. My companion had a bento box and I had Gyoza along with several rolls. All were very tasty and well prepared. Also I ordered too much but it all looked good!

Small restaurant in strip plaza. Decent sushi and bento. Small portions though, good for one. I got a two item bento and was able to finish it without being stuffed. Price reflects the quantity you get.

Love their food. Came here for dinner a few years ago, and my toddler who's a picky eater loved their udon ! Their unagi don was perfect!
We started coming back here for lunch recently. I love their bento box for lunch as it was served very quickly and had big portion for the price.
I wish they could stop using styrofoam for miso soup. It's very environmental unfriendly.

The Bento Box Lunch Special here is a deal! It's $8.95 and comes with chicken terriyaki, mixed tempura, gyoza, CA roll, rice, soup and salad.

I've been here multiple times and the service and food has always been really consistant. The restuarant is also really clean. Parking can get busy around the lunch hour, but I've never had an issue getting a spot.

Really amazing flavors and awesome options. I really like their roll options. It has my favorite combinations. All comfortable flavors.

I really like their orange miso salmon nigiri. It's called scottish sake. They also have the akami big eye tune nigiri. This is tuna nigiri with sake wasabi dressing and garlic ponzu sauce.

Super good sashimi here. Fresh!

My favorite roll here is the Red Mango roll. I love salmon, spicy crab, avocado, spicy mayo, and tempura crumbs.

Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff are very friendly and attentive and constantly check in on you to make sure everything's okay. Pretty extensive menu and the prices are reasonable. Food itself tastes good and fresh for the price point. The only minor complaint is the bizarrely sticky tables, don't know what's up with that. If you're looking for some decent sushi at a good price, consider checking this place out.

Not good. Ordered a bento box through doordash. The salad was bitter. The California roll was also bitter tasting and the avocado was old. Chicken teriyaki and salmon teriyaki were dry.

Overall, not worth the price and the calories. Can't believe they would serve this quality of food to customers.

I placed an order for delivery and was quite impressed with how everything actually held together. The sushi was all in place and they even placed the sashimi in the box as if it were plated on a dish. The restaurant also included an ice pack to keep the sashimi fresh, which I really appreciate.

I got the simple cucumber roll and the salmon sashimi. The sushi was tasted great - perfect crunch! The sashimi was quite fresh as well, and did not disappoint either.

Only downside is that the portion sizes were quite small.

FOOD: I wish I could give a better review, but the food was 3-stars for ok average. The Lion King was ok. Salmon felt dry somehow? Or maybe I'm just used to a more saucy Lion King. Maybe it was just the specific roll I ordered. I'd have to go again and try their other rolls and options on the menu.

RESTAURANT: This place is busy! There were a good amount of to-go orders so that's a good sign maybe their other options on the menu are good. They have outside covered seating available.

Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and had a great experience! Our party was like 15 people but the food came out really fast. We ordered so many rolls that I honestly don't even know what was what, but my general impression of all the rolls was they were pretty fresh. I didn't get to try the sashimi alone, I'll def try it the next time I come! They have SO many options other than sushi, so it's a nice spot for Japanese food in general. I treated myself to a sushi self-care lunch and I was not disappointed.

The 49er roll pleasantly surprised me. The lemon slice on the top and yuzu brought a brightness that complimented the fish. The salmon sashimi was buttery soft.

Even though I ate solo, I didn't feel neglected. They sat me at a table near the sushi bar and the bar chef checked on me every now and again to help get the server's attention to take my order or get my check. What lovely service. This place is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the Campbell area. Come check it out!

Called at 6:35PM Saturday needing last minute reservations for 5 people and they accommodated. The place was packed with people waiting by 6:55PM.

Ordered over $100 worth of food but had so much take home.

Assorted Sashimi and Hamachi sampler - Quality and freshness was average but marked the keto check box. Stick to the cooked fish.

Tako sunomono - Confused how to eat this. They served all the ingredients separately but it was good.

Saba shioyaki - Must order! Definitely satisfying and light.

Vegetable tempura - Decent like any other restaurant.

This is a really great sushi spot. The spicy garlic edamame is my go-to app. I always go for the specialty rolls, so I can't really comment on the other dishes. The Poki and Destiny are good, so is the Power Aid but the pieces are enormous (too difficult to eat in one bite). The Five Star and Fire Cracker rolls have been my fav so far. Their crab meat is good too, it's hearty and not cheap/fake-tasting.

My friends and I were looking for a restaurant in Campbell that would accommodate a last minute reservation for 5 people. Lucky for us, Kaizen came through! Our party had arrived just in time to request for inside seating (25% capacity). They did offer outdoor seating as well, but it was chilly and windy that evening.

I could tell that Kaizen has an extensive menu, but they try to fit everything on one double-sided sheet of paper. I'm sure that they had to do this because of Covid. A paper can be easily disposed of. Reading the menu items, however, was challenging for me since the font was

We ordered online and pick up our orders meanwhile getting there. Everything was super fast paste.
The portion are generous and enough for one individual.
The first bento box contained sashimi ( thick portions of salmon with shredded ginger on the side) tempura and steak teriyaki with steamed rice and small side salad . Each bento also delivers with miso soup.
The other bento box was meat lover , chicken schnitzel style and beef teriyaki together with mixed tempura ,

Ordered sushi for pickup. Everything in the order was correct and delicious. They added on edamame for free. Also the rolls survived my bike ride home quite nicely. Definitely ordering from here in the future.

Creative menu (sushi rolls), and a good number of veg options. For vegetarians they have five different entrees, I recommend the Spicy Tofu Don. Other dishes to try are the Salmon Belly, Scallops, special rolls Lion King and FBI. Service here's pretty good.
