Since we opened in 1987 in Lexington, Kentucky this restaurant has satisfied many businesses and families as an authentic Japanese restaurant. We offer sushi, appetizers, noodles and other various entrees during our lunch and dinner hours. Due to various climates throughout Japan, food has developed in unique and distinct ways.

Food is central in connecting people of traditional culture to local customs, festivals, and annual events. To reserve a table please call us at (859) 254-1911 or click book a table, which will direct you to our telephone number.
Services
We offer sushi, appetizers, tempura, noodles, hot pot, and chef choice specials that change every day. Our nigiri-sushi is a bite-sized vinaigrette rice ball with a slice of raw fish or shellfish on top. We also have tempura, which is battered and deep fried seafood and vegetables. Additionally, we offer ramen, udon, and soba.
The head chef entered the cooking industry when he was 18 years old. After rigorous training, he opened a restaurant up in Japan at the age of 30, which was in operation for 9 years. Accordingly, he came to America to apply his cooking methodologies and offer authentic Japanese food to Tachibana customers.

Best ramen in town. I love the feel of the restaurant, it is very welcoming. They have a wonderful lunch menu. Perfect location for a business lunch. Highly recommended to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine.

I love this place, food is tasty. But I live from Louisville so it’s 1 hour away from Tachibana.

Our experience was incredibly disappointing. The food was great except they served us moldy mushrooms. This seems like a serious health code violation. You guys can’t serve moldy food—people will get sick.

I had an excellent time! I got the Chicken Tankatsu and it was fantastic. It comes with a salad, miso soup, and rice as well, so you are getting a huge bang for your buck. I will definitely be back!

Tachibana is great traditional Japanese food with cool atmosphere. From what I hear, Tachibana first opened it's doors in the 80's when the Toyota factory was established, as a traditional Japanese style eatery, to serve the Japanese workers and their families who came to open the factory. Their menu is extensive and the servers know the menu well and are happy to explain any food items. The food is wonderful and there is always something new to try. They offer a great daily special menu as well. Tachibana is in an awesomely designed wooden building tucked away on a side street. Totally worth checking

It is right next to Courtyard Hotel, very convenient. We ordered grilled calamari, Shoyu Raman, and Stir-fried udon. Good taste of the first two. The Udon fish had all the right ingredients but did not cook well, tasting like boiled noodle, not stir fried.

A must-go Japanese restaurant in town! You walk right in and see there’s a bunch of Japanese businessmen sitting for their company’s gatherings. If you are looking for a genuinely authentic Japanese restaurant in the United States, you know you’re in the right place! Try their agedashi tofu as your appetizer, and you will understand what I'm saying!

This place was within walking distance of our hotel, so it was convenient to stop in on our way back to Louisville. I love the design of the building and the interior. It had a "homelike" atmosphere and very clean (even the restrooms--we checked lol). We were seated and the staff was helpful in telling us about the specials for the day.
We (my husband and I) were impressed with everything so far, but we wanted to taste the food as well before we made any judgments. The niku udon and karaage were the first items to arrive. The udon broth was an aromatic beef broth with delicious and chewy udon

The best (and maybe the only) place for authentic Japanese food. The restaurant is very clean and all of the staff we've had have been great.
The food is delicious. The sushi is fresh and they have a large selection. The menu overall has a great selection of different foods.
Highly recommend this place if you are looking for great Japanese food.
