At David's Hair Styling we offer the best Hot Towel Shave in the Flatiron District for just $24. We start with a hot lather shaving cream followed by two hot towels and moisturizer creams. That is the preparation for a nice smooth clean shave. After the shave we apply cucumber massaging cream and aftershave.

I’ve been going there for over 5 years and I haven’t even thought about going somewhere else! Old school spot that know how cut. Joseph is the best barber in the city! I got thick hair that’s pretty corse and hard to deal with but with Joseph my fade is always on point And it blends perfectly with my top and beard! The man is Picasso with scissors and trimmer! Book an appointment with him and thank me later. Shout out to Joseph!!!!

Hardly even glanced at my hair or picture before he started chopping, and then tries to argue with me about how long my hair was when I walked in. I can't believe it. Utterly incompetent. Don't believe the 5 star reviews. Worst haircut of my life. They didn't even offer to comp their blatant mistake.
You know why there aren't more negative reviews here? Because after he's been arrogant and didn't offer any way to make amends, he tries to buy you out of taking your review down. What a way to run a business.

The best hairstylist/barber shop in the city! I’ve been going here for 7 years even though I moved to Brooklyn 4 years ago. David and his team are the best. Excellent haircuts and great shaves in whatever style you want, and all at a good price! Try coming here once, you’ll never go anywhere else again.

Stopped by this place for a cut before work. I confused this place with another location I visited before. I am happy I ran into this location. Joseph is a great guy. He shared personal stories and gave me great advice -- it was my first time visiting this place.
He gave me a great buzz cut and I left feeling like a million bucks. I wish I took pics of the interior of the place. My buzzcut was $24, a bit pricier than the previous place I went to but worth it.

I get a haircut every 17 days or so, but I just moved so I decided to switch barbers to someone near my work. I called David's to see if I could squeeze in an end-of-day appt. The guy who answered the phone was barely audible and told me "Ughh...I don't think so, man." He clearly did not even look at the calendar and just wanted to go home.
Look, I get frequent cuts and I always leave a really nice tip. It's gonna go somewhere else now...

Long time passerby, first time customer.
david's has been on my walk to work for the past three months and today was the day i wanted a no frills specific cut.
and boy did they deliver.
joseph is my new barber. he knows my name. he knew what i wanted and spoke my language.
two all around with a fade, don't cut the top because i'm growing it. taper the back.
and he did it flawlessly while telling me about his life and how he's been cutting hair since he was 14.
trust this man with his phone game suggestions and his recommendations on styling your hair.

I've tried all three barbers here. The guy on the right is nice enough, but he didn't give me a good cut. The guy in the back is pretty good and is who I've been going to for several months. This review is about David the owner though and why I won't be coming back.

I've been getting my hair cut by Joseph (Joe) for over a year. Awesome haircuts every time. He gives the attention and care to your haircut 100% of the time -- even when I have an appointment, and he's finishing up with someone in the chair, he won't rush them. Instead, he gives his attention to his customer, and makes sure he gives an amazing cut. Likewise, when I'm in his chair and he has customers waiting, he still makes sure that he's given me the cut I want. 100% care and attention to the person in his chair.

I was a walk-in and David cut my hair. Very nice guy, but damn did he mess up my cut. I didn't realize it until after I left because I was in a hurry, but I asked for a 1-to-2 fade and he basically did a 1 trim all the way around my head, with a little blending and took way more off the top than I asked for. So yeah, it's going to look a little stupid until it grows out, which is a bummer.

This place was recommended by a friend and I know a lot of other people were really happy, I left unhappy. Here's the details:
Some barbers are good and lovely, nice and get the kind of hair due your looking for. Some are great people but don't. In my case I give general instructions and leave out the details. If mid way in I see they don't get it, I start giving specific instruction like trim this cut there... But it usually happen when I am already not happy with the work.

I had a decent haircut at David's, but nothing outstanding.
The guy who cut my hair had a good style so that gave me hope. But ultimately he did the "typical guy cut"--shortish on top and short on the side; even though I asked to keep it "kind of long" on top.
My beard trim was good--and that guy can handle a straight razor--but he took my beard/neckline up way too high.
Interestingly he didn't speak the entire time, which in theory was cool but felt kind of unnerving.
Price wise it was decent, but not nearly as cheap as Edy's.

I luckily stumbled into this barber shop when i worked around the corner. Fast forward a year, ive changed jobs and moved to Brooklyn and i still come back here whenever i need a quality fade. I have yet to find a barber that does a good a job as these guys. Dependable.

I have a lot of trust issues with barbers/hair stylists touching my head. My hair texture is not the easiest to work with and even experienced barbers would be daunted by the coarse nature of my hair. Sometimes they don't even know what to do with it, AND it turns out to be a complete disaster.
