Open for five years, the owner is proud of his hair salon for all types of hair, and does great work. When you walk in it feels well put together and clean with a friendly with a casual vibe. I wanted to chop some hair off to break out of my high bun phase and get a cute choppy low maintenance short cut and Dominik knew exactly what to do. It was worth the price to work with someone confident, quick, and skilled. And very nice. There's also a cute salon pup named Blue, bonus.

Honestly honorably keeping it real and true!
Dominik and his staff really know how to take care of their clients and make them feel like they're making the right choices without any pressure that all in a great environment and atmosphere that makes you feel like you're being well taken care of and with people who have many years of great experience in cutting and coloring and advice thank you so much you'll love it!!

I had my hair colored and cut this weekend. I wanted a drastic change in hairstyle and was a bit anxious about it. Raffi spent lots of attention, time and care into my hair. He was friendly and patient, making sure I was happy. When I went back the next day to say that i loved the cut, but thought my hair was a bit too dark, he generously offered to redo the color so that I would be 100% happy. He even thanked me for giving him the opportunity to readjust the color. I will be back for sure, and will promote this hairsalon and Raffi's detailed eye to my friends and family. Katie

I love Natalya! This is the first salon I've gone to in NYC where I was not disappointed. I have super thick curly African-American hair and came into the salon for a silk press and a trim. Natalya worked hard to make sure my hair looked good and she handled my hair with much care. She talked through the trim and styling with me to make sure I was getting exactly what I want. There was one part of my hair that looked a bit frizzy and she told me to come back if it continued to frizz up or if I have any problems with it. She even said that I could come back for her to redo my edges the day

I have been coming to this salon since their opening and the whole staff is amazing. I have natural curly hair and feel the staff does an amazing job! The staff is diverse in skill and can help with all my needs. I have had blowouts by Natalya along with specific hairstyles. I went blonde with Gigi and she kept my hair curly and educated me on how to make that journey from dark brown hair to blonde in a healthy way. Dominik himself is amazing and runs an amazing team

I been researching on going blonde but maintaining my curls for a whole. I found a women (Gigi) who is a style here. My appointment was at 10:30. I was nervous about finding parking in the Harlem on a Saturday but there is literally a parking garage right next door. I was greeted immediately and every one was friendly. The salon is very modern and very very clean. Everyone had on their mask and maintained social distancing. My stylist was very professional. My hair came out great and no damage to my curls.

After 6 months my hair still need treatments! got damage by the stylist living hair color dye on it... I went home and comb it some broke and some just fell I got scare wash it and color was coming out, for what I pay and the hours I spent there then got ignore by staff about my situation, Never Again! I bet I would have done a better job, just because it looks and it is expensive dosen't mean its quality

Very scissor-happy salon! I had an appointment for myself and wanted to keep my hair long, but the stylist showed me where it was dead, and I knew it meant cutting off more than I wanted... but I didn't expect how short it was going to look. Still, it was a good cut, and I left feeling good. Only other hiccup was that my stylist didn't seem to know how to do the Olaplex treatment, and whomever he asked for help snapped at him in front of me, both of which felt a little unprofessional.

I've been in dire need of a fresh cut. Moved to Harlem in the fall from UWS and wanted to find a new, nearby salon to take care of my long and thick hair. I made an appointment with Lydia and am thrilled with the results! She was welcoming and so kind right from the start, took her time in cutting, blow-drying and styling. I feel like I have a new head of hair! Will most definitely come back to Lydia the next time I need a cut or trim.

As a German living in NYC, I always wanted to check out The Club by Dominik Mager, even though I don’t live in the neighborhood. I finally went in for a boylage and a haircut with Lydia and really enjoyed my overall experience. She was very professional and made sure that I feel 100% comfortable. I love my new natural “SoCal” look and can only highly recommend the salon!

If I could give The Club 10 stars, I would! Before I met Dominik I would fly to Pittsburgh several times a year for trims with my previous stylist. It took me nearly 3 years to find someone who listens to my hair concerns, is professional, and makes me feel fabulous every time I leave their chair. I would also recommend his junior stylist as they have performed blowouts to perfection and their clients always look amazing!

This is one of the best hair experiences I have had in my life. I have been getting blonde balayages for a few years now back in Paris, and I was scared that I wouldn't find what I was looking for in New York. Dominik was extremely gracious, professionial and helped me find a cooler undertone that would suit my skintone better.
I trusted him fully and was not disappointed.

I would recommend to anyone. EDIT: I went to Dominik for him to cut my chest-level hair short. Had to schedule two weeks in advance to get a slot with him. It was Saturday morning and The Club was a palace of clean and relax. Dominik and everyone were positive and nice, and professional all throughout. Now I love my new short and easy hair, just 3 or 4 inches long, and people keep pampering me. Inside the place, I felt that the seating, the decor, everything was a premium experience. Price wise, for women, I am honestly still unjaded to women's fat prices just to have their hair cut; but for men

...but the last time I was there I had an appointment for 10AM and my stylist, Darnell, didn’t show up until 10:30. I told him how I wanted it cut and he proceeded to buzz my hair with the clippers. No scissors, just buzzed me. That was not what I asked for but by the time I realized what was going on it was too late.
Then I couldn’t even get him to clean it up. My sideburns look atrocious and lopsided.
Oh well. If you go here I recommend you avoid Darnell.

I live in the neighborhood and had admired the salon from a distance for awhile until I finally decided to stop in. I just had a cut with Raffi. It was just a trim, but he did a great job. Walked me through what he was going to do and made some suggestions beyond what I was looking for. The salon is chic but friendly and I could tell that the 4 other customers there were all long time patrons. The price was great for the quality and I will definitely be returning.
