Absolutely incredible from hospitality to the service i received! i went here based off a friends recommendation & was not disappointed. I finally got the correct hair color I have been looking for and a beautiful haircut from George, I will 1000% be going here whenever I need to get my hair done!! Highly recommend!

(My hair cut and design was not from Le Reve hair salon, I went to my barber). I needed a new hair color after my separation from my ( now, ex girlfriend). Originally, my hair color was a natural dark brown. I showed my hairstylist a picture of the hair color I was looking to achieve and they resembled appropriately. I will go back for a touch up in about a month.

I walked in without an appointment for my first visit and was welcomed immediately and quoted a reasonable price for a shampoo and blow dry. Samantha did a fantastic job on my dry, frizzy hair and turned it into something lovely. The atmosphere was welcoming and very professional. I'll definitely be back! I have always had what I thought was fussy hair and never quite had a great hair cut or style. I just assumed that not hair was created equal and I just dealt with it. But! How wrong I was. I personally had my appointment with David but honestly all his staff seemed professional and their clients all had smiles ear to ear. If I could give negative stars I would. I used to love this salon yet recently I went in and asked for a specific color and showed about ten photos. The stylist George said "I got you." I asked if we can do Keratin on top of color the same day and was told yes. Well what a lie. My hair turned orange and looked nothing like the photos I showed. I was quoted 480.00 and charged 620.00 for an orange mess. I went back to have it fixed and was told "yes the Keratin did mess up the color." They tried to fix it and it looked exactly the same. I came in for a root touch up. The owner talks so much s**t, I was getting tired. He convinced me to get half head of highlights. Blah blah I will charge you a good price blah blah. I ended up paying 253 dollars. That is full price to me. Rita Hazan charges 480 for 3 hours of service and amazing hombre. You're telling me that this little nothing salon charges more than half for a root touch up and some brassy highlights. I said I didn't want brassy and he promised he wouldn't and brassy it is. Having had many bad haircuts, I get nervous about trying a new hairdresser. But Mariah was fantastic! We discussed a plan for my hair - not just for this cut, but moving forward with my style. I just moved into the neighborhood and was looking for a perfect place for color and style and I honestly couldn't be more happier to have found Le Reve Salon. This is a great hair salon. I have had 3 stellar haircuts with David and recently started getting lowlights. I've never dyed or highlighted my hair before that and I'm so happy with how it turned out- very natural and fun. I used to get my haircut at a fancy downtown salon, which I've realized is totally unnecessary. I'm already looking forward to my next cut and color at Le Reve.

George and team are wonderful! I appreciate that they offer options for alternative hair dyes like the organic hair dye that uses less strong chemicals. George was also patient and offered great recommendations for how to color my hair. He is an expert with hair cuts and styling as well. I felt very comfortable and taken care of by him, Claudia and Gladys. After lots of research, I'm so happy I chose this one and I've definitely found my new regular salon! Thank you!

I saw the solid yelp reviews and decided to give this place a try a week after I moved in down the street. I walked in on a Monday morning, no appt and they took me immediately.
David was wonderful, friendly, but takes his work seriously. My hair is straight, simple and fair easy to cut, but I had managed to get some rough angles and a sloppy layers my previous haircut. He picked up on it right away and did exactly what I asked and nothing more. It was perfect.
AND I told him it was my birthday and he asked me how I wanted to look, so he took extra time to put some fu bouncy curls in my hair

I went there when I first dyed my hair. I liked their service so I went back again. But this time they literally ruined my hair. I did not get the color I wanted. I had to go back twice. They charged me a lot but my hair color wasn't even close to what I wanted. I will never go back. They're very good with their words. They'll make you feel like nothing is their fault and your hair is great. But the second you come home and look at your own mirror with natural lighting, you'll understand the difference.

Had a great experience with David! Went in for a simple cut and he was super friendly, listened to what I wanted, made some suggestions and did an overall wonderful job on my hair. He even offered me a glass of wine, full service! I've definitely found my go-to hair stylist.
Update: yep still love David. Got a refresh on my blonde ombré/balayage today and am completely obsessed. A beautiful and gradual fade to blonde. Could not be happier

Secondly, I showed up a little early to my appointment and they took me in early! (Such a wonderful surprise when so many surrounding places are constantly running late!)

Le Reve salon is warm, welcoming and friendly. My stylist David is amazing!!!! He gave me the absolutely best haircut I have had in years. He listened very carefully to how I wanted my hair cut. And low and behold he cut it exactly as I had asked him to which in my experience is very rare!!!! He then gave me the most beauriful blow out to show off my new haircut. You must go to this salon and ask for David only. I am so very happy to have found Le Reve and David!!!

Natasha took very good care of my hair. I have very thick and frizzy hair, and she recommended the keratin treatment. Since I was a first time customer, I got a keratin treatment and free cut and style so the total bill was $250. That's pretty good for a generally very expensive treatment.
She was very fast and thorough and my hair feels so soft and light now. She gave me really cute layers and was nice to talk to! I would highly recommend Natasha.

This is a review of their customer service, not their hairstyling prowess.
This is one of the few, possibly only, salons on the Upper East Side that carries Kevin Murphy products. I have come in here multiple times to buy product and the staff has always been extremely helpful and friendly. No hard sell.
Should I decide to divorce my current hairstylist, I would give them a try.
