I am absolutely APPALLED by the lack of masking at this gym, and at the lack of enforcing the masking policies by the staff. During this Omicron surge, one would think that businesses would be doing what they can to keep their patrons safe. Not the case at 425. Have also had my personal belongings stolen out of my digitally locked locker here previously (happened to multiple members at once--we all filed a police report). I also have an issue that the women's-only workout section is often monitored by male staff...

I have been a member of Gold's Gym Redmond/425 Fitness since before it opened. I work out there regularly and also have a personal trainer. It is well-run, has good and continuously-upgraded equipment, and the training staff is professional and skilled. I am on the hard-core end of training (I have competed as a body-builder) but I mention that because while the gym is aimed at professionals who take fitness seriously, it also appeals to people like me. Facilities are nice, but the place is poorly run.
1. On 3 separate occasions, the PT’s bailed on appointments. 1 guy was “sick” but never let me know; I showed up, waited around, and only found out he wasn’t there when I asked another staff member to find him. The 2nd guy bailed twice, at least with a few days notice, after we did my InBody assessment and he ran my scans as a female (I’m not a female)
2. The staff don’t communicate well when the club hours are off; I understand closing early for inclement weather, but it would be nice to know before I got there

It's not surprising there are so many 1 star reviews. Long story short, since the brand changed to 425 Fitness the quality has decreased notoriously... My main issue is that they reopened without letting me know and charged me for six months until I realized I was getting billed. I know I should have noticed it right away, so that's on me, but the manager, who cowardly never showed his face, refused to refund even a single month. And boy did we try to contact him several times, by phone he would never pick up, in-person he would always be someplace else and would not return to his desk

Came over with my spouse who is a current member with a comp pass email from Connor, sales manager, who sold her 425 membership a month ago.
Alex at the front desk was extremely unhelpful and really acted like he could not care less. He said he could not let us try out the facilities with my wife who is an active member supposedly because Connor must validate that comp pass email himself in person and none of the employees present could grant it. Don't expect anyone to help you if you have any questions about your membership, manager is never around and there is hardly any staff willing to help you with anything. It's also impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phones, they're more than happy to take your money and hang you out to dry once you're a member. Planet fitness gives you more for less.

One of the worst customer experience with the facility/Swim director/coordinators. No return calls. Communication by only emails. I just purchased 10 private lessons based on recommendation from the instructor. However, learnt recently (after one class) that the instructor is going back to school. There is no accommodations to back fill/support. I have paid and I am unsure if I will get refunded. Stay away from the gym/aquatic center.

In short, this gym would make you pay for three additional months before you could cancel your membership. For eg. I wanted to cancel my gym membership after the first month but they charged me for four months.
This is the last gym on the planet I would recommend anyone to join. Extremely rude/unresponsive staff especially there is a guy named Jesus, who never cares to respond to any email or voicemails - in fact their entire team is the same. For the record, this guy manages cancellations for the gym.

I love this gym! I’ve been coming here for many years. The front desk staff is always friendly, ready to answer any questions I have and does a great job at keeping the gym clean. The GM, Wayne, makes sure the members are heard and is diligent in seeking out ways to improve the club. The equipment is updated and some of the best machines I’ve ever used. After the long pandemic, I decided to go back to the gym to get back in shape. First of all, I want to acknowledge Michael Downs who is passionate about giving his 110% to his customers. Michael directs all the fitness programs and found me an excellent trainer, Andrea. I have had a couple of classes with her and I love how professional, calm and friendly she is. 425 Redmond is my fitness community and I love it here! It's a spacious gym with everything you need: expansive weights and machines, swimming pool and hot tubs, amazing classes (Body Combat is the BEST workout in town), yoga and hot yoga...even hydrotherapy massage chairs for after your workout. I've been a member for 5+ years and have taken advantage of many of the offerings including private swim lessons, Boot Camp, Grit classes, Kids' Club Parent's Night Out, and Personal Training sessions.

We were members because of the excellent kids program. Unfortunately, through covid their billing practices have been predatory. I was billed for time I did not use the gym and they refused to refund me. They have also removed the ability for people to put their membership on hold. Now, I'm paying for a month I didn't use and an early termination fee because I don't want to spend $11/month to wait until there is kids care again.

During this pandemic, I haven't stepped foot into this gym for nearly 12 months. With Inslee's back and forth, I understand that it's hard for the gym to pick a time to recoup some cost. However, the they made many innovations during this time. I'm surprised to see such low Yelp rating on 425 Fitness. I've been working out here since they were Golds Gym. The place is always clean, it is rarely busy, they have digital lockers so you don't need to pack a lock, you get clean full sized shower towels or sweat towels, showers have soap and shampoo dispensers, all the equipment is new and in great shape. Steam and dry sauna! If you are turned off by others review, take a look at Instagram posts at any of the three 425 fitness gyms, to see how nice the facility is.

Had a one year membership. I cancelled at the one year mark and now have a debt collector calling me for a 200 dollar bill. Gym's been closed since March and memberships put on hold. Do not go here, very shady business practices going on at this place. Staff is terrible and have bad attitudes as well. Very unpleasant all around.

So apparently signing someone up for a membership and manning the front desk at the same time is "too hard" for the guy working Thursday nights. I went in to sign up for a membership and was turned away because the genius at the front desk can't multitask. He told me that I had to come back and make an appointment just to sign up. I went to the Issaquah location instead and signed up no problem. It took literally 5 minutes. It's not hard, the worker here is just lazy. Find better help 425.

WORST GYM EVER. This place is an absolute scam. The staff purposefully make the cancellation process nearly impossible. I have been trying to cancel my membership since the coronavirus started and because I moved away from Redmond to another country. To this day I still have not been able to cancel my membership and have been charged nearly $500 in fee's when I haven't stepped foot in the gym in months. This place deserves a zero star. I put my account on suspension due to covid, guess what, the membership fee still occurs without my consent. Even making a cancelling request would still mean one couldn't get any portion back, why isn't the fee prorated? I understand that everyone is suffering from covid and we as customers are willing to support local business but if you are trying to rob me.
